  • Madden NFL 13 For Wii U Shows Off Its Features

Madden NFL 13 is coming to the Wii U at launch and it will bring with it a new set of controls that will use the Wii U’s gamepad to call your plays, perform audibles, draw out your own hot routes on the fly and more. Because this game did not have a full development cycle Wii U owners will not get to have the new physics engine that debuted this year in the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions of the game. One would think that it will be implemented in next year’s version.

Madden NFL 13 releases on November 18th.

  • Watch 9 Minutes Of New Super Mario Bros. U Gameplay

How Will The Wii U Gamepad Affect Mario’s Future?

Here is video from Nintendo’s direct conference showcasing how [amazon_link id=”B002I0K3CK” target=”_blank” container=”” container_class=”” ]New Super Mario Bros. U[/amazon_link] will look and play when it is released on November 18th alongside the Wii U.

If you love Mario gameplay and excited Japanese talking then this is the video for you. It gives you a small sample of all the new modes you will find including the speed runs, multiplayer coin battles, new suits and how the gamepad will be utilized for co-op gameplay. Using the gamepad as a seconday controller for someone to create platforms while another player goes through the level is another way Nintendo is keeping the Mario franchise and the Wii brand an easy way for family and friends to get in on the action together.

  • Satoru Iwata Unboxing A Wii U Is Oddly Fascinating

Seriously, Try And Not Be Entertained

Odds are over the next few weeks you are going to see many Wii U unboxing videos but let’s face it you won’t find one with the unbridled weirdness of watching Nintendo president Satoru Iwata unpack his company’s own console complete with gladiator music at the beginning that makes you think Spatacus is about come out and disembowel Iwata.

Wii U launches on November 18th and comes in two sets. Standard is $299.99 and the deluxe set (shown in the video) will retail for $349.99

Lastly, what is the over under on how many times you rewind the video to hear Iwata say “it’s a bit stiff” in Japanese? I am going +3.

  • Wii U’s First U.S. Commercial Is Here

So Let’s Just Forget About That British Ad.

Check out the first commercial to hit stateside for Nintendo’s upcoming Wii U. There is no denying that is vastly better than the British ad that was release a few weeks ago.

And by vastly better I mean this is completely watchable and doesn’t illicit any laughs at how moronic it is. Nintendo does a good job of conveying how the company hopes the gamepad will change the way you play and watch content.

The Wii U launches on November 18th.

  • Nintendo Announces Digital Reward Program For Wii U

The Big N Giving More Reasons To Buy A Wii U Deluxe Set.

If you already have a Wii U Deluxe Set reserved then you already should be considered lucky with the console already sold out way before its launch. But now Nintendo is giving deluxe owners an even better deal besides the larger hard drive and Nintendoland.

The Deluxe Digital Promotion will be available at launch and continue until December 31, 2014. For every dime spent in Nintendo’s eShop you will receive one point in the digital program. When you reach 500 points you will be rewarded with a $5 credit for a future eShop purchase. So for every new game bought digitally at $59.99 you will earn 599 points towards your reward total. Not a bad deal especially for people that love digital downloads over buying in a brick and mortar store.

Your credits from the program must be spent by June 30, 2015.

    Nintendo’s Wii U launches on November 18th.

  • First Wii U Commercial Is Well…..Bad.

    British Advertisement Is Cringe Worthy.

There is no two ways about it. Nintendo needs to hit a home run when it comes to marketing the [amazon_link id=”B009AGXH64″ target=”_blank” container=”” container_class=”” ]Wii U[/amazon_link] which is now only a month away from launch and if this first commercial running in the UK is any indication, the system is going to have a long road ahead.

I am a Nintendo fan boy. They don’t have to sell me on a system but the normal public need more than this to shell out $350 for the Wii’s successor. No mention of the TVii feature is just one forgotten piece in this disaster of an ad. Let’s all hope this is not the style that the American commercials will be because this is laughable.

    PSHEWWW PSHEWWW!!!

  • Behold! The Mighty Return Of The SNES Controller!

Maybe it is just because I miss the days of 16-bit gaming so much but this controller really needs to be in my possession, even if it does have to come from Australia.

This SNES-inspired Wii U Pro Controller will be on sale in the land down under on November 30th for around $50 U.S. dollars. I’m not sure what they use in Australia but I’ve seen Quigley Down Under about eleven times so I am assuming the exchange rate is like three Aboriginal clay pots per U.S. dollar.

  • Xbox 360 and Wii Receive A Price Drop

Microsoft And Nintendo Seem To Understand What Sony Doesn’t.

If you have been waiting five or six years to jump into this current generation of consoles then today is your lucky day. Microsoft and Nintendo have announced that both of their home consoles will be getting a drop in price just in time for the holidays.

The Wii will be priced at $129.99 and will come packed with Wii Sports and Wii Sports Resort while Microsoft has two different Xbox 360 bundles available for $249.99. The first will come with 4GB of memory, a Kinect sensor as well as Kinect Adventures and Kinect Disneyland. The second will come sporting a 250GB hard drive and two games, Forza Motorsports 4 and The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim.

Nintendo dropping the Wii price comes as no surprise with the Wii U due here in just about a month. This will only help to strengthen Wii sales throughout the holiday.

Sony just released their “super slim” redesigned Playstation 3 but actually raised the price of their bundles.

  • Assassin’s Creed 3 Announces Season-Pass DLC And An Evil George Washington?

DLC Pack Will Have George Telling Plenty Of Lies.

Ubisoft has announced that Assassin’s Creed 3 will be selling a Season-Pass for it’s DLC that will save buyers a total of 25% and a week early release on the first downloadable pack. But the biggest news seems to be that three of those packs will be a big single player add-on story entitled “The Tyranny of King Washington” which sees America’s beloved first president become mad with power and places himself on the throne as America’s king.

“As the revolution comes to a close, a new and most unexpected enemy emerges. Driven by the desire to secure the fate of the colonies, the greatest hero of the revolution, George Washington, succumbs to the temptation of infinite power. The new King is born and his reign leaves no one untouched. To return freedom to the land our new hero must dethrone a tyrant he once called friend.”

The Season Pass will include 5 DLC packs in all and cost $30 or 2400 MS Points.
