  • Get Ready For More Bautista As Drax And Less Batista Bombs

    maxresdefault

Reports are that Dave Bautista is restructuring his deal with Marvel to give him more money and more appearances in Marvel movies due to the success of Guardians of the Galaxy.

Bautista’s Drax was one of the best and unexpectedly best parts of Guardians of the Galaxy and it looks like Marvel realizes that with this news. The big part of this is that Drax will play a “significant” role in Avengers 3 which confirms what a lot of people thought that the Guardians will be teaming up with The Avengers to take on Thanos.

The reason I say you will see less of Batista in a WWE ring is simple: why would he want to come back? His return this year was met with negative fan reaction and by the time WWE turned him heel (which he should have come back as), his deal was almost up. Now he is set to be a bigger deal in the Marvel cinematic universe including Avengers 3. Why in the world would he want to go back?

  • The First Guardians Of The Galaxy Trailer Is Here!

    http://youtu.be/pTZ2Tp9yXyM

Marvel finally took the wraps off of James Gunn’s Guardians of the Galaxy with the first official trailer that premiered on The Jimmy Kimmel Show.

We get introduced to the entire team which include Peter Quill (Chris Pratt), Drax the Destroyer (Dave Bautista), Gamora (Zoe Saldana), Rocket Raccoon (voiced by Bradley Cooper) and Groot (voiced by Vin Diesel).

The feel of the trailer is like no other Marvel movie and I mean that in the best way possible. It is amazing watching Chris Pratt for so long on Parks and Rec then seeing him like this, but he fits the role so well with the snarky attitude.

Guardians of the Galaxy is Marvel’s biggest gamble yet. If you are unaware of the comic, did this trailer give you a reason to be excited? If not, don’t worry. There is still plenty of time to change that.

Guardians of the Galaxy releases on August 1st.

  • Michael Rooker Joins Guardians Of The Galaxy, Raises Awesomeness By 200%

Guardians of the Galaxy is shaping up to have one of the most unique casts for a Marvel film by far. Michael Rooker has joined the cast to go along with Chris Pratt, Dave Bautista and the (rumored) addition of Zoe Saldana. Rooker will play Yondu, one of the founding members of the Guardians.

Yondu is from Centauri IV and possesses the ability to have empathic relationships with certain lifeforms and can sense when mystical beings and forces are near.

Let’s just all agree that by adding Michael Rooker, Guardians of the Galaxy just got on a lot more radars, specifically fans of The Walking Dead who might not have heard of the Guardians movie. Although I’m sure Yondu won’t be as much fun as Merle and his stump-handed racism.

Guardians of the Galaxy releases on August 1, 2014.

  • Thanos Is Set To Be Batista Bombed

Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy has found its second member. Chris Pratt was cast a few weeks back as Peter Quill, the Star-Lord and now ex-WWE wrestler Dave Bautista is going to play Drax the Destroyer. Drax is a human that was given another body with special powers to take revenge on Thanos. With the movie’s budget I can be pretty sure that they will not just paint him green like an Orion slave girl from Star Trek.

One interesting thought I just had. How rather odd would it be that Dave Bautista could see his star in Hollywood rise to the same level that The Rock has been working on for ten years after just one Marvel movie?

  • Jason Momoa Turns Down Guardians

Well it seems like the allure of a big box office wasn’t enough to lure Khal Drogo to the Marvel Universe.

Jason Momoa has turned down the role of Drax the Destroyer in Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy. Reports are that the Marvel offer to the actor was quite low, but that has been the story with a lot of actors in Marvel movies (see: Terrence Howard).

I understand the move by Momoa wanting more money, but let’s face it, sometimes you should bite the bullet to get the exposure. Conan and Bullet to the Head didn’t exactly burn up the box office and seeing as how Khal Drogo was a one season affair in Game of Thrones, being in a Marvel flick would have been serious exposure.

Marvel will now go back to their previous list of actors for the role that included Dave Bautista, Isaiah Mustafa and Brian Patrick Wade.
