  • Crysis 3 Release Date Confirmed

EA has announced that [amazon_link id=”B0050SY77E” target=”_blank” container=”” container_class=”” ]Crysis 3[/amazon_link] will release on February 19th for Xbox 360, Playstation 3 and PC. Everyone should prepare accordingly meaning if you own an Xbox 360 or PS3 you should pre-order the game and if you own a PC it means it is time to buy a new video card or PC altogether.

People that pre-order the game will receive extra weapons available in multiplayer, a level 5 upgrade and a digital copy of the first Crysis game.

This release date give Crysis a rather slim one-week window before the video game floodgates open on February 26th with Bioshock Infinite. After that it only gets more crowded.

  • Star Trek Into Darkness Teaser Trailer Is Here

Get Ready To Boldly Go Again.

The first teaser trailer for Star Trek Into Darkness has gone up and it does not disappoint even though it only runs a little over a minute.

Villain Benedict Cumberbatch narrates over the trailer with malice and evil intent. I would like to go ahead and say that if he does not steal the movie I will be shocked. His identity is still a mystery with most leaning towards Gary Mitchell from the original series episode “Where No Man Has Gone Before” but there is still a small inkling that he could still be Khan.

Don’t forget that the first nine minutes of Star Trek Into Darkness will be screened before IMAX showings of The Hobbit on about 500 screens next week.

Check out the trailer below and let us know what you think.

  • Dragon Age III Swaps To Next Gen, Influenced By Skyrim

    Bioware Delays Sequel To 2014.

Dragon Age III has officially been moved to next-gen platforms and will see a release date switch from “late” 2013 to “who can guess” in 2014. The switch was announced via an EA level designer’s LinkedIn profile.

Also on the Dragon Age front is Bioware’s Aaryn Flynn saying that the next game will focus heavily on exploration which comes as welcome news to someone who was frustrated by Dragon Age II’s more linear approach. In his interview in the new issue of Game Informer, Flynn also noted that the game can not help but to be influenced by the massive success of Skyrim.

“You can’t look at a game like Skyrim and not think about how impressive what they’ve accomplished is — or [think] that’s an interesting new direction or that there was something that didn’t work well for them that we could take in a new direction.”

Let’s just hope they don’t take too much away from Skyrim and make DA3 unplayable on Playstation 3’s.

  • Black Ops 2 Crosses 1 Billion Dollar Mark

So I Am Assuming You Are Still Entertained?

[amazon_link id=”B007XVTR5S” target=”_blank” container=”” container_class=”” ]Call of Duty: Black Ops 2[/amazon_link] continues on its record breaking pace and proves that it is not near any kind of decline.

The newest game in the Call of Duty series has grossed 1 billion dollars in its first 15 days of release, one day faster than last year’s Modern Warfare 3. Every year people begin to wonder if this is the year that Call of Duty hits a saturation point and every year sales indicate that the military shooter is still the biggest gaming event of the year. Now we know this can’t last forever but who can blame Activision for riding this train for as long as they can.

Activision Blizzard’s Bobby Kotick had this to say about sales of the newest Call of Duty.

“The release of Call of Duty has been one of the most significant entertainment events of each of the last six years. Since Call of Duty was launched, cumulative franchise revenues from players around the world are greater than current worldwide box office receipts to date for the top-10 grossing films of 2012 combined. Life-to-date sales for the Call of Duty franchise have exceeded worldwide theatrical box office receipts for Harry Potter and Star Wars, the two most successful movie franchises of all time.”

  • Skyrim Dragonborn DLC Is Out, Good News For PS3 Owners

Today sees the release of Skyrim’s third DLC pack, Dragonborn. In it you will travel to the island Solstheim (of Morrowind fame) and hunt down a resurrected person who is claiming to be the first of the Dragonborn.

Now you PS3 owners, I know you have probably already given up on your Skyrim experience and really who can blame you? But Bethesda had some good news for you also saying that the Dragonborn DLC WILL  be making its way onto the system in early 2013.

It is truly baffling how Bethesda has not figured out a way to get their PS3 technical issues worked out even now over a year after its release. But it looks like better times are on the horizon Playstation fans.

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Dragonborn is available on XBL and costs 1600 MS Points.

  • Bioshock Infinite Cover Art

Here is the cover art for Bioshock Infinite, one of our most anticipated games of 2013. It certainly is….a cover.

For such a creative group of guys at Irrational Games you have to admit that the cover is pretty standard. We will just call it “Frontward Facing Uncharted” for lack of a better term.

I still have no doubts that this game will live up to its lofty expectations but there is no denying this is pretty uninspired. But I guess if you want the masses that are unaware of your game to give it a try you can never go wrong with “guy holding gun and fire”.

Bioshock Infinite releases on February 26, 2013.

  • Aliens: Colonial Marines “Concept To Game” Video

Here is the newest video from developer Gearbox for their upcoming game Aliens: Colonial Marines.

This short video shows a sample of the concept art of Hadley’s Hope and how it has been translated into the virtual world. It is a nice look at the exterior of the planet and see how exactly decimated it is since Ripley and Bishop let it go nuclear at the end of the movie Aliens. Gearbox is doing a good job of giving people just enough to get excited about the game without showing off too much.

Aliens: Colonial Marines releases on February 12, 2013.

  • The Walking Dead Shooter Gets Reedus And Rooker

Not to be confused with Traveler’s Tale’s amazing game of the same name, Terminal Reality has there own game named The Walking Dead coming next year. This game will be a first person shooter and will follow two of the TV shows main characters, Merle and Daryl Dixon.

The Walking Dead: Survival Instinct will be published by Activision and release in 2013 and show how the two brothers made their way to Atlanta as the world falls apart around them. And to add to the realism of the characters the developers have announced that they have gotten Michael Rooker and Norman Reedus to reprise their roles in the game. So get ready to play as everyone’s favorite racist redneck brothers as they stab and crossbow their way through the zombie apocalypse.
