  • XCOM Shooter Now Known As The Bureau: XCOM Declassified, Release Date Announced

The tactical third person shooter based in the XCOM universe has gone through a long road to release. It was even considered dead and buried at one point. Now it has risen again and looks to be on its way to release.

Now called The Bureau: XCOM Declassified, the game will take place in the 60’s during the Kennedy presidency and is the origin story for the XCOM division that players took control of in last year’s [amazon_link id=”B006WQR3V0″ target=”_blank” container=”” container_class=”” ]XCOM: Enemy Unknown[/amazon_link].

I suck at strategy games. I am talking about an eternal kind of suck that comes from over 20 years of me trying and failing horribly. But shooting things in the face in a third person game? A little bit better at that.

The Bureau is being developed by 2K Marin, the team that made Bioshock 2. So I have initial thoughts that I will be bored through 75% of the game and then really enjoy the final parts.

The Bureau: XCOM Declassified releases on August 20th.

  • Voters Select Barry Sanders For Madden NFL 25 Cover

After 40 million votes and debates by no one that I know in person, Barry Sanders has been selected the cover athlete for the 25th anniversary version of Madden NFL. Almost 40 million votes were tallied in the bracket that pitted NFL legends against current players. It came down to Barry Sanders and Adrian Peterson with Sanders prevailing with 58 percent of the vote.

This makes me wonder who in the hell were the 42 percent that actually voted against Barry Sanders? I mean Vikings fans have got to account for like 7 percent. Did Oklahoma fans decide to drive to another state and use their internet to vote?

Do not be confused when in the year 2025 the game is titled Madden 25 2: Die Maddener.

  • See Man Of Steel Early Thanks To…Wal-Mart? New Image Released.

This new image above will be titled simply ‘Merica.

If you, like me, are counting down the days until the release of Man of Steel (49 days) then Wal-Mart is offering you a chance to shave a few hours off of that wait. The big, evil corporation will be selling early screening tickets the the summer’s biggest movie beginning May 18th at 8AM in over 3,700 stores that will let them watch the movie at special 7PM showings on June 13th.

The tickets will also come with a code that will allow you to go ahead and pre-order the movie on Blu-Ray and receive a free digital comic written by the movie’s writer David Goyer.

This is actually a new idea that I could get behind. Now before you go off spouting your hatred of Wal-Mart as the Hitler of retailers just pull back a bit bleeding hearts. I think in idea alone this is a great idea and may be a look forward to what future movie blockbusters could end up doing. There is a large amount of people that I can see buying tickets in this fashion.

Man of Steel releases on June 14th.

  • Nintendo Not Having Large E3 Press Conference

In a move that surprised a lot yesterday, Nintendo announced that they would not be holding the traditional large scale E3 press conference. They instead will be putting on smaller events that will focus on all the software they have coming up for the Wii U and 3DS.

I was initially surprised with the announcement, but then it became more apparent to me that Nintendo may have been moving towards this anyway. At last year’s E3, they had a large press conference as well as three of four separate events at the show or through Nintendo’s direct stream. Over the past year Nintendo has used their direct stream to announce their biggest games including The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past 2.

Even with Nintendo’s exit from the big time press conference they have many promised huge games to show off including Super Smash Bros. and Mario for the Wii U.

  • New Star Trek Into Darkness Posters Make Up For Yesterday’s Mistake

And by mistake, I meant that there was no Scotty or Chekov posters with the batch that came out yesterday. Simon Pegg is getting his best Carl Lewis going and Anton Yelchin looks like he just realized he is wearing a red shirt.

Wait…why is Chekov wearing a red shirt? Is he going to bite it in the sequel? Damn. Cold blooded.

Star Trek Into Darkness releases on May 17th.

  • Call Of Duty: Ghosts (Sort Of) Confirmed As Box Art Leaks

Images have leaked out of the supposed box art for the not yet confirmed, but sure as shit is gonna happen Call of Duty: Ghosts. It has a military man on the front who is apparently answering the…call of duty? I suppose.

The next game in the mega-popular Call of Duty series, Ghosts will see you take control of Ranger Man or Other Ranger Man as you work to shoot and climb or rappel things in hopes of bringing the villainous Terrorist B into custody before he can blow up….the world…or something. You will be able to shoot many people with a wide array of military weaponry that you will never see in real life and aren’t quite sure if it is real or not.

For the other 98% of you, there is multiplayer also so you can avoid any kind of annoying story in your game.

Call of Duty: Ghosts has no release date, but it will be November.

  • Bishop Confirmed For X-Men: Days Of Future’s Past!

Bryan Singer, you magnificent bastard! I love you as much as I love fried foods and that is saying a hell of a lot.

The director sent out a Vine video on his Twitter of cast chairs on the set of X-Men: Days of Future’s Past and this beauty was in there.

    bishop

Now I was already looking forward to DOFP, but now this is getting damn ridiculous. Also among the chairs shown was one for Warpath, which means this cast is getting insane in how awesome it is. I swear to almighty God if they announce Cable is in this I am going to lose my damn mind and may even pee my pants some.

Actor Omar Sy was cast in an unspecified role in early March and it seems to be that it was for the role of Bishop. Wear the M proudly!

  • Deep Silver Releases Dead Island: Riptide Torso Anyway. Cause…Why The F*** Not?

So remember waaaay back in January when Deep Silver announced the “Zombie Bait” edition of Dead Island: Riptide which included the lovely torso of a bikini-clad woman? And remember how the internet blew up over the next few days talking about how reviled and revolting it was to release something like this? Then, in response, Deep Silver issued a statement which went kind of like this:

“We sincerely regret this choice. We are collecting feedback continuously from the Dead Island community, as well as the international gaming community at large, for ongoing internal meetings with Deep Silver’s entire international team today. For now, we want to reiterate to the community, fans and industry how deeply sorry we are, and that we are committed to making sure this will never happen again.”

Yeah, so fuck all that, they released it anyway.

Why you may ask? Hell if I know. Now I do think the bust is on the tasteless side and to release it anyway after vehemently apologizing for it months back makes the matter even worse. Maybe Deep Silver thought enough time had blown over since January or forgot the internet existed. They may need as much cash as possible after parent company Koch Media purchased Volition for $22 million.

Of course you could just think of the bust as a man that has had a sex change operation after a lifetime of feeling wrong with himself and finally was enjoying his/her first trip to beach and things went awry.

  • Marvel Regains Daredevil Movie Rights. And There Was Much Rejoicing.

Twentieth Century Fox’s inability to get another Daredevil feature film off the ground has cost them the rights to the character. Full rights now revert back to Marvel giving them the ability to move forward with a new movie.

Marvel has not gone on record saying that a Daredevil film is in their future plans, but with a character as well-known as The Man Without Fear there is no way he will sit dormant for long. This is also exctiting because now there is another character that can be involved with other Marvel characters at Disney including The Avengers.

Now let the dream casting begin! Leave your favorites below in the comments.
