  • E3 2014- Damn, Is 2015 Going To Be Awesome

E3 is over. While that may make you sad to hear, remember that E3 is not the end all of gaming shows. Hell, if we are being honest it is barely holding onto third best show after Gamescom and PAX and followed by TGS in fourth.

If this year’s E3 taught us anything it was that 2015 is going to be a clusterfu** of amazing games. There are plenty of fun times ahead this year with Far Cry 4, Dragon Age: Inquisition, Destiny, Shadow of Mordor, Alien: Isolation, Super Smash Bros. and the like, but if we are being honest, companies were squarely focused on the huge titles that will (presumably) be in consoles next year.

If most of these titles hold serve and release next year, 2015 will be one of the biggest years in video game history. Take a look at the lineup expected to hit next year.

Will all of these be released next year? Doubtful (I am looking at you Zelda and Battlefront). Yet, there is an over-abundance of triple-A titles coming in 2015 and then you add in the dozens of indie titles coming, you won’t be able to throw a fat guy in any direction without hitting a good game.

But really, if you can throw a fat guy any kind of distance you should not be playing games. Maybe do those ESPN strong man competitions. Chop wood, flip tires, have a really long name that sounds like an angry German screaming.

You go do that. I will play some games.

  • The Crew Trailer Takes You Coast To Coast

The Crew is a racing title that is showcasing itself as a racing MMO, which may sound a bit weird, yet intriguing. You and your friends can join together and begin a crew (thus the name…durr) and drive around the country completing tasks and racing other crews.

You can drive around the country as a single car, but Ubisoft is hoping you will embrace the team aspect of this racer, which lets you jump from city to city on the fly.

It seems like I will have a tough choice come this fall between The Crew and Forza Horizon 2.

The Crew releases on November 11th.

File this under: Achievement Unlocked- Childhood Dream Attained

I will just go ahead and say it: Nintendo brought it today in their digital event. The star that shone the brightest was the first look at The Legend of Zelda for Wii U.

    OPEN-WORLD! EPONA! WAKE ME UP!

Sorry, I have to catch my breath. I do believe I have the vapors like a southern belle being courted by a suitor. Mine is named Link. He likes smashing pots, excessive grass cutting and fishing.

    Don’t judge me.

  • Alien: Isolation Is The Stuff Nightmares Are Made Of. New Trailer Shown

God, I hate you Colonial Marines.

That is my first thought everytime I see new videos from Alien: Isolation. Creative Assembly continues to show off their love of Ridley Scott’s original Alien in their new trailer. It amazes me how they have absolutely nailed 1979’s future look with an attention to detail that looks to be second to none.

It gives me chills thinking about it. Carefully making your way somewhere, watching out for an enemy that knows your scent and wants to devour you. Kind of like marriage.

Now we just need a digital Yaphet Kotto and all will be well.

Alien: Isolation releases on October 7th.

  • Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End Trailer Is Here.

    My sweet God…

Sony ended their press conference last night with our first look (no, the December tease doesn’t count) at the new Uncharted game titled “Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End”.

In the trailer we see Nathan Drake awakening on a river bank as the familiar voice of Sully discusses one last job with Nate. As with all Uncharted games, we assume things don’t go as planned.

Although this is a cinematic trailer, let’s not forget that this is Naughty Dog, and I would not be surprised if the finished product looked this good.

I have watched this trailer a number of times since last night. I won’t say how many, but needless to say, it is a number that would make you question my time management…or sanity.

    Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End releases Holiday 2015.

  • New Batman: Arkham Knight Footage Takes The Batmobile Out For A Spin

One thing Rocksteady’s Batman games have done is capture the tone and feel of the character and never is that more so than with the new gameplay trailer for Batman: Arkham Knight.

This footage, running on a PS4, shows how beautiful the game is, seamlessly transitioning between the opening cinema to in-game action as Batman begins his glide around Gotham (much quicker this time).

The focal point of this new trailer is how the Batmobile will be used to traverse the city. It drifts around corners deftly and can switch to what Rocksteady is calling “battle mode” at any time. This is where the iconic vehicle becomes a strafing justice machine with a turret so you can take out enemy vehicles.

Batman: Arkham Knight will be five times larger than Arkham City making this feel like a true open-world Batman game. It will release in 2015.

  • Rise Of The Tomb Raider Announced. First Trailer Shown

Well that didn’t take long to make my E3. During Microsoft’s event today, the first trailer for the sequel to 2013’s Tomb Raider was shown.

Called Rise of the Tomb Raider, the trailer features Lara in therapy due to the events in the first game. We see that Laura has been changed by her adventure and is now becoming the Lara Croft we discovered in the days of the original Playstation.

Rise of the Tomb Raider will release Holiday 2015 (please do).

  • How About A Release Date For The Witcher 3? And A New Trailer? Wonderful!

Let’s get E3 week started right with the new trailer for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.

The new trailer shows off the vast landscape the you will traverse as Geralt, the white-haired, stone-faced badass we have all come to love. It looks to be a showcase title for your new consoles.

Get ready to marvel at the beauty and then throw your controller in anger when you die from not stringing attacks together properly on February 24, 2015.
