  • Reserve A Game On The Microsoft Store And Get 1600 Points

    Dead-Space-3-Splash-Image1

There are a lot of big name titles coming out in the first half of this year and Microsoft is giving you an incentive to reserve the ones you want on their store site. The The Microsoft Store is offering a free 1600 MS Point card ($20) when you reserve any of the games they have listed on their site from the promotion. Big games like [amazon_link id=”B0050SXKU4″ target=”_blank” container=”” container_class=”” ]Grand Theft Auto 5[/amazon_link] and [amazon_link id=”B0050SWVIQ” target=”_blank” container=”” container_class=”” ]Dead Space 3[/amazon_link] are on the list. All in all it’s not a bad deal when you are essentially paying $39.99 for a game when you get your card.

Take a look at the list of game available for this offer.

    • Grand Theft Auto 5
    • Tomb Raider
    • Bioshock Infinite
    • Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance
    • Lost Planet 3
    • Tiger Woods PGA Tour ’14
    • Crysis 3
    • Dead Space 3
    • South Park: The Stick of Truth
    • Army of Two: The Devil’s Cartel
  • PS3 Owners Will Finally Get Skyrim DLC

    Rejoice Playstation owners! Rejoice!

Bethsda has apparently solved the conundrum that is PS3 programming and figured out how to make the downloadable content work for [amazon_link id=”B004HYK8Y8″ target=”_blank” container=”” container_class=”” ]Skyrim[/amazon_link].

In February Bethesda will release all three DLC packs (Dawnguard, Hearthfire and Dragonborn) to the Playstation Store. For the first week of release all three packs will be 50% off which, to me, seems like a kick in the nuts to PS3 owners. People who have bought this game on November 11, 2011 (granted they haven’t given up by now) have encountered problem after problem including the game basically being broken and unplayable. Then you add onto that crap sandwich with Bethesda saying they could not figure out how to port the DLC onto the PS3 and now after a year of waiting and problems you only have these packs being 50% off…..for a week?? Not even free for PS Plus subscribers?

Let’s hope none of these problems exist when Fallout 4 eventually releases on the PS4.

  • Waiting On That Tomb Raider Demo? Keep Waiting.

    tomb-raider-delay

Crystal Dynamics has announced that there will be no demo released for the upcoming reboot of [amazon_link id=”B004FS8LYK” target=”_blank” container=”” container_class=”” ]Tomb Raider[/amazon_link], saying that they did not want to spoil the story in any way and also did not want players to start the game and have a week or so break before having to pick it back up. Seems logical especially given how long we have been waiting on this game, holding off an extra week to get the full version should not bother anyone (except your hardcore trolls).

Also bucking with a recent industry trend is the fact that the game will not offer any kind of season or online pass for it’s downloadable content. This has become the norm for many big titles to offer a $20 or $30 package right at release that includes all future DLC in one package. To me, this says that they may not have a whole lot of DLC planned to justify a $30 charge.

    [amazon_link id=”B004FS8LYK” target=”_blank” container=”” container_class=”” ]Tomb Raider[/amazon_link] will release on March 5th.

  • Far Cry 3 DLC Available Today, Expands Single And Multiplayer

    far-cry-3_b1

Today Ubisoft released the ‘Deluxe Bundle” DLC pack for the amazing shooter [amazon_link id=”B0050SYV70″ target=”_blank” container=”” container_class=”” ]Far Cry 3[/amazon_link]. The pack contains every pre-order bonus that was offered with the game before release through the various different websites and store deals in one simple download. For only $10 or 800 MS Points you will receive The Lost Expeditions, The Monkey Business Pack, The Warrior, and The Predator Pack as well as new animals to hunt and more single and multiplayer weapons.

    The ‘Deluxe Bundle’ will include:

    • Six new single player missions
    • Two new single player weapons: Tribal Knife and Hunter’s M700 Predator Rifle
    • Four new animals to hunt: the Mountain Lion, Thylacine, White Tiger and Red Vulture
    • One new character: Hurk and his monkeys
    • Two multiplayer weapon unlocks: Type-10 Flare, Shotgun and Predator Bow
    • Two new end of match movies for multiplayer starring Hurk and his monkeys

For 10 bucks that a good amount of content to add on to an already massive game.

  • We Will Get To Play The Cave Sooner Than Expected

    TheCaveTitle

One of the games I have anxiously been awaiting to play is The Cave, the new adventure game from Double Fine Studios and industry legend Ron Gilbert, who created [amazon_link id=”B00642R92A” target=”_blank” container=”” container_class=”” ]Monkey Island[/amazon_link]. Now the wait is almost over because it has been announced that The Cave will be released on January 22nd on the Nintendo eShop for Wii U and Playstation Network and January 23rd on Xbox Live.

The Cave is a side-scrolling adventure where you pick three characters from a cast of seven (much like Maniac Mansion) and make your way through a magical cave using all three members of your party to solve the puzzles within.

The Cave will cost 1200 MS Points or $14.99 depending on your platform.

  • Splinter Cell: Blacklist Delayed Until August. Watch The New Trailer.

    splinter-cell-blacklist-04

Ubisoft has announced that [amazon_link id=”B0086V5V8G” target=”_blank” container=”” container_class=”” ]Splinter Cell: Blacklist[/amazon_link] has been delayed and will release on August 20, 2013. Now that may sound like a bad thing, especially if you have been patiently waiting on the game, but this gets Sam Fisher out of the “release window of death” that is spring 2013. With February-May loaded with releases there were bound to be some games that got lost and I am glad that Splinter Cell moved to later in the year. Some other games (Fuse) could take this move as a sign of what to do.

Along with the release change there was also a new trailer released today. The aptly named ‘Inauguration’ sees actual footage of past presidents taking the oath of office as Sam and his team try to diffuse a situation that could lead  to a national incident. And no, Michael Ironside is still not doing Sam’s voice in this game, so we are just all going have to get used to that. If you need to hear his oh so soothing voice go watch [amazon_link id=”B000UAFDP2″ target=”_blank” container=”” container_class=”” ]Starship Troopers[/amazon_link] or any SyFy Saturday night movie.

Here is the new trailer courtesy of IGN.

  • New Metal Gear Rising Trailer Is So Metal Gear It Hurts

    metal-gear-rising-revengeance-revengeeance-2012-10-31-08-39-30

Metal Gear has become the David Lynch of video games. It sure does look pretty but I’ll be damned if I know what’s going on. I made it through Metal Gear Solid 4 and felt I understood a good 73% of it and now you have Metal Ground Solid: Ground Zeroes in the works and that weird as hell trailer for The Phantom Pain, which may or may not be Metal Gear Solid 5, or it could be part of Ground Zeroes…..Kojima, that all I got. Kojima.

So let’s add another car to this Metal Gear crazy train and show you the newest trailer for [amazon_link id=”B002I0J8FI” target=”_blank” container=”” container_class=”” ]Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance[/amazon_link], the slice ’em up game that is developed by Platinum Games. In it, Raiden….I honestly don’t know what is going on plot wise but I do know that the gameplay looks fun in a Devil May Cry/Dynasty Warriors way. Can we just cut sh** up and not worry about story? Watch the trailer below.
