Here are the newest set of photos from The Hunger Games: Catching Fire. There are ones for Katniss, Haymitch, Cinna, Effie and Caesar and they have a washed out, classic look to them. Lionsgate has plenty of time to change all the posters to say Academy Award Winner Jennifer Lawrence.
I actually prefer this shot.

The Hunger Games: Catching Fire releases on November 22nd.
It looks like Star Wars Episode VII is going to be a full blown reunion. Mark Hamill has already talked about his possible involvement and Latino Review has reported that Harrison Ford is set to return as Han Solo (insert shot first joke here). Now Carrie Fisher is confirming that she will be returning to the galaxy far, far away. She is the first of the three stars to announce this themselves.
Now we just have to keep her off the crazy train for three more years so this movie can get made. That is easier said than done, but where there is a will, there is a high priced Disney employee whose job it will be to follow her around 24-7 to make sure she doesn’t go off on a Wookie sized bender.
And let’s put all of our fanboy expectations into perspective. When Episode VII releases in a few years this is not the Leia of you childhood dreams when you would go hide in a closet.
Excited yet for Iron Man 3? Well if you aren’t then the new trailer just released today should do the trick.
We get a bunch of new footage and a good look at every character including Ben Kingsley’s Mandarin and Guy Pearce’s Aldrich Killian. Tony Stark is left a changed man after the events of The Avengers and The Mandarin finds this time the perfect time to strike.
And try to contain the goosebump feels when Tony and Rhodes make their appearance at the end with an army of Iron Men ready to fight.
The new [amazon_link id=”B004FS8LYK” target=”_blank” container=”” container_class=”” ]Tomb Raider[/amazon_link] releasing today on Playstation 3, Xbox 360 and PC isn’t the only reboot of Lara Croft happening. GK Films purchased the rights to produce a new movie based on the game heroine and they are already hard at work with Crystal Dynamics on bringing Lara back to the big screen.
Crystal Dynamics studio head Darrell Gallagher talked about their relationship with GK Films and how the new Tomb Raider game is influencing the production:
“They are working from this new take that we’ve given them. It’s a good partnership. We’re seeing the challenges through the same lens.
It was important for both of us to have a cohesive version of the franchise. We didn’t want to see a film version that was a continuation of the old Tomb Raider films.”
I think we just all breathed a sigh of relief. A more, gritty version of Lara, who is still early in her development as a adventurer, should make for a much better adventure than the previous two that starred Angelina Jolie when she was still super hot and before all the stealing adoption of African children.
I will go ahead and nominate Camilla Luddington, who portrayed Lara’s digital version in the Tomb Raider game.
Yeah, I would pay ten bucks to watch her for 90 minutes. Then go see a movie with her in it.
I know what you’re thinking. This is another one of those rumor posts like all the Justice League stuff or how many gerbils did Richard Gere really use. I assure you this is real.
Harrison Ford has been cast in Anchorman 2 opposite Will Ferrell and the rest of the Channel 4 News Team. Ford will play television newsman Tom Brokaw in what can only be a satirical way. The movie will take place ten years after the original and re-team the greatest news team ever and place them in New York City, which is German for a whale’s a**hole.
It appears that Bilbo, Gandalf and company have been scared off by the X-Men.
Warner Bros. have delayed Peter Jackson’s third (necessary?) film of The Hobbit from July 18, 2014 to December 17, 2014. The July date was also the opening of Bryan Singer’s X-Men: Days of Future’s Past which is turning into way more than just a sequel to First Class. It is becoming an X-Men all-star movie starring almost every character from the entire franchise.
With The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey closing in on one billion dollars, the move to December should not hurt its box office, even taking it out of a prime summer slot. As of right now the third Hobbit movie will open up in December 2014 unopposed. Much better than fighting with Professor X for moviegoers wallets.
The long rumored sequel to the 2001 classic (it’s a classic, dammit) Super Troopers may finally be getting made this year. Kevin Heffernan has gone on record as saying as much.
Farva had this to say on the long gestating sequel:
“We wrote the script and handed it in to Fox, and now we’re just negotiating the time and the place and hopefully shoot it some time this year. I have to start growing my mustache now.”
Can I just go ahead and say that this has made my day. Broken Lizard has been promising a sequel for ten years, but other projects have gotten in the way. So this is big news that one of the cast has said that the script is officially done.
And the Iron Man 3 poster bonanza keeps on rolling! Today we get a final one sheet showing a beaten to hell Tony floating atop a piece of debris as all the different versions of his suit take off around him. Rumors suggest that during the film Tony makes an Iron Man army that he controls himself thus the armor he is wearing is the Mark 47 with all the other armors being different Mark numbers.
A new trailer will premiere next Tuesday March 5th at 11AM CST.
The Amazing Spider-Man 2 is apparently going for the record for Oscar winners and nominees to be in a comic book movie.
Not content with just Oscar winners Jamie Foxx and Sally Field or Oscar nominee Paul Giamatti, director Marc Webb has gone out and cast Oscar winner Chris Cooper to play the devious Norman Osbourn in The Amazing Spider-Man 2. Osbourn was merely mentioned in the first film and was shown as a shadowy figure on a large television screen inside the Oscorp building.
This is quite the cast being put together for the sequel and whether or not you were on board with the reboot, this cast has to look very impressive. With Foxx playing Electro and Giamatti possibly playing Rhino it looks like Cooper’s Norman Osbourn and Dane Dehaan’s Harry may be getting set up for some big things in a third movie.
I will readily admit I am excited about Riddick. Despite all the crap I give Vin Diesel, I liked [amazon_link id=”B001RTCP1A” target=”_blank” container=”” container_class=”” ]Pitch Black[/amazon_link] and [amazon_link id=”B001RTCP10″ target=”_blank” container=”” container_class=”” ]The Chronicles of Riddick[/amazon_link]. Now this September he and director David Twohy are ready to finish their trilogy. Images have slowly been getting out on the new adventure which will see Riddick stranded on a planet being hunted by the alien inhabitants and hunters trying to collect a bounty on his head.
The newest shot to make its way online has a decidedly Game of Thrones look to it except instead of the doomed Sean Bean on the Iron Throne we get Riddick sitting atop a throne of bones. Why I did not call it the Bone Throne should be painfully obvious to you or any woman I have gone out with.
