USB drives are everywhere. Chances are you have one on you right now. Hell, I stepped on one on my floor last night walking to go get some Pop Tarts. So it takes a special kind of design to get me to want to buy a new one and actually take care of it.

Behold! The Mega Buster USB drive.

Capcom will be selling these beauties next week for 20 bucks a pop and it will come pre-loaded with all kinds of Mega Man goodness. You will get a link to download the Street Fighter X Mega Man game, soundtrack, wallpapers and two digital art books.

You want it, just admit it. It’s easier when you admit things.

  • Here Is The Galaxy Muse, Samsung’s Answer To The iPod Shuffle

    Samsung-Galaxy-Muse-Pebble-shaped-MP3-Player

First off, I know what you are thinking and no Samsung has not started making birth control holders.

This, in fact, is the company’s answer to Apple’s iPod Shuffle, the Galaxy Muse. The Muse comes with 4GB of storage and promises 6 hours of music playback. While not incredibly stylish in design it does have some cool features that could make this worth a purchase for Galaxy phone owners.

The big feature of this player is the Music Sync Android, which lets you sync your music from your phone to the player without the need of a PC. Simply plug in the Muse into your [amazon_link id=”B007VCRRNS” target=”_blank” container=”” container_class=”” ]Galaxy S3[/amazon_link] or [amazon_link id=”B0099LATZ2″ target=”_blank” container=”” container_class=”” ]Galaxy Note 2[/amazon_link] through the headphone jack on the Muse to the USB port on your phone and bingo, your music is synced.

With Samsung making huge headway into Apple’s smartphone money with the Galaxy series this is the next logical step in their attempt to keep their brand strong. The Galaxy Muse is available now and only costs $60.

  • Amazon AutoRip Gives You Free MP3’s Of Your CD Library Since 1998.

    Amazon_logo

Amazon has just added a literal ton to my cloud player. Today they have announced their new service called AutoRip. The basics of it are that for every CD you buy on Amazon.com you will have a free MP3 copy sent instantly to your Amazon Cloud Player. This means that while waiting on your CD you can listen to an MP3 version of the album instantly and then transfer it to any of the Apple or Android phones or tablets you happen to own.

The real big deal of this new service is that Amazon has decided to reward longtime customers and give them MP3 versions of albums they have bought since the beginning of Amazon Music way back in 1998 for free. So for people, like me, that have had Amazon accounts for quite a while (2002 for me), you will now have every CD you have bought delivered to your cloud player for no charge. This is a great bit of fan service that amazon did not have yo do but I am very thankful they did. Go check out Amazon.com/AutoRip to see exactly how the service will work.

  • Worx WG787 Cordless Electric Lawn Mower Review

    worx-787-cordless-lawn-mower

The best mower I’ve ever used

After moving from an apartment into a house with a grassy yard, I headed up to Lowes for some lawn mower shopping with my son. We eventually chose the [amazon_link id=”B007AQZ9S0″ target=”_blank” container=”” container_class=”” ]Worx WG787 Cordless Electric Lawn Mower[/amazon_link] for three reasons:

    My favorite features:

    1. No gas.
    2. No cords.
    3. Quiet Mode.

    Other great features:

    • Cuts up to 15,000 square feet on a single charge
    • Up to 45 minutes of runtime
    • 3-in-1 cutting for mulching, bagging, or rear discharge; push-button starting
    • Adjustable mowing height from 1.5 to 3.5 inches; 17-inch cutting width
    • IntelliCut mowing technology adds torque when you’re cutting tough grass
    • Special mulching blade chops up clippings better than standard blades

Over the past few months I’ve put these features to the test during the fast-growing sub-tropical Alabama summer.

    Smart Design

The Worx 787 proves to be a lightweight, but durable, grass-eating beast that’s easy to maneuver. A hefty 12-volt rechargeable/removable battery makes up the bulk of the mower’s weight. Its lightness makes it feel deceptively delicate, but it’s actually pretty tough. I’ve banged it around the front and back yard in bumpy muddy weed-heavy terrain without any problems.

The battery slides in and out of the mower body with ease. So easily in fact, if the mower tips over while in use the battery actually falls out, turning off the blade motor. At first I thought this was a flaw, but I realized it may be a safety feature since the blades are exposed if the mower is on its side. Even if it wasn’t an intentional decision by the industrial designers, I appreciate the feature while doing yard work with kids around.

And of course, the battery-powered device is free from the hassle managing cords.

I do wish the wheels were a bit larger, to help it cruise through deep overgrowth a bit better, but if you mow regularly, it’s not an issue.

    Politely powerful

The Quiet Mode has a clever feature called Intellicut, which ramps up the power if you need it, but remains quieter than a hair dryer so you can mow at night without disturbing your neighbors. Not that you’d want to mow at night, but if you’re like me, you may want to get some yard work in while the kids are taking a nap.

Treat yourself to the best cordless electric mower around… or the bigger one.

Now that I’ve owned the Worx 787 for several months I have zero regret. Simple, clean, and surprisingly quiet, it dominates the lawn. [amazon_link id=”B007AQZ9S0″ target=”_blank” container=”” container_class=”” ]Buy it on amazon.com[/amazon_link]

    Or check it its big brother, the [amazon_link id=”B003BJE9WM” target=”_blank” container=”” container_class=”” ]more powerful self-propelled model[/amazon_link].

Anybody else have a favorite mower?

Anyone that has been out of town in a hotel has thought at least twice about plugging your laptop, phone, tablet or any other electronic items into the outlets. • Did You Get Your iPhone 5 Reserved? Don’t Worry A Lot Of Others Didn’t Either.

2 Week Waits Now Reported By Apple

I really hope you were able to get that iPhone 5 pre-order in fast. Apple is now saying that there is now a two week wait for a lot of people who got online last night and pre-ordered the new iteration of the iPhone. That means that even if you did get your order in last night that you are not guaranteed an iPhone 5 on September 21st but sometime within a two week window.

Add that to a lot of problems people were having with not being able to change their addresses when ordering the phones and Apple is not exactly having the smoothest beginning to a launch. It is possibly a minor problem….or the beginning of the end without Steve Jobs!!!!

    I’m guessing a minor problem.

  • iPhone 5 Officially Announced

Releasing on September 21st for $199.

As expected, today Apple announced the iPhone 5. And in today’s age of leaked content and footage there really is no surprise on the look of it. It it a two toned back and 4″ elongated screen like the leaked photos over the past few days. The phone will come loaded with iOS 6 straight out of box and the new, smaller A6 chip which is twice as fast as the A5 and allow for 2X better graphics.

The camera will be the same as the 4S with a few improvements including 40% faster shutter speed and a built in panoramic mode as well as having facial detection for up to ten people. The back camera will be able to shoot 1080p video and the front will get to shoot our ugly mugs in 720p.

Battery life has been improved with 225 hours of standby time and can even run 8 hours on 4G LTE.

    Size Matters

Like I said before the phone is getting a bump in screen size to 4″ but it will be longer and not wider. Also the iPhone 5 will be 20% lighter and 18% thinner than the 4S. Apple said that they did this because they believe you should be able to handle everything on your phone with one hand (maybe a dig at such phones as the Galaxy Note).

The new power connector is also going smaller and is called Lightning. It is 80% smaller and digital. Apple has an adapter ready to sell if you want to use your stockpile of old iPhone or iPod cords with the new phones as well.

    Siri update my status…wait wait!

Don’t worry Siri users, the digital chick is getting a few upgrades to. First off you will now be able to update your Facebook using the service which I can already tell is going to be so much fun to watch certain people’s drunken Siri talks accidentally go up for all to see. For the sports fan you can now ask Siri about your favorite team and get live score updates on the screen.

Apple said that the iPhone 5 will be available for pre-order on September 14th and released on September 21st. The prices are the same as when the 4S released last year so $199 for 16GB, $299 for 32GB and $399 for 64GB. The 4S will drop to $99 and the 4 will become free with a two year contract.

What say all of you? Is it a big enough jump to get rid of your 4 or even your 4S?

  • An electric vehicle cheaper than the Leaf, more stable than the Batpod.

Introducing the world’s first gyroscopically stabilized, two-wheeled all-electric vehicle: The C1 from Lit Motors. Or as I like to call it, My Next Car.

Notice the clip of the C1 getting jerked around by a Jeep while keeping its balance and staying upright. The idea is that even in an actual crash it would bounce off, screech a bit, and keep going.

Sliding by a theater near you

If it sounds like something you’ve seen in movies, you’re right. There are actually several features of the C1 that have ties to the big screen.

    • Super-stable 2-wheeled vehicle = The Dark Knight’s Batpod
    • Remote controlled by smartphone = Batman’s Batmobile and The Dark Knight’s Batpod
    • HUD display built in to the windshield… you heard me. = Remember the car Tom Cruise sported in MI4 with the touch screen windshield… that, but without the “touch” capability.

    Other great features:

    • top speeds around 100mph,
    • 0-60 in 6 seconds
    • a range of about 200 miles/charge

All packaged into a sleek design that will launch in 2o14 for about $24,000, but will drop to $12,500 by 2018.

  • IPhone 5 Announcement To Be Held On September 12.

Are you just getting used to not using Siri as much as you thought you would? Well it’s time to get excited again. Apple has released this image above for their September 12 event and you would have to assume it will be the IPhone 5 announcement that everyone has been anticipating. Keep looking at the picture. It’s like a magic eye trick. Notice it? See that’s why the PR guys at Apple make the big bucks and I type on a keyboard about it…for free.

Rumors have been bouncing around about the next version of the IPhone since the day the 4S was announced. The one rumor that is almost assured is that it will have a redesigned charging port so all the IPhone cords you and your friends have won’t be so universal anymore. Also it should almost be a guarantee that the screen will be getting a bump up in size. Nothing so ridiculous as the Galaxy Note or even some of the other Samsung or Nokia models but more around the 4-4.2 inch range.

Anyone looking to pick up the IPhone 5 when it releases in a few weeks, sticking with what you have now or waiting to see the official unveiling before deciding?
