Will anything be greater than John Williams’ Superman theme in terms of comic book movies? I will say no, but I’ll be damned if Hans Zimmer is not making a case for his theme from Man of Steel. Now you can go listen to a full track from Man of Steel. It is the music that was heard in the last trailer which begins with a piano solo and works its way up to a finish worthy of Superman.
You can listen to the track here

We are only one day away from the release of Iron Man 3 and the unofficial start of the summer movie season which means we are even closer to the release of Man of Steel. Now if you follow this site regularly, you know that I am counting down the days until June 14th and will be bringing you every bit of information I can as the movie looms closer.
A new TV spot debuted last night as well which you can watch below.

Zack Snyder gave an interview in SFX Magazine about his upcoming Man of Steel and was asked about his impressions of Henry Cavill taking over the iconic role.
“God, he’s so Supermanish it’s crazy! There was a telling moment – we put him in the Christopher Reeve costume, because we didn’t have a suit yet, we just had the old spandex suit. He stepped out of the trailer and no one laughed. It’s the difference between being Superman and dressing up like Superman. If I’m dressed up like Superman it’s like a Halloween costume. If you’re Henry it’s your clothes. It’s awesome. Watch the movie and you’re like ‘Holy shit, that’s Superman.’ And it’s not weird or crazy, it’s just cool.”
Snyder may have given the best explanation about what makes a Superman in that paragraph when he talks about the difference as dressing up as Superman and being Superman.
You can read other excerpts from the interview here. Man of Steel releases on June 14th.
In case you haven’t seen it, here is the newest trailer.
You gotta hand it to Empire Magazine, one of the reasons they get me to spend $10 on a magazine are the wonderful covers they have. Their June issue is no different with a Man of Steel 2-cover set. The first features Henry Cavill in a full shot in Supes attire and the second is Michael Shannon looking menacing and metallic as General Zod. The issue should be on newsstands this Thursday.

Here is the order of things you need to do:
1. Sit down. Preferably on something firm and sturdy.
2. Click to play the new Man of Steel trailer.
3. Notice the goosebumps rising on your arm.
4. Realize how absolutely perfect the score is for the character.
5. When the trailer is done, sit back and give the holiest of shits you possibly can.
(Optional)
6. Repeat daily

I know we are still two months away from the release of Man of Steel, but we just need to accept that these articles are going to keep happening. If you are not a Superman fan I am sure we have plenty of other great articles on here for you such as:
New developer diary from The Last of Us
Star Wars: Shadows of the Empire Retro Achievement List
Win a Bioshock Infinite strategy guide
Still here?
Good.
Now that we have determined you are a Superman fan (or at least a fan of large men in spandex) here are the photos from the Entertainment Weekly summer movie issue which Supes is the cover boy. We get what is probably the best (and most sinister) look at Michael Shannon’s Zod as well as looks at Jor-El, Lois Lane and Perry White, who, ironically, is African-American in this movie, so if you have a problem with that we can’t be friends anymore.
Man of Steel releases on June 14th.

This isn’t really a big piece of news, but let’s face it, it’s Superman. Henry Cavill is this year’s cover boy for Entertainment Weekly’s summer movie issue and director Zack Snyder reveals that Kryptonite will not be in this summer’s Superman adventure. He says that it has been used so often as Superman’s weakness that they wanted to take a different approach this time.
Zod beating the shit out of him is a good start.
Man of Steel releases on June 14th.

DC Collectibles is ready and set to unleash a full line of 1:6 scale statues for Zack Snyder’s huge Superman revival, Man of Steel. Below you can see a very good look at Michael Shannon as Zod. He is looking very non-Terrence Stamp and all badass. Other statues which you can see are Superman himself played by Henry Cavill, the mysterious Faora played by Antje Traue and Jor-El who is obviously played by Russell Crowe who comes with a Kryptonian gun and not a phone to assault people.
Prices have not been revealed for the statues and will be released this spring.
