  • Star Wars 1313 Developers Want To Take You To Hell

One of the games that really blew me away at E3 this year was Star Wars 1313. It is at least trying something new for a Star Wars game. Focusing on the life of a bounty hunter in a M-rated Star Wars universe, you descend to the lower levels of the capital city of Coruscant and blast your way through your fair share of scum and villainy.

This web documentary gives the developers a chance to show off some of the amazing E3 game footage as well as concept art while they explain what they are attempting to accomplish with this risky entry into the Star Wars universe. Take a look and see what you think.

  • Will Warner Use Justice League To Reboot Batman?

File this under rumor but in parenthesis put BIG. A source has revelaed to Batman-on-Film.com that Warner Bros. is looking to jump head first into the superhero team up pool after The Man of Steel releases next year. And not only that but they would use the Justice League film as the opportunity to reboot Batman and begin to establish him and the other characters in one movie universe.

No we all know that Marvel’s massive Avengers gamble paid off but I think DC may have to take another direction and this may be the best way. With how poorly Green Lantern was received and The Man of Steel not even released, DC has no real way of getting all these characters individual movies and guaranteeing that they will all be hits enough to lead to a Justice League movie. Taking the opposite direction of Marvel may be the answer for DC.

It has already been reported that Warner would like the movie for summer of 2015 which would put it in the same year as The Avengers 2 and they have already (reportedly) been in talks with Ben Affleck and the Wachowskis about directing the film. Ben Affleck has denied any kind of involvement with the movie and although Speed Racer was a massive bomb, Warner still has faith in the Wachowskis to deliver a big time movie.

  • Call Of Duty: Black Ops 2 Care Package Doesn’t Care About Your Wallet

Not to be outdone by Borderlands 2’s Loot Chest, Activision has announced the Care Package for Call of Duty: Black Ops 2. The chest comes equipped with all the bells and whistles that will let everyone know in the parking lot of Gamestop that you love Call of Duty more than anyone. A steelbook edition of the game, excluisive DLC maps, 360 avatars, PS3 themes are what to expect with any type of collector’s edition of a game but the real draw of this has to be the remote-controlled MQ-27 Dragonfire Drone because….well it flies. Yeah.

The Care Package will set you back $180 so get to saving.

  • Seth Green Takes Star Wars On A Detour

The guys at Robot Chicken aren’t done with Star Wars just yet. It was announced last year that Seth Green and Matthew Senreich would continue skewering the Star Wars universe with an ongoing series with the blessing of George Lucas and they have just released a trailer for the show titled Star Wars Detours. The CGI show seems to be going for a PG style humor which still got a few chuckles out of me but I’m pretty sure we won’t see very much robot humping or dismembered limbs and blood. Although Dexter telling Leia how her mom was kind of a moron is plenty funny to me. Check out the trailer.

  • New Game Releases. Week Of August 26, 2012.

    Madden NFL 13 (PS3, 360, Vita, Wii) $59.99-PS3, Xbox/ $49.99- Wii/ $39.99- Vita

It’s Madden. Really, by now you know if you are going to get this or not. Reviews have been better than the past few years but this will mark the eighth year where I will say “There’s no way it can be be better than NFL 2K5 right?”

    Guild Wars 2 (PC) $59.99

With almost every MMO going to a free to play model now or in the near future, it appears that the first Guild Wars was way ahead of the curve and has begun a trend. Guild Wars 2 looks to continue the success of it’s predecessor with a story that is set 250 years after the events of Guild Wars.

Rock Band Blitz (Xbox LIVE, PSN) $15

Music games may be dead (or hibernating…who knows) but Harmonix is not going to let Rock Band fall by the wayside. Reaching back to their roots Rock Band Blitz lets players play through 25 songs on their controllers with a rhythm game that harkens back to their earlier releases, Amplitude and Frequency. Songs include offerings from: Foo Fighters, Avenged Sevenfold, Queen, Barenaked Ladies and more. The 25 song setlist can also be transferred to your Rock Band 3 playlist for no extra cost as well.

Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater HD (PSN) $15

Released a few weeks ago on Xbox, now PS3 owners can share in the retro goodness of the first two Tony Hawk games. Check out my review here

Ratchet and Clank Trilogy (PS3) $29.99

It has already been ten years since the first Ratchet and Clank blasted it’s way onto the PS2 with it’s colorful style, amazing platforming and insane weapon inventory. • Star Wars Episodes 2 & 3 3D Release Dates.

There was a bit of a surprise at the end of of Star Wars Celebration VI this weekend when the release dates for both Attack of the Clones and Revenge of the Sith 3D  were announced and the wait between the two films will be much less than the year apart Lucas and company had initially announced.

Star Wars Episode 2 3D will release on September 20th, 2013 which is a little over a year and a half after Episode 1 was released this past February but they are making up for the extra wait by releasing Episode 3 on October 11, 2013, a mere three weeks later.

Now I didn’t go see Episode 1 in theaters and for good reasons which any self respecting person should know but in my opinion the prequels did get progressively better so I will most likely be attending Attack of the Clones and definitely seeing Revenge of the Sith.

Side note: Has anyone thought how differently the Star Wars movies would be thought of if there was no prequel trilogy, just Episode 3 which I consider a good movie.

  • R.I.P. Neil Armstrong (1930-2012)

Neil Armstrong died today at the age of 82. We just wanted to extend our sympathies to his family and friends. He took the greatest step in human history and made all of us realize that the dreams of science fiction we had were not as much fiction as we thought.

  • Mass Effect 3 Leviathan DLC Gets A Trailer

Mass Effect’s latest single player DLC is about to hit on August 28 and has Commander Shepard searching for a mysterious being known as Leviathan that may be strong enough to destroy a Reaper. The trailer look gives us a glimpse of what looks like some underwater mech action.

Being a Mass Effect nut I am looking forward to diving back into the universe but I am wondering how fans who were critical of the game or it’s ending(s) will feel about playing what can only be called a prequel to a known ending.

Mass Effect 3 Leviathan DLC releases on August 28 on PSN for $10 and Xbox LIVE for 800 MS Points.
