Here are the quick hits from the world of movies, TV, video games, energy drinks, toe socks, whatever catches our fancy.

    Movies

    Pixar

Yes, we led with Pixar two days in a row. Yesterday, it was because The Incredibles and Ratatouille were being re-released in 3D. Today, it is because Brad Bird, creator, writer and director of the first Incredibles is writing the script for a sequel. If I were not a large man, I would be jumping for joy.

    Maleficent

Disney has released a new trailer for Maleficent and it further makes me feel indifferent about the movie. Why do we feel the need make bad guys likable? Sometimes people are fu**ed up. Let them be that, not some person who was good and became bad because they were made that way by someone more evil.

    Peanuts

Many (like me) were worried when it was announced that a movie would be made from Peanuts. After watching this first teaser trailer I am hopeful that it will retain the spirit of the comic strip and cartoon. There is something about hearing the Peanuts theme that brings a smile.

    TV

    Gotham

Here is the first look of Robin Lord Taylor as Oswald Cobblepot in Gotham. Another notch in the win column.

    Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

Well, I was excited about Deathlok, until the TV budget showed up. New Power Rangers are a go.

    Games

    SimCity

The game finally gets updated with offline play today. Only a year late and when most have given up on the game.

    UFC

EA Sports has released a new trailer for their MMA game coming to Xbox One and PS4 this spring. It is the first extensive look at the graphics in-game and it is looking damn impressive.

    The Incredibles

Here are the quick hits from the world of movies, TV, games, blacksmithing, hummus, whatever catches our fancy.

    Movies

    Pixar

The Incredibles and Ratatouille will be converted to 3D for future re-release in theaters. Never cared for Ratatouille that much, but I will gladly pay handsomely to see Frozone in 3D.

    The Amazing Spider-Man

Marc Webb will not be returning to direct The Amazing Spider-Man 4 (yes, 4). Ease up there Sony, Spider-Man is not The Avengers. Let’s not get too far ahead of ourselves.

    Wolverine

James Mangold will begin work on the follow-up to The Wolverine after X-Men: Apocalypse releases in 2016. With Hugh Jackman recently saying his tenure as the adamantium man is winding down, I can see this being his final hoorah as Wolvie.

    Maleficent

Here is a new banner for Maleficent starring Angelina Jolie. This time she has wings. She gained horns last poster. Slowly they are just revealing she is Satan incarnate before the movie opens.

    TV

    American Horror Story

Writer Douglas Petrie has revealed that the fourth season of the horror anthology show will have a carnival theme in the 1950’s. As fu**ed up as AHS is, this is the perfect setting. Plus, I miss Carnivale and this will fill a need.

    The Walking Dead

Anyone get traumatized by last night’s episode “The Grove”? If you are a comic fan, you are used to this, I want to know the soccer mom reaction.

    Games

    Gauntlet

The classic dungeon-crawler is getting a reboot this summer by WB Games. Check out the trailer below and remember the times wasting too much money on the arcade machine in a Mexican restaurant. Maybe that is just me.

    Watch Dogs

Ubisoft is saying that it will take average players between 35-40 hours to complete the story with some free-roaming while completing the entire game could be around 100 hours. That is worth $60 if true.

  • New Poster For Maleficent Is Horny

    maleficent-poster-angelina-jolie

Don’t get all uppity. You giggled inside at the title.

Disney has revealed a new poster for Maleficent starring Angelina Jolie. I am also assuming this is how she looks to the kids she adopts every morning.

“Please lady from Hackers, may I have some more?”

    “More?!”

  • Maleficent Gets A New Trailer.

    Maleficent-Angelina-Jolie

The first trailer for Maleficent, starring Angelina Jolie, was creepy, moody and got me excited to see the movie.

    This one…not so much.

It has taken away any aspect of this being a movie solely about Sleeping Beauty’s villain and looks like a live-action telling of the children’s novel. I have seen Alice in Wonderland. I have seen Oz: The Great and Powerful. This new trailer makes it look like this will be more of the same instead of something unique.

Take a look and let us know what you think.

    Maleficent releases on May 30th.

  • Teaser Trailer For Maleficent

Disney has released the first trailer for next summer’s Maleficent. Angelina Jolie stars as the evil mistress who sets out to curse Princess Aurora. The movie will show how her character transforms from protector to villain which lead to the events in Sleeping Beauty.

The trailer looks beautiful and already looks like it will be better than this year’s Oz, The Great and Powerful with its dark tones.

Maleficent releases on May 30, 2014.

  • First Maleficent Poster Shows What Brad Pitt Wakes Up To

    Maleficent_38876

Disney has released the first poster for next summer’s Maleficent starring Angelina Jolie as the Sleeping Beauty villain. The trailer for the movie will be released tomorrow but until then you can stare at this poster and wonder just what she is hiding under that costume.

It’s children. The answer is small African children.
