  • New Trailer For Riddick Looks To Recapture That Pitch Black Magic

    riddick06

2013 is turning out to be a weird year for me theatrically. As much crap as I give Vin Diesel I am more than ready for his two movies this year. Fast & Furious 6 will be out in a few weeks and this September sees the return of my favorite of his characters, Riddick.

Yes, I am an unapologetic Riddick lover. Deal with it.

The new trailer for Riddick really gives the movie a more Pitch Black feel than the slightly bloated The Chronicles of Riddick. There are three simple reasons why I will be seeing this beyond the gratuitous violence:

    1. Riddick

    2. Katee Sackhoff

    3. Batista (Dave Bautista to be proper)

    Riddick releases on September 6th.

    incredible-poster-for-thor-the-dark-world-132733-a-1366388522-672-100

Finally after weeks of waiting, here it is! The first trailer for Thor: The Dark World is here and if you will indulge me, I would like to give one of my hardiest holy shits possible.

The trailer shows Thor returning to Earth for Jane Foster and taking her to Asgard as Malekith the Accursed and his dark elves wage a war which may claim all Thor holds dear. And in case you were wondering where Loki is at, just wait till the end and bask in the glory of Tom Hiddleston’s wondrous hair.

Thor: The Dark World releases on November 8th.

  • Injustice:Gods Among Us Launch Trailer Has Punching, Kicking And Kevin Conroy

WB Games has released a launch trailer for Injustice: Gods Among Us. It is not heavy on story (which is great by the way), but it is heavy on punches to the face, tombstones over people’s heads and truth lassos. Oh and Batman and Aquaman get most of the speaking time which is fine with me since Kevin Conroy is back doing Batman’s voice and Aquaman is the King of Atlantis and all. Not an Aquaman fan? You are missing out.

[amazon_link id=”B0088I7L76″ target=”_blank” container=”” container_class=”” ]Injustice: Gods Among Us[/amazon_link] releases on April 16th, which is next week! So this is the perfect opportunity to check out our Five Reasons why you should buy Injustice.

Holy Ronald Reagan Oingo Boingo John Carpenter Roddy Piper Jane Fonda TBS Superstation Space Mutiny fuck balls.

That was roughly what was running through my head as I watched the reveal trailer for Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon in all its VHS tracking glory. I will give you a chance to watch it below then keep scrolling.

Has your mind been sufficiently blown?

Are you thinking, like me, that you will now name your firstborn male child Rex “Power” Colt?

  • First Trailer For Neill Blomkamp’s Elysium

How exactly do you follow up your first film which happened to be nominated for Best Picture? You get Matt Damon and Jodie Foster to star in your second sci-fi epic of course.

Elysium takes place in the year 2154 where the rich and privileged live on board a floating utopia named…you guessed it, Elysium. Matt Damon stars as Max Coburn, an ex-con that lives on the ruined shambles of Earth with the rest of the sick and poor. He has a plan to infiltrate Elysium to find the medical care he needs to save his life. To do this he is outfitted with a robotic device that connects to his spine and connects to his arms giving him super strength.

I will go ahead and say that, personally, I was not the biggest fan of District 9. I thought it was a pretty good movie, but couldn’t heap all the praise on it that was given. I am decidedly more excited about Elysium.

Check out the first trailer for the huge sci-fi film below. Elysium releases on August 9th.

  • Hit-Girl Gets Bloody In The New Carrie Trailer

Remaking movies is popular. We all know this, but remaking classic movies is a different animal altogether. Brian De Palma’s Carrie is definitely a classic and many may wonder why it needs a remake. I would normally be with you…if the movie didn’t have such a damn good looking cast. Now I really don’t think anything can top Sissy Spacek’s performance or De Palma’s creepy as hell direction, but getting Chloe Grace Moretz and Julianne Moore is more than a good start. The movie was originally planned to be released last month, but moved to a spot closer to Halloween which may work in its favor.

The full trailer has just been released for the remake which releases on October 18th. Check it out below.

Side note: I hate it that whenever I see or think about anything  from Carrie, movie or book, I instantly think of Skeet Ulrich from Scream giving the pig’s blood speech. Damn you Scream!! Who wants to think of Skeet Ulrich?!! Ever!! NO ONE, THAT’S WHO!!

If the first trailer for This Is The End looked a bit funny, but you wondered how much funnier it would be unedited and filled with the dirty words, wonder no longer! The red band trailer shows off a massive party at James Franco’s house that is filled with celebrities. Fun is had by all until strange events happen and the end of the world seems imminent.

Want a few reasons to click play?

    1. A drunk Michael Cera getting the shit beat out of him by Rihanna.

    2. Cera then subsequently getting impaled

    3. Seth Rogen telling of a childhood memory of being fat and getting titty fucked.

    4. “Hermione just stole all of our shit.”

This Is The End releases on June 12th.

  • The Last Of Us Red Band Trailer Makes Us Ask Is It June 14th Yet?

If you were watching last night’s (disappointing) season finale of The Walking Dead then you were treated to all kinds of zombie fun. The Zombie Run 5K and World War Z had ads on the show, but the one that we actually cared about was the new 30 second spot for Naughty Dog’s [amazon_link id=”B007CM0K86″ target=”_blank” container=”” container_class=”” ]The Last of Us[/amazon_link].

As many of my exes have said, thirty seconds is just not long enough so here is the extended two minute trailer complete with dirty words (fuck) and goriness (blood). Joel, Ellie and Tess are all featured prominently and we see plenty of zombie (but not zombie) killing action. Every time I see some new footage I am astounded by how great the voice acting is.

The Last of Us releases on June 14th.

  • You’re Next Trailer Looks Like The Strangers, But May Have More Hidden Up Its Sleeve

You’re Next is a horror film that you may not be familiar with it, but it has been making waves on the festival circuit for the past few months. It has been regarded as smart, disturbing and even a bit funny. The first trailer has just released and you can easily see why comparisons to [amazon_link id=”B001D2WU8O” target=”_blank” container=”” container_class=”” ]The Strangers[/amazon_link] will begin, but when you read the film’s official synopsis the trailer takes on a new meaning and could become a film that will gather steam heading to its August release.

Read the synopsis, then give the trailer a view.

One of the smartest and most terrifying films in years, YOU’RE NEXT reinvents the genre by putting a fresh twist on home-invasion horror. When a gang of masked, ax-wielding murderers descend upon the Davison family reunion, the hapless victims seem trapped…until an unlikely guest of the family proves to be the most talented killer of all.

I swear if this movie becomes some twisted ass Home Alone I will lose my shit. Like if Macaulay Culkin came back from doing….whatever it was he was doing for twenty years…and takes on the Wet Bandits again only instead of pellet guns to the nuts he was stabbing their eyes out with a soldering iron.

You’re Next releases on August 23rd.
