With Iron Man 3 and Man of Steel being at the forefront of the superhero movie scene this summer, The Wolverine is getting a bit lost. Now I can understand how excitement can be tempered considering how X-Men Origins: Wolverine was a massive dump on the chest of fans, but at least the source material for this followup is some of the best work in the character’s history using Chris Claremont’s 1982 limited series as its base.
This is going to be exhausting and some of you already know how exhausting I already consider Assassin’s Creed.
Not content with one special edition worldwide or anything like that, Ubisoft has announced five special collector’s editions. Three will be available overseas in the UK and Ireland so if you live there congrats!! Here in North America we will be getting the Black Chest Edition and is available exclusively on Ubisoft’s UPlay Network and features a diarama of Capt. Edward Kenway, steelbook case, soundtrack, new in-game content and much more as you can see above.
The second collector’s set available here is the Black Island Pack which comes with mostly in-game stuff like a new treasure hunting quest, new pistols and multiplayer items. Try and contain your excitement.
No pricing was given for the collector’s editions. Assassin’s Creed IV releases on October 29th.
Check out the new gameplay trailer below and before you get all goosebumpy and ready to pre-order, just remember how great the ads were for AC3. The new trailer does appear to try ans take the series in new directions, so let’s hope Ubisoft can deliver on the potential.
So remember earlier this month when we told you about the RetroN4, the console that would play NES, SNES, Genesis and Game Boy Advanced games? Well it seems that maker Hyperkin is going to toss any of those in the desert with all those lost Atari E.T. cartridges.
At the Midwest Gaming Classic show Hyperkin unveiled the RetroN5. It will play NES, SNES, Genesis, GBA and also Famicom games. SD card slot will be on the system for saves and it will come with an HDMI port and two Bluetooth controllers. Hyperkin hopes to releases the RetroN5 this summer for under 100 bucks.
At this rate you might as well wait until Christmas when they release the RetroN10 which will play NES, SNES, Master System, Genesis, Game Boy, Game Boy Advanced, Game Gear, Phillips CD-i, Jaguar and 3DO games.
At PAX East it was announced that XCOM: Enemy Unknown would be released for the Mac on April 25th, but an even bigger surprise was in store for fans of the strategy series. It will also be making its way onto the iPhone and iPad and that it will be the full version of the game not some watered down version.
“It is a straight port. We have not made any gameplay exceptions. You play the exact same game as on PC or consoles, it’s just now fully playable on an iPhone or an iPad”, says lead designer Jake Solomon.

Now I am just convinced that someone is after every bit of money I have in my wallet and even the secret stuff like my ass pennies (Google Upright Citizen’s Brigade for explanation). These were revealed back at the 2013 Toy Fair, but now we have some great quality shots of them.
The first series will include two Batman’s (one with Batusi hands and another with radioactive cowl), The Riddler, The Penguin, The Joker and Catwoman. And there is no telling how much they will take from me when the inevitable second and third series come out. God the possibilities!!
Eartha Kitt Catwoman, Julie Newmar Catwoman, Lee Meriweather Catwoman, John Astin Riddler, King Tut, Egghead, Minstrel, Archer!!!
And you can get an exclusive Robin when you buy this two-pack that let’s you recreate Batman and Robins’ rope climb up the buildings of Gotham!
Now I just have to find a Sammy Davis, Jr. figure to stick out of one of the windows and I will never have need for another figure ever again.
Today at PAX East Capcom dropped a bomb on the video game world and my childlike wonder. They announced that they will be releasing DuckTales Remastered, a redone version of the classic NES game that will release this summer on XBLA and PSN for $14.99.
Jesus, I can not tell you how many times I played through this game when I was a kid. Capcom may not know how to handle Mega Man, but it’s like they reached into my subconscious and pulled out one of the few happy moments with this announcement.
Watch the trailer below while I go touch myself and think about playing this game back when life was more than regret and disappointment and filled with cane jumping like a pogo stick and imagining one day when you could dive into your piles of riches like Scrooge McDuck.
I am greatly anticipating Injustice: Gods Among Us. I loved NetherRealm’s reboot of Mortal Kombat and they have transferred that solid fighting engine to the DC Universe with great looking results. Now the game will be doing like so many games before and offering a season pass. It will costs $14.99 and give you four new playable characters and a new skins pack featuring costumes from Geoff John’s Flashpoint event from a few years ago.
The four characters have not been announced so I will give you four of my guesses.
-Black Mass
-Silver Monkey
-Sgt. Rock
-Amanda Waller (c’mon you know it would be fun)

As one Pam Poovey from Archer would say. Holy shit snacks.
This new international trailer for Star Trek Into Darkness involves a lot of balls and they happen to be going to the wall. There is a ton of new footage in this as well as so much more Benedict Cumberbatch creepy awesomeness.
Here are a few things to look and listen for:
-Cumberbatch is referred to as a “top agent” of Starfleet. The Khan factor is looking less and less likely.
-For some reason, with Cumberbatch’s attack on the Starfleet meeting, I am thinking more and more that Admiral Pike may bite it in the movie.
-Alice Eve in her underwear….yeah.
-Also may I add….Peter Weller!! Admiral Robocop is in full effect in this trailer.
Also, check out the new poster below. Star Trek Into Darkness releases on May 15th.
We live in a culture of mash ups. It is inescapable. There are some winners and a whooole lot of losers.
I consider this a winner.
Someone has taken footage from The Avengers and created a Mighty Morphin Power Rangers style TV show opening for it. I will let you debate among yourselves about which Avenger is what color Ranger, but I hope we can all agree that Agent Coulson and Maria Hill are NO Bulk and Skull.
Alright, today Gearbox released the first of the planned DLC for its giant prison gang rape scene on the Aliens franchise, [amazon_link id=”B005THAX6K” target=”_blank” container=”” container_class=”” ]Aliens: Colonial Marines[/amazon_link]. Just in case you missed our review, give it a peek.
The Bug Hunt DLC is a survival mode where you battle wave after wave of aliens and blah, blah, blah. It sounds like what you find in almost every other multiplayer section of a FPS.
So for the DLC, we will play a little game of numbers.
99.98% of people who have played this game were raped violently from behind by Gearbox.
0.02% is the one guy from EGM who gave this game a stellar 9.0 review for that once proud publication. When you read it, it hurts your soul because it smells of a bought review.
88.7% of players most likely have traded this game in already because of how much of a bastardization of a great film franchise it is.
30% of the remaining 11.3% will buy this DLC hoping, in a last ditch effort, it will make the game worth playing again.
98% of that 30% will realize that they have just wasted 15 more dollars on a horrible ass game.
The remaining 2% will like the DLC and may be mentally retarded.
