  • Has Assassin’s Creed IV Leaked Already?

Oops. Seems like Kotaku may have uncovered a bit of spoilery news pertaining to the next game in the Assassin’s Creed series.

A picture they have posted show a promotional poster for Assassin’s Creed IV: Blag Flag which has a pirate themed assassin which matches up with some of the earlier rumors which suggested that theme and would be taking place in the Caribbean. So for those of you that the naval battles were your favorite part of [amazon_link id=”B0050SXFKE” target=”_blank” container=”” container_class=”” ]Assassin’s Creed 3[/amazon_link] this will be happy news if this proves to be true.

Now if the guys at Ubisoft were promotional wizards they would combine this game with ads for Black Flag bug spray.

DC Collectibles is ready and set to unleash a full line of 1:6 scale statues for Zack Snyder’s huge Superman revival, Man of Steel. Below you can see a very good look at Michael Shannon as Zod. He is looking very non-Terrence Stamp and all badass. Other statues which you can see are Superman himself played by Henry Cavill, the mysterious Faora played by Antje Traue and Jor-El who is obviously played by Russell Crowe who comes with a Kryptonian gun and not a phone to assault people.

Prices have not been revealed for the statues and will be released this spring.

  • Challenge Accepted: Four For February

    untitled-270rif

2013 is going to hit gamers like a punch in the gut very soon. Between March and May there are no less than five triple-A games set to hit consoles. [amazon_link id=”B004FS8LYK” target=”_blank” container=”” container_class=”” ]Tomb Raider[/amazon_link], [amazon_link id=”B007FTE2VW” target=”_blank” container=”” container_class=”” ]Sim City[/amazon_link], God of War: Ascension, [amazon_link id=”B002I0H2AG” target=”_blank” container=”” container_class=”” ]Gears of War: Judgment[/amazon_link] and [amazon_link id=”B007CM0K86″ target=”_blank” container=”” container_class=”” ]The Last of Us[/amazon_link] will cerainly occupy a lot of your free time. Then you have the new consoles to look forward to.

If you are like me, you probably have a stack of games that have been started and put aside for a later date. Well that is what February is for! An idea was given on a gaming group I am a part of on Facebook (taken from a story on Kotaku) called “Four for February” in which we pick four games that we decide to finish in the 28 days of the month to catch up on the “Pile of Shame” we collect as gamers.

I will be attempting to do this beginning next month and encourage all of you who are besieged by unfinished games crying out for your time to do the same. Let us know what games you would want to attempt to finish in February. Here are my four:

    [amazon_link id=”B0076ZPYPI” target=”_blank” container=”” container_class=”” ]Sleeping Dogs[/amazon_link]

    [amazon_link id=”B0050SYLRK” target=”_blank” container=”” container_class=”” ]Assassin’s Creed 3[/amazon_link]

    [amazon_link id=”B005THAX5Q” target=”_blank” container=”” container_class=”” ]Aliens: Colonial Marines[/amazon_link]

    [amazon_link id=”B0050SWTAQ” target=”_blank” container=”” container_class=”” ]Need For Speed: Most Wanted[/amazon_link]

Will you accept the challenge? Or let your games remain to look sad on your shelf?

  • New Playstation Specs And Controller Leak?

    133020-no-used-games-support-for-next-gen-playstation

A story up on Kotaku is claiming that a source has revealed the specs list (for the development kit at least) for Sony’s new Playstation and that the new controller will be much different from the existing Dualshock. The new controller would have a touch pad much like what comes on the back of the Vita. This may also come on the back of the controller. Along with the new touch tech, the controller may also come with some type of biometric feature and have a share button which may be used for the multiple account user feature that the report also mentions.

I love my Vita, but will go on record saying that I do not like the back touch pad. I don’t mind games that use it properly (Little Deviants) but it is a pain when it is shoehorned into a game. If the reports are true I hope that some new Playstation launch titles won’t have to be forced to utilize this (like Lair for the PS3 Sixaxis).

Go take a look at the complete story over on Kotaku.

  • IGN, Kotaku, Others Hand Out Their Game Of The Year Awards For 2012

    journey2

While our own “Best of 2012” will be out in a little while I thought it would be good to share the games that were honored as games of the year by other sites. There was not a whole of of differing opinions between most of the major video games sites. Take a look below to see which games were 2012’s best and be sure and keep an eye out when we announce our “best of” awards.

    IGN– Journey
    Joystiq– Journey
    Kotaku– [amazon_link id=”B006WQR3V0″ target=”_blank” container=”” container_class=”” ]XCOM: Enemy Unknown[/amazon_link]
    Rev3Games– Journey
    Game Trailers– XCOM: Enemy Unknown

With The Walking Dead winning GOTY at the VGA’s, this year was really a great year for smaller games. XCOM may surprise some people but it is good to see the turn based RTS get back into the premier game talk and on consoles no less.
