  • Character Profile Videos For Guardians Of The Galaxy, New Poster Revealed

    1392945746877

And with that tagline we see that this will be some fun shit about to go down.

The reason I think Guardians of the Galaxy will ultimately work is that it is so different. Audiences have had seven years to get used to what the Marvel formula is in movies. The only way you do not grow stale is to change things and Guardians is definitely going to be a change.

Now that the first trailer has been released, Marvel is in full-on marketing mode with the poster above as well as individual video profiles for each of the Guardians of the Galaxy. They are only around 30 seconds a piece so give them a watch. We also get our first tiny preview of Bradley Cooper voicing Rocket Raccoon.

Guardians of the Galaxy releases on August 1st.

  • What If We Lived Out Our Video Games?

The folks at Buzzfeed have answered that question with this new video.

Now we aren’t talking about jumping out of a plane with no parachute or going Carmageddon on everyone but rather what will you do with the 746 wheels of cheese you have stored in one of your Skyrim homes.

Of all of these, the skipping dialogue seems the most usable to me. Mostly because I am a dick.

  • Ellie Sure Does Say Sh** A Lot (And F***)

Let’s all be honest, when we were 14 we were talking the same way right?

No? Well maybe I am just fu**ed in the head then.

    How about this?

Let’s all be honest, if we were 14 and lived in a post-apocalyptic society where fungal creatures were turning humans into walking death and all we had to protect us was a shiv we made out of some metal and tape we would be talking the same way right?

No? Well sh**. Aren’t you the patron saint of clean mouth?

  • Max Landis Gives His Thoughts On Man Of Steel

Max Landis, son of Hollywood legend John Landis and screenwriter of [amazon_link id=”B005LAIGPU” target=”_blank” container=”” container_class=”” ]Chronicle[/amazon_link], loves Superman. This is no secret. Last year his YouTube video, The Death and Return of Superman, became an internet sensation garnering over 2 million views. It is funny as hell.

Now he is back giving his thoughts on this year’s blockbuster, Man of Steel, which he is (obviously) very opinionated about. I personally loved Man of Steel and yet still find Landis makes many valid points. It eventually becomes an indictment on superhero movies in general and will surely get some folks riled up.

I like Max Landis. I loved his Death and Return of Superman video and enjoyed the hell out of Chronicle. We didn’t enjoy Man of Steel the same way. Guess what? That is OK. Everyone has opinions and 98.3% of the time they will not be changed by bitching or arguing.

Variety is the spice of life people.

  • Mega64 Journeys Into The Streets

    Journey-Mega-64-660x350

I won’t apologize for that title. I like it and that’s the way it is going to be…….

    ……..

I’m sorry for that title. It’s the best I could come up with on short notice. Just enjoy the video from Mega64 involving the near unanimous Game of the Year for 2012, [amazon_link id=”B008CP6RWU” target=”_blank” container=”” container_class=”” ]Journey[/amazon_link].

You know it is always a quality Mega64 video when the cops get involved and this is no different.

Also, am I the only one wishing they would do one for Saint’s Row where they slap people around with a dildo? I am? Damn.

  • Mega64 Imagines A World Without Gamestop

Have you ever wondered what the world would be like without Gamestop? The rumors that consoles may lock out used games in the future have many thinking that including the guys at Mega64. Their newest video lampoons the Sarah McLachlan ASPCA ads while giving us a woman much, much, much more beautiful.

Also, there is a certain Gears of War creator eating Top Ramen which will become a future gif for my library.

  • Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon Live Action Trailer Is A Real Thing. An Amazingly Real Thing.

If you thought the mere fact that you would get to play a game like Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon was where your 80’s journey would stop, you were way off the mark. This live action trailer titled “The Cyber War” shows exactly how humanity’s war with the androids began. There are VHS tapes, a neon katana blade fight and the thought that you could shield yourself from a nuclear blast by hiding behind a destroyed android carcass.

God I miss the 80’s….then I get on my cell phone and start to play Angry Birds and rethink that. The video is still balls awesome.

  • Skrillex Tries To (Dub)Step All Over Mozart In The Newest Epic Rap Battle

Is there no stopping what the guys at Epic Rap Battles can do? Check out their newest which has the dubstep master Skrillex taking on (arguably) the greatest composer of all time, Mozart. The real winner of this video are the people that made Epic Lloyd look like an exact Skrillex doppelganger. It’s damn freaky.

  • Mega64 Joins The Kickstarter Craze

Kickstarter is truly a unique concept, but it is also a place where some shady shit can go down. I do not mind throwing a couple of bucks towards a project that I want to see come to fruition (Veronica Mars). I won’t, however, throw money at a developer that is known to have plenty of assets and connections to get their project funded.

Leave it to the guys at Mega64 to bring some levity to the whole Kickstarter revolution as only they can. If you actually start to delve into Kickstarter you will begin to notice that some projects are worse than this video which skewers them.

Although zombies are very in these days….
