A pair of new trailers for Tiger Woods PGA Tour 14 show how this year’s entry into the franchise will be a celebration of golf’s great history. To go along with the list of modern day stars like Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy, there is a host of legends including the likes of Ben Hogan, Jack Nicklaus and Seve Ballesteros.

The game will feature an all new physics engine as well as player specific swings and classic versions of historic courses.

  • The Walking Dead: Survival Instinct Release Date Change

Fans of The Walking Dead will not have to wait as long to play as the Dixon brothers. Activision has moved up the release of [amazon_link id=”B008J16ARY” target=”_blank” container=”” container_class=”” ]The Walking Dead: Survival Instinct[/amazon_link] by a week to March 19th. This is a very smart move because even for a game with the name The Walking Dead on it, to release it on the same day as Bioshock Infinite was not going to help sales.

The game will have you taking control of Merle and Daryl Dixon as they make their way through Atlanta trying to survive the zombie apocalypse. It is set before the events of the television show.

  • God Of War: Ascension ‘From Ashes’ Live Action Trailer

    gamer-day-sony_175c9

So the guesses were correct the other day when Sony teased us with a short trailer showing a woman walking through a field. It is, in fact, Kratos’ wife as you can see by watching the full version below.

Called “From Ashes”, the live action trailer shows Kratos holding his daughter. She soon begins to break apart and he has flashbacks of his family as a group of soldiers moves in towards him. It is certainly one of Sony’s most ambitious advertisements ever and the company will even be showing a shortened one minute version during the Super Bowl.

God of War: Ascension releases on March 12th. Sony announced a new God of War Playstation 3 bundle with a red console that will release on the same day.

  • Will The Playstation 4 Be Announced On February 20th?

Sony attempted to break the internet last night when they simultaneously announced on their Facebook, Twitter and YouTube pages that “the future of Playstation” would be announced at a news conference on February 20th. This instantly has everyone believing that this is where Sony will officially unveil the Playstation 4.

But wait, I hear you exclaiming. Didn’t Kaz Hirai just say that Sony would let their competitors go first in announcing a new console? Why yes, yes he did.

Who knows what is going on? Maybe Sony had a change in plans. Maybe this was their plan all along to give Microsoft a bit of a mindfu**. Either way all signs point to February 20th being a very huge day in the gaming world.

That is, of course, unless Sony just trolled all of us and plan to reveal the new super, super, Keira Knightley slim PS3.

  • New Iron Man 3 Poster

Paramount and Marvel have released a new poster for Iron Man 3. In it our dear friend Tony Stark appears to be free falling to Earth as his suit breaks apart.

Director Shane Black seems to be taking Tony down a dark road in this third installment of the franchise. With the tone of the trailer released late last year and the introduction of Ben Kingsley as The Mandarin, it looks like Tony’s worst days are ahead of him.

Iron Man 3 will have a Super Bowl ad that will run during the big game this weekend and we will have it here for you on Monday.

Iron Man 3 releases on May 3rd.

  • Killzone: Mercenary Trailer And Screenshots

It looks like it is finally time for the Vita to get the quality shooter it needs and deserves. One of the main selling points of Sony’s handheld, besides the power under the hood, was the whole new world that was opened by having two analog sticks. But the Resistance and Call of Duty franchises have fallen flat on their face in the past year and failed to deliver the FPS experience that the Vita is built for. Killzone: Mercenary is looking to change that. Developed by Guerrilla Cambridge to bring the Killzone experience to our sweaty little palms.

Killzone: Mercenary has you playing as…..wait for it….a mercenary in the midst of the Helghan/ISA war and will take place after the first Killzone. You can essentially play both sides since you will be taking jobs based on who pays you more. It appears the game will have a robust weapons list from which to spend said blood money.

The game simply looks amazing. When the Vita was launched, this was the type of game you knew the system was capable of, it was just a matter of time before someone figured out how to harness the real horsepower. Just watching the trailer you could almost be fooled into thinking you are watching a PS3 trailer.

Check out the video and screenshots below to see how great Killzone is looking so far.

Killzone: Mercenary releases on September 17th.

  • Moon Director To Helm World Of Warcraft Movie

    World_of_Warcraft_Logo_by_wowgeeks

Duncan Jones, director of Moon, Source Code and sometimes son of David Bowie, has taken on the massive job of bringing World of Warcraft to the big screen. The script was originally written by Robert Robat, who penned Saving Private Ryan. Charles Leavitt (Blood Diamond) has been brought on to rewrite the script.

Sam Raimi was supposed to direct the film, but had to drop out after multiple delays. Raimi moved on to direct Oz, The Great and Powerful with Oscar nominated stoner James Franco.

Warcraft fans should be happy with the news. Raimi is a great director but ever since Spider-Man 3….yeah. [amazon_link id=”B002T9H2ME” target=”_blank” container=”” container_class=”” ]Moon[/amazon_link] was one of my favorite sci-fi movies of the past ten years and Jones’ involvement in the project has piqued my interest.

  • Grand Theft Auto 5 Set For September Release

    Grand-Theft-Auto-V

Alright spring games, you may now breathe a sigh of relief. Today Rockstar announced that Grand Theft Auto 5 would be pushed back to September to allow time to polish the game. The game will now launch on September 17th, which should make it one of the last huge releases of this current generation.

Rockstar released a statement on the delay.

“We know this is about four months later than originally planned and we know that this short delay will come as a disappointment to many of you, but, trust us, it will be worth the extra time. GTAV is a massively ambitious and complex game and it simply needs a little more polish to be of the standard we and, more importantly, you require.”

“To all Grand Theft Auto fans, please accept our apologies for the delay, and our promise that the entire team here is working very hard to make the game all it can be. We are doing all we can to help ensure it will meet if not exceed your expectations come September – we thank you for your support and patience.”

  • God Of War Legacy Bundle, For The Kratos Fanatic In All Of Us

    god-of-war-legacy-bundle_1280.0_cinema_960.0

Sony has revealed the God Of War Legacy Bundle, which will coincide with the release of God of War: Ascension this March. The set comes with a garnet red Playstation 3, God of War Saga (which contains God of War 1&2 from PS2 and God of War: Chains of Olympus and Ghosts of Sparta from PSP), a copy of God of War: Ascension and 30 days of Playstation Plus.

All of this Kratos goodness can be yours for only $349 and will be available on March 12th, the same day God of War: Ascension will hit stores.

I personally would not mind a red PS3, but I can not get past the fact the new systems are uglier than Rihanna after a bad date with Chris Brown.

  • Bioshock Infinite ‘City In The Sky’ Trailer

    skylinebankfight_ONLINE1

I guess a more appropriate title for the video should have been Bioshock Infinite “Holy God I Am Actually Having Thoughts That This May Be Better Than The Original” Trailer.

Irrational Games continues to put the want in my heart for [amazon_link id=”B003O6E6NE” target=”_blank” container=”” container_class=”” ]Bioshock Infinite[/amazon_link]. My mind strays to [amazon_link id=”B007CM0K86″ target=”_blank” container=”” container_class=”” ]The Last of Us[/amazon_link] or the new consoles coming this fall but then here comes Bioshock Infinite every few weeks with a new trailer that slaps me in the face and says “don’t forget what you really want”.
