    2622959-2838229946-Blood

Dark Souls publisher FromSoftware’s PS4 exclusive, Bloodborne, will release on February 6, 2015. This was announced at TGS today (or last night, I don’t do time change) as well as the news that a collector’s edition will be available.

As you can see it is a scaled down collector’s edition which is what these things used to be before we had $250 giant titan statues. It will cost $79.99.

If Dark Souls is any indication, I would be prepared to throw your PS4 controller multiple times.

Check out the new trailer below.

  • Where Is The Destiny Review?

    destiny_05

Destiny has been out for a week and we wanted to assure you that a review is coming. Actually reviews are coming. We will be doing multiple reviews because we think this game deserves varied opinions.

There is a lot to take in with Destiny especially when reviewing it. We want to make sure every aspect of the game has been played so we can form an honest opinion about Bungie’s new IP. There are some who released reviews early for the sake of being first and some who put lots of time in before giving final judgment. We want to be the latter.

I can tell you that the reviews you see from us will be from hours and hours of gameplay and only be available when we feel we have a firm opinion on every piece of Destiny.

Destiny was released this week and while I am sure I am not the only one enjoying his (or her) time with it, I have this huge box sitting at my feet that is loaded with goodies. Let’s take a quick look at what is inside the Destiny Ghost Edition through my extremely professional photography.

I am available for weddings, quinceaneras and bar mitzvahs.

  • Happy 15th Birthday, Dreamcast

    2419863-dreamcast_console_set

Fifteen years ago today, September 9, 1999, saw the release of the Sega Dreamcast.

Like any true hoarder, I still have my Dreamcast to this day along with my original VMU with a stack of games that include: Rainbow Six, Sonic Adventure, ECW Hardcore Revolution (I didn’t say they were all good), Resident Evil: Code Veronica and more. Every now and then I will take a stroll down memory lane and plug it in and it seems only fitting to do so again soon with it turning the big 1-5.

Sega’s last console was so far ahead of its time that it still is a shame it did not have a long lifespan. It was the first console built for gaming online (56K still counts) and the memory units (VMU) were a great way to take your home gaming to other places, even if it was extremely limited in capability. I remember seeing Resident Evil: Code Veronica for the first time and having one of those jaw-dropping moments.

Still a shame that 3D Sonic games hit their peak with the Dreamcast. Poor blue bastard.

Happy Birthday, Dreamcast. You deserved better.

  • Batman: Arkham Knight Releasing June 2, 2015, Collector’s Editions Revealed

    Batman-Arkham-Knight-gotham

We have to wait a bit longer than expected to play Rocksteady’s final Batman game and by a bit longer I mean “damn, that is a long ass wait”.

Batman: Arkham Knight will release on June 2, 2015 for Xbox One, PS4 and PC.

To ease the pain of waiting (or make it worse), two special editions for the game has been revealed. The Batmobile Edition will come with a transforming Batmobile statue, skin pack, art book and steelcase. The set will cost $199.99.

The Limited Edition will be $99.99 and come with the art book, steelcase, Batman: Arkham Knight #0 comic, skin pack and Batman Memorial statue.

While the release is much later than anyone thought, this should give Rocksteady loads of time to make the game meet their standards.

  • Mortal Kombat X Release Date, Goro Returns

    Mortal-Kombat-X-screenshot

NetherRealm will release Mortal Kombat X, the tenth installment in the franchise in case you couldn’t tell, on April 14, 2015 and along with the date comes the news that Goro will be a playable character in the new game.

Goro will be available as a pre-order bonus which may piss off some people, but really, just go pay five bucks and get the four-armed bastard.

Remember the first Mortal Kombat movie? Looking kind of close.

  • Trailer For Resident Evil’s Re-Re(?)-Release

    I told you, I don't want a damn Watchtower.
    I told you, I don’t want a damn Watchtower.

Remember the first time zombie dogs jumped through the windows of that creepy ass mansion and may (or may not) have made you yell out obscenities in front of your mother along with a dribble of pee?

You may not have the same memory, but you get what I am saying.

Capcom is releasing an updated version of the first Resident Evil to remind us about how great the franchise used to be. The update is based off of the Gamecube release in 2002. They are taking that prettier version and making it prettier I would assume.

See the first trailer for the game below. It will release digitally in early 2015 for Xbox One, PS4, Xbox 360, PS3 and PC.

  • Best Thing Today: Watch Someone Kill EVERYTHING In Fallout 3

Fallout 3 is one of the greatest games of the last generation. It was so good at conveying a grand sense of scope and character choice. Now, YouTube user Many A True Nerd has taken psychopathic gaming to the extreme in the best possible way.

He spent seven months killing everything, EVERYTHING, in Fallout 3.

If there is one thing we can learn from the first video, it is that Liam Neeson will only take roles where he is immortal.

Kotaku has the whole story in their article. Check out the complete series of Many A True Nerd’s videos on YouTube.

  • New 3DS Revealed With Second Analog Stick, Faster CPU And Much Rejoicing

    New-Nintendo-3DS-21

Well I am certainly glad I did not get a new 3DS a few weeks ago like I wanted.

Nintendo announced a new 3DS today aptly named “New 3DS”. It will come in both regular and XL models and makes use of the word “new”.

    New-Nintendo-3DS-

A second analog stick is the biggest addition to the system. Located on the right side above the A,B,X and Y buttons, Nintendo is calling the new analog stick the C-Stick, which is great for us Gamecube lovers. I am wondering just how the C-Stick will feel to people with large hands, or in my case, fat hands. It is more of a nub or as I am calling it: a gaming nipple.

Two new shoulder buttons (ZL and ZR) will be available also, making games that use both analog stick easier to use with more readily available buttons. The A,B,X and Y buttons have also been given a color change to resemble the Super Famicom buttons.

The bottom screen has an NFC reader in it for use with the Nintendo Amiibo figures that will be available this fall. Also, a new CPU will make for faster downloads and browsing on eShop.

Think it ends there? Nope. Nintendo is also is making the top and bottom shells removable to customize your New 3DS. Take a look at the options below.

The New 3DS will release this fall in Japan with a 2015 release here (by here I mean Merica).

  • Here Is Mario Kart 8’s DLC. A New Reason To Hate Your Friends

    38221_1_8a1dbf68b9

Mario Kart 8 will be giving you new courses to curse at and new characters to hate as they hit you with a blue shell before you hit the finish line with two DLC packs.

The first will release in November and come with Link, Cat Suit Peach, Tanooki Suit Mario, four new vehicles and eight new courses.

The second releases in May 2015 with Isabelle, Villager, Dry Bower, four new vehicles and eight new courses.

Best part of this is the price. Each pack will cost $7.99 or $12.99 for both. So for 13 bucks you get six new characters, eight new vehicles and sixteen (16!) new courses. Get ready for more bad words than you can imagine.

If you want a little sample of what I mean, check out our Mario Kart 8 review.
