  • Marvel Super Heroes Get A Lego Game Of Their Own

    lego-marvel-super-heroes

Lego’s reach is indeed very, very long. Warner Bros. Games has announced that the Marvel superheroes will be starring in their own video game. Traveller’s Tales will be handling the game as usual. They have already developed the Lego games for Star Wars, Harry Potter, Pirates of the Caribbean and Batman (including the amazing Lego Batman 2).

The game will see the Marvel heroes teaming up to try and defeat the evil team of Loki and Galactus, who kind of likes to destroy worlds. There will be over 100 playable characters in the game including the likes of Thor, Iron Man, Captain America, Hulk, Wolverine, Spider-Man, Deadpool, the Fantastic Four and even the Guardians of the Galaxy (movie hype begins here).

[amazon_link id=”B006ZPAYGE” target=”_blank” container=”” container_class=”” ]Lego Batman 2[/amazon_link] was one of the most fun games I played last year so I can not contain my Lego excitement at the chance of playing as Marvel characters.

Lego Marvel Super Heroes will release this fall on every home and handheld console imaginable.

  • New Poster For The Wolverine Is Really….Moody

Logan sure does look like a sad samurai in the newest poster for The Wolverine. Let’s hope being based off of Chris Claremont’s classic Wolvie story can get people to forget about X-Men Origins: Wolverine.

Nevermind, let’s be honest it can’t be forgotten, let’s say forgiven.

The Wolverine releases on July 26, 2013.

  • Call Of Duty: Black Ops 2 Has A “Mighty” Easter Egg

It seems there is a rather cool Easter egg awaiting players of Call of Duty: Black Ops 2. With just a little exploration you can find Mjolnir, hammer to the God of Thunder, Thor.

The hammer is on the mission called Celerium. It is hidden away in a cave embedded in a chunk of rock. It appears that nothing can free the hammer but you never know what Treyarch may have in store . No word yet on any other Marvel items lurking about in the game but Black Ops 2 was just released yesterday.

Take a look at the video walkthrough below to see how to find Mjolnir.

Spidey Goes Reboot And Roddy Piper Is All Out Of Bubble Gum

    [amazon_link id=”B008QZ5PY2″ target=”_blank” container=”” container_class=”” ]The Amazing Spider-Man[/amazon_link]

(Note: Spider-Man releases on Friday, November 9th)

Yes, The Amazing Spider-Man is another superhero origin story but don’t let that keep you from seeing it. Spider-Man 2 is still my favorite of the Spidey flicks but this is easily the second best. Andrew Garfield is better suited for this role than Tobey McGuire and I could watch Emma Stone dust a living room for 90 minutes and pay ten bucks. There are better comic movies out there but believe me, there are far, far worse.

    [amazon_link id=”B008VF0Y0M” target=”_blank” container=”” container_class=”” ]They Live[/amazon_link]

John Carpenter’s cult classic finally gets a Blu-Ray release with what I am officially calling “best Blu-Ray cover of the year”. Let’s face it, you have either never seen this or you have seen it 50 times. This release has audio commentary from John Carpenter and Roddy Piper as well as a new interview with the director and star.

    [amazon_link id=”B009ESIGHI” target=”_blank” container=”” container_class=”” ]The Muppet Christmas Carol: 20th Anniversary Edition[/amazon_link]

The best version of  A Christmas Carol ever told (followed by the Patrick Stewart version and Scrooged). So amazing to think that it has already been 20 years since this classic started spreading its Muppet brand of Christmas cheer.

    [amazon_link id=”B008Y1YJ90″ target=”_blank” container=”” container_class=”” ]Arthur Christmas[/amazon_link]

Santa goes high tech in this tale that shows how Santa is able to deliver all the presents to children but when things go bad its up to bumbling Arthur to save Christmas. Yeah so as you could tell I haven’t watched this because that was the most generic description ever. If you love the holidays (like me) then give it a whirl.

WWE offers up the complete history of one of the most influential groups in wrestling history. The nWo helped WCW go to the top of the ratings and was instrumental in making WWE phase into the “Attitude Era” during the Monday night wars. Includes a roundtable discussion with Kevin Nash, Jim Ross, JJ Dillon and Michael Hayes as well as over 15 matches in their entirety.

  • Watch The Iron Man 3 Trailer

Tony Stark Is Back And Things Are Not Well.

The first trailer for next year’s Iron Man 3 is here and it is taking Tony Stark to a dark place.

The movie is being directed by Shane Black of Kiss Kiss Bang Bang fame who knows a thing or two about action movies and hopefully can give the franchise a boost after Iron Man 2 failed to meet up with its predecessor.

What do you think? Does this trailer get you ready for the beginning of Marvel’s Phase 2?

Iron Man 3 releases on May 3, 2013.

  • Marvel Announces Release Date For Ant-Man

Edgar Wright’s Tale Will Follow Up The Avengers 2.

Marvel Studios have officially announced that the feature film based on Ant-Man will be released in theaters on November 6, 2015 making it the first Marvel release after The Avengers 2.

The adventures of scientist Hank Pym will be directed by Edgar Wright and no casting has been announced yet. There may be a good chance that the character will make an appearance in an Avengers sequel with the movie coming out just six months later.

Edgar Wright has been attached to the project for some time and it looks like it will now become a reality. This isn’t Wright’s first foray into the world of comic movies having directed the amazing Scott Pilgrim vs. the World. He is also know for his movies with Simon Pegg and Nick Frost, Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz. The three are currently filming a new film titled The World’s End set for release next year.

I don’t think that you will see Pym take his turn into domestic violence in his first movie if ever at all. He is famously know for beating his girlfriend The Wasp in comics so I don’t think the best way to convey to the world he deserves his own movie is to have him go Chris Brown in his movie. You gotta save something for Avengers 3

  • Will Warner Use Justice League To Reboot Batman?

File this under rumor but in parenthesis put BIG. A source has revelaed to Batman-on-Film.com that Warner Bros. is looking to jump head first into the superhero team up pool after The Man of Steel releases next year. And not only that but they would use the Justice League film as the opportunity to reboot Batman and begin to establish him and the other characters in one movie universe.

No we all know that Marvel’s massive Avengers gamble paid off but I think DC may have to take another direction and this may be the best way. With how poorly Green Lantern was received and The Man of Steel not even released, DC has no real way of getting all these characters individual movies and guaranteeing that they will all be hits enough to lead to a Justice League movie. Taking the opposite direction of Marvel may be the answer for DC.

It has already been reported that Warner would like the movie for summer of 2015 which would put it in the same year as The Avengers 2 and they have already (reportedly) been in talks with Ben Affleck and the Wachowskis about directing the film. Ben Affleck has denied any kind of involvement with the movie and although Speed Racer was a massive bomb, Warner still has faith in the Wachowskis to deliver a big time movie.
