  • First Look At The CW’s Flash Costume

The first image of a fully-costumed Flash has just been released by The CW. Grant Gustin is playing Barry Allen who was introduced earlier this season on Arrow.

The costume was designed by Oscar winner Colleen Atwood who has worked on Memoirs of a Geisha, Chicago and Alice in Wonderland.

All I can say is that she did a damn fine job and ramps up my excitement for the series.

Production is about to begin on the CW series, The Flash, who was introduced earlier this season on Arrow. They have just released the first image of Grant Gustin as the titular character and from the neck up…it looks pretty faithful.

The show will premiere this fall on the CW.

What do you think of the first look of The Flash? It can never match the goofy wonderfulness of the John Wesley Shipp version but so far, so good.

You don’t? Hell I don’t either, but that is what we are getting this fall when Michael Jai White comes to Starling City as Bronze Tiger. This may be the greatest thing ever to happen on the CW, although the bar is not that high to begin with.

I don’t know if this means we will eventually get a version of Suicide Squad on Arrow, but it’s a start.

And what about those T.J. Miller hand claws White is sporting?

All this episode needs to be perfect now is kung-fu treachery.

The writers of the CW series Arrow have revealed that we will see the introduction of The Flash in the second season of the show and that he will be spun off into his own series. The pilot will be written by series writers Greg Berlanti, Andrew Kreisberg and Mr. DC Geoff Johns.

In a pair of interviews, Berlanti and Kreisberg gave some more insight on exactly what kind of Flash we can expect. Berlanti had this to say in an interview with Deadline:

“Barry Allen’s story always has been a favorite of mine, as well as of Andrew Kreisberg and Geoff Johns. We wanted everyone to know about the show as that process commenced. We think it fits well both in terms of Arrow and as a stand-alone series.”

Kreisberg was asked about how The Flash will fit into the Arrow style in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter:

“When we first meet Barry Allen, he’s just a forensic scientist … an ordinary man. Part of the fun for the audience … is to see how we view our Arrow take on the Flash legacy. Some of it will feel very familiar to DC Comics, some of it hopefully will feel different, fresh and exciting. The same way we approached Arrow is the same way we’re approaching Barry.”

I am more than interested to see what the guys behind Arrow can do for The Flash character. Arrow is one of my favorite shows and if you have not given it a try because it is on the CW then you are missing out. I also would like to know how this affects any plans for the rumored 2016 Flash movie that was talked about at Comic-Con.

Oh, and about the costume. Will it be some kind of Smallville-type crapfest? Kreiberg had an answer for that as well:

“No sweat suits or strange code names; he will be The Flash.”

The series already has a mark in the plus column.

Does Game of Thrones have too much death, tits and incest for your liking? Is your version of drama a good night of One Tree Hill? Then you will definitely want to take a look at School of Thrones, a new web series that has just started on YouTube.

The family warfare mixes with class cliques with very CW-like results. I got a bit of a kick out of it as all the characters were introduced. They were quite clever with matching up the personas well with high school life. Episode 1 is below and Episode 2 will be out on March 17th.

A little tits and incest wouldn’t hurt either.

    Greyjoys!!
