  • Sly Cooper: Thieves In Time Release Date Announced

Next February Just Got More Crowded .

Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time will be coming on February 5, 2013 just in time to join a crowded month which includes the likes of Bioshock, Metal Gear and Dead Space.

Fans have waited almost seven years on the stealthy raccoon’s PS3 debut. The game was originally slated for this fall but was pushed back and was also added to the PS Vita lineup. Thieves in Time will be one of Sony’s Cross-Buy titles which means that when you buy the Playstation 3 version of the game you will be able to download the title onto your Vita for free.

Along with Cross-Buy the game also has Cross-Play functionality so you can swap saves between systems. Playing at home and have to head out of the house? Simply swap your save to your Vita and continue from where you left off. Both of these features is what Sony (and myself) are hoping will push Vita sales.

Will you be getting Sly Cooper come February or is the month too full of great games already?

The played in reverse story of how one family met their end on the tropical island resort was something truly different and had the video game world talking about the game. It proved a success with the first game selling over 3 million copies.

Take a look below and let us know what you think.

Dead Island: Riptide releases in 2013 for Xbox 360 and PS3.

  • Sony Shows Off Lighter, Thinner PS3.

Two New Models And Bundles Announced

Sony started off TGS 2012 by revealing what had been leaked weeks ago, that we would be getting a new model for the Playstation 3. The new model is 20% smaller than the current “slim” version and weighs 25% less.

The system will come in a 250GB and 500GB versions and will be available in limited edition bundles. The 250GB system will be released on September 25th and retail for $269.99. It will come packed with Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception: Game of the Year Edition as well as a $30 voucher for CCP Games upcoming free to play shooter Dust 514.

Dust 514 is a first person shooter based in the EVE Online universe where your online battles actually affect the real outcomes and economy of the EVE online community. The game is free to play but will have different items and weapons available through microtransactions and $30 should be a good start for anyone wanting to start on this new shooter.

The 500GB version of the system will be available on October 30th to coincide with the release of Assassin’s Creed 3. A special bundle will be ready with the system coming packed with the highly anticipated game and a free month of Playstation Plus for only $299.99. The Playstation 3 version of the game also includes four exclusive levels that can only be played on Sony’s system.

It looks like Sony is making a big push this year to get more PS3’s into homes before next year when it is presumed they will show off their next home console for the first time.

  • Dragon Age 3 Officially Announced

Can Bioware Win Back Dragon Age Fans With Third Entry?

Bioware has announced that the Dragon Age franchise will be returning to consoles next year and will be using a new engine.

General manager of Bioware Montreal and Edmonton Aaryn Flynn also seems to know that a lot of fans were turned off by Dragon Age 2 (this one included) and wants fans to know that a lot of work is going into making this game a brand new Dragon Age.

“The Dragon Age team has been working on Dragon Age 3: Inquisition for almost two years now. We’ve been poring over player feedback from past games and connecting directly with our fans. They haven’t held back, so we’re not either. With Dragon Age 3: Inquisition, we want to give fans what they’re asking for – a great story with choices that matter, a massive world to explore, deep customization and combat that is both tactical and visceral.”

Bioware is not resting on their laurels when it comes to how Dragon Age 3 will run. They have partnered up with DICE to use the Frostbite 2 engine as the games base. Frostbite 2 was used in the creation of last year’s Battlefield 3 and the game looked stunning so one can only guess how well it will be used in the hands of Bioware.

Dragon Age 3: Inquisition will be released in late 2013.

  • The Wonderful 101 May Be Reason #1 To Buy A Wii U.

Could This Be The System Seller Nintendo Needs?

Platinum Games showed off a game called Project P-100 at E3 this year that caused a lot of buzz. Now the game has an official title, The Wonderful 101.

The easiest way to describe this real-time strategy game would be what if Pikmin was played with superheroes? You control 100 heroes on screen as they work together to save the Earth from an alien invasion. The Wii U gamepad will be used to combine their powers together to form giant blades or fists and even to fly from building to building.

My excitement for the Wii U has been steadily increasing and this game just made the wait seem longer. Take a look at the preview trailer and some screenshots below.

  • New Game Releases. Week Of September 16, 2012

All Hail The Beginning Of Holiday Gaming!!

    Borderlands 2 (360, PS3) $59.99-normal/ $99.99- deluxe/ good luck finding a loot chest

Gearbox’s followup to their 2009 game (which is free to all PS Plus subscribers this month), Borderlands 2 ups the ante on almost every single facet of the original. More character classes, a deeper story, 87 bazillion guns (no really, that’s how many Gearbox is toungue in cheek saying), online four player co-op and two player split screen which, if you played the first game, is the BEST way to play. A season pass for all DLC is also avaliable for 2400 MS Points or $29.99 on PSN. Ummm go now and get it.

Little Big Planet Vita (PS Vita) $39.99

Wait? Wasn’t this game not supposed to be released until September 25th? You are correct but Sony gave the go ahead this past Saturday to begin selling the game early. And yes I have a copy in my Vita right now and a review will be coming soon. I can say that from what I have played that if you love LBP and do not own a Vita this is a system seller. Tarsier has taken over for Media Molecule and have integrated all the Vita features well.  Now Sackboy can fit in your pocket and go anywhere. Phrasing, I know.

Torchlight 2 (PC Digital Download) $20

All the dungeon crawling and looting of Diablo III at a third of the price. Add in multiplayer co-op and the ability to still mod this game to your hearts content and you are looking at an easy buy for dungeon looters.

Jet Grind Radio (XBLA, PSN)  800 MS Points/$9.99 PSN

After you are done blowing off cel-shaded heads in Borderlands 2 go ahead and download the HD re-release of the Dreamcast classic rollerblading game. Not as many guns as Borderlands but you will have a great time blading away from cops and tagging your turf with graffiti. Oh Dreamcast, the one system Sega did right and it died a premature death.

    Happy gaming!!!

  • You Want A Wii U Deluxe Set? Try Again Elsewhere.

Multiple Retailers Already Out Of The $350 Set.

Well that was fast. Gamestop reported that they had stopped reservations on the Wii U deluxe set last night and today the same has happened as Best Buy, Target and Toys R Us have stopped taking pre-orders in store for the 32GB system. Right now it looks like Toys R Us still has some for online reservation but if you are looking for a Wii U to reserve at most places you are going to have to go with the basic set.

Most online retailers like Amazon have yet to put up the system for pre-order but if the past two days are any indication they will not last very long.

  • You Like Wii U Boxes? Here Is Your Fix!

    Gimme, Gimme, Gimme.

You know there is always more Wii U coverage around the corner! Here are some shots of what we (yes I did it) will be holding in our grubby little hands on November 18 when Nintendo releases their next console. I have bought every Nintendo system on day one (except the NES cause I was six) and the trend will continue.

Just in case you missed any of our coverage yesterday, the basic set will run you $299.99 and the deluxe will set you back $349.99 but really is the better deal with the extras Nintendo is throwing in.

  • NBA Live 13 Lives!!!

    Game Is Delayed, Not Dead

For the three basketball fans on the planet that don’t enjoy the 2K series of games (that would be me and two guys from Ann Arbor, Michigan) it has been a long road of basketball-less video game days. EA has not released a new game since NBA Live 10 and hasn’t made a good one since….well it’s been a while.

After the NBA franchise was handed over to Tiburon to get EA’s b-ball flagship back on the rails it went the complete opposite direction. The series was renamed to NBA Elite and famously cancelled only one week before it’s release date. EA then decided to take time away from the game and was going to come back strong this year with NBA Live 13. The game was shown off to a group of “meh’s” from people and when August hit and I had not seen anything new from the game I feared the worst.

But now EA has released a new trailer today and assured everyone that NBA Live 13 is alive and well. And even though it will not go head to head with NBA 2K13 on October 2 it will be released soon.

Take a look at the new trailer below and leave your hate comments also since I blasphemed the name of NBA 2K.

I’m sorry I have tried to like it. It just does not click with me.
