  • Here Is The First Trailer For Robocop

    RoboCop-2013

After a long wait including a six month release delay, we get to see the first trailer for the reboot of 1987’s Robocop. A lot of people will sh** all over this without even seeing it although I will just go ahead and admit that I am looking forward to it. Will it live up to the campy goodness of the original? No way. There is no Kurtwood Smith in sight, but I am not writing this version off. It has a great cast including Michael Keaton, Gary Oldman, and Samuel L. Jackson. Also, if you have not watched The Killing on AMC, you do not know how good Joel Kinnaman is and I hope he can make this movie shine.

Robocop releases on February 7, 2014.

  • Trailer For 47 Ronin Starring Keanu Reeves

This trailer for the Keanu Reeves samurai epic 47 Ronin at least proves that the movie exist and is getting released. It was originally planned for a November 2012 release and then dated again for February of this year, but was finally pushed back again to Christmas. The initial budget was an already large $175 million then kept climbing to around $225 million. Here is hoping that Universal’s faith in the project pays off.

The first look does leave an impression with a good mix of martial arts and fantasy. I don’t know if audiences will go in droves for the samurai driven film, but I will certainly give it a shot. Where else will you see Ted “Theodore” Logan slice a dude’s head off with a sword?

47 Ronin releases on December 25th.

  • Saints Row IV Is Independent As Sh**

    http://youtu.be/RP42ZBkwp3o

With tomorrow being Independence Day, it is only appropriate that [amazon_link id=”B00BRQN2H4″ target=”_blank” container=”” container_class=”” ]Saints Row IV[/amazon_link] would release a video celebrating all the things that make us great. If a video narrated by Keith David talking about fighting for your freedom from anal-probing aliens does not make you feel patriotic as hell then you need to move to Canada*…or France.

*We here at Nerd Rating love the Canadian people. It is just around July 4th we Americans become more stupid than normal.

Saints Row IV releases on August 20th.

Now this is more like it. While this may be the third trailer for Anchorman: The Legend Continues, it is the first one with actual footage from the movie.

In it, Ron and the Channel 4 News Team have gone their separate ways and are only spoken in legend, but when they are offered to help start the first 24-hour news network in the 80’s you know what that means…a Journey montage!

Anchorman: The Legend Continues releases on December 20th.

  • The Wolf Of Wall Street Trailer Shows Off Fun, Feds And Fraud

I know what you are thinking. Why are you showing us a Wall Street movie starring Leonardo DiCaprio?

All I ask is that you watch the trailer and give it a chance because The Wolf of Wall Street is looking like one of the most entertaining movies of the year. It tells the story of Jordan Belfort, who founded the Stratton Oakmont brokerage firm and led a hard-partying, drug addicted life until he was convicted of securities fraud and money laundering.

The cast includes DiCaprio, Matthew McConaughey and Jonah Hill leading lives of luxury including midget tossing.

Yep, midget tossing. I told you to watch the trailer.

The Wolf of Wall Street releases on November 15th.

  • New Trailer For Elysium. It’s Bourne vs. Murdoch

    elysium1

Here is the new trailer for Neill Blomkamp’s Elysium with a ton of new footage. The trailer actually begins on a humorous note which is a nice surprise before all the drama, exploding things and part-cybernetic Matt Damon. We also find out the true situation for Damon’s rush to get to the favored city in the sky. Blomkamp is obviously sticking very close to the social issues he brought up in District 9.

    Elysium releases on August 9th.

  • First Trailer For Machete Kills Has Machete…Killing

I liked the first Machete. I didn’t love it, but it was enough dumb fun that I was excited when a sequel was announced. Danny Trejo should get an honorary Oscar for the career he has crafted for himself this late in life. Well, at least an honorary Razzie.

The ex-federales assassin is back and on direct order from the president no less. And that president is being played by Carlos Estevez or Mr. Tiger Blood himself Charlie Sheen. That is one great thing about a movie like this, the cast is completely off the wall including the likes of Michelle Rodriguez, Lady Gaga, Mel Gibson and even Cuba Gooding, Jr.

Also I do not recommend watching Spy Kids anytime before this movie comes out unless you want to feel like a complete pervert when Alexa Vega shows up on screen.

    I told you.

Machete Kills releases on September 13th.

  • New Man Of Steel Trailer Brings A Welcome New Feeling

And that new feeling is dread. All of the previous trailers for Zack Snyder’s epic movie have gone the inspirational route and I have loved every one of them, but this new Zod-centric preview shows the true weight of Superman’s dilemma in Man of Steel. Zod is here to kill, maim and destroy and it is not a pretty thing.

    And once again…that soundtrack. Damn.

Man of Steel releases on June 14th.

  • More Batman??? Yep! Here Is The Arkham Origins Trailer

If you are not a fan of Batman, then today is not the day to be here.

WB Games has released the first trailer for Batman: Arkham Origins and while it shows no gameplay, it is over four minutes of Batman and Deathstroke beating the holy hell out of each other. Throw in an appearance by Deadshot and Black Mask pulling a Manhunt on someone and my interest is piqued. Let’s just hope WB Montreal can get the gameplay to match the flow of Rocksteady’s first two entries.

Batman: Arkham Origins releases on October 25th.

  • First Trailer For Gravity Will Take Your Breath Away

Director Alfonso Cuaron’s labor of love, Gravity, is set for an October release and the first trailer looks extraordinary. Sandra Bullock and George Clooney star as two astronauts who are left drifting in space, tethered together when their station is destroyed during a space walk. To me, this is the type of movie I go to the theater for to experience on the big screen and not wait for home release.

    Gravity releases on October 4th.
