  • Joss Whedon Announces: No Avengers 2 Without RDJ

In a recent interview, Joss Whedon announced that he will not direct Avengers 2 unless Robert Downey, Jr. returns as Iron Man.

“He is Iron Man in the way that Sean Connery was James Bond. I have no intention of making Avengers 2 without him, nor do I think I’ll be called upon to do that. I don’t think it’s in my interest, Marvel’s interest, or his interest, and I think everything will be fine.”

You can read the interview here.

Avengers 2 is expected to start shooting early next year with a release in 2015.

  • Game Of Thrones “The Rains Of Castamere” Reactions Video

    *Spoilers In Video Ahead*

Well, it finally happened. The infamous RW. I waited not so patiently for three years for last night just to see the social media explosion and I was not disappointed in the least! If there is one thing about Game of Thrones (and George R.R. Martin), it is that you are fully vested in these characters and when an episode like “The Rains of Castamere” happens you are going to get a strong reaction.

    How strong you may ask?

Well let’s take a look at a small sampling from YouTube last night of fans who filmed their friends and families watching the scene. I love the giggles of the fans who have obviously read the books as they watch their comrades absolutely LOSE. THEIR. SHIT.

    Once again I must say:

Do Not Watch If You Have Not Watched “The Rains Of Castamere”!

  • Pics Of Winter Soldier From Captain America 2. Bionic Arm Is In Effect.

    WinterSoldier BEST

Now here is the real deal shots I have been looking forward to. Some quality pics of Winter Soldier from the set of Captain America: The Winter Soldier shows, once again, that the Cap franchise is the one that sticks the closest to the source material. The former (scroll over for spoiler) Bucky Barnes is looking completely and wonderfully badass with his mask and cybernetic arm. These shots should make fans of Winter Solider (i.e. me) very excited to see what the second Cap movie has in store.

Captain America: The Winter Soldier releases on April 4, 2014.

It seems that even downplaying M. Night Shyamalan’s part in After Earth had no effect on its box office. It bombed anyway. The father/son combo sci-fi piece starring Will and Jaden Smith could only manage a third place finish behind last week’s champ Fast & Furious 6 and the magicians of Now You See Me. After Earth’s weekend total is the worst opening for a Will Smith summer movie in twenty years.

    1. Fast & Furious- $34.5 million/ $170.3 million

    2. Now You See Me- $28.0/ $28.0

    3. After Earth- $27.0/ $27.0

    4. Star Trek Into Darkness- $16.4/ $181.1

    5. Epic- $16.4/ $65.1

    6. The Hangover Part III- $15.9/ $88.0

    7. Iron Man 3- $8.0/ $384.7

    8. The Great Gatsby- $6.2/ $128.2

    9. Yei Jawaani Hei Deewani- $1.6/ $1.6

    10. Mud- $1.2/ $16.8

  • First Trailer For Machete Kills Has Machete…Killing

I liked the first Machete. I didn’t love it, but it was enough dumb fun that I was excited when a sequel was announced. Danny Trejo should get an honorary Oscar for the career he has crafted for himself this late in life. Well, at least an honorary Razzie.

The ex-federales assassin is back and on direct order from the president no less. And that president is being played by Carlos Estevez or Mr. Tiger Blood himself Charlie Sheen. That is one great thing about a movie like this, the cast is completely off the wall including the likes of Michelle Rodriguez, Lady Gaga, Mel Gibson and even Cuba Gooding, Jr.

Also I do not recommend watching Spy Kids anytime before this movie comes out unless you want to feel like a complete pervert when Alexa Vega shows up on screen.

    I told you.

Machete Kills releases on September 13th.

  • John Noble On Star Wars: “Not Beyond The Realm Of Possibility”

Among the many rumors swirling around J.J. Abrams Star Wars Episode VII my favorite is easily the one that involves the director wanting his Fringe star John Noble to play a part. In a recent interview with IGN, the former Walter Bishop was asked about said rumor and Noble was more than willing to venture into the galaxy far, far away.

“That would just be epic doing something like that. And it’s not beyond the realm of possibility. I have a terrific relationship with J.J. Abrams and Bad Robot, I really do. So it’s not beyond the realm of possibility. It’s awhile away yet.”

Noble was then asked what it would be like joining up with a franchise as big as Star Wars especially given his work in The Lord of the Rings trilogy.

“Well, I mean Star Wars. If you’re going to do one, do Star Wars. I mean seriously, if you’re going to pick one to do, do that one. Because that’s basically a cultural revolution. It reset pop culture in some ways. So if I had to choose one, it would be that one.”

Look, you can bring back your Hans, Lukes and Leias all you want, as of right now I basically have two requirements for Episode VII.

    1. Billy Dee Williams

    2. Walter Bishop, Sith Lord

After that, everything else is gravy.

It was the heavyweight battle of Fast & Furious 6 vs. The Hangover Part III and it wasn’t even a contest. Diesel, Walker and The Rock KO’ed The Wolfpack with ease in the biggest Memorial Day ever at the box office.

Totals are for the four day Memorial Day weekend.

    1. Fast & Furious 6- 120.0 million/ 120.0

  • Seal the Deal – Arrested Development Season 4 Launch

    AD Promo

I have to physically restrain myself from filling this article with inside gags, but I think I will manage; doing otherwise might alienate a few readers, and that would be a huge mistake.

    See what I did there?

If not, then I have some great news for you: Arrested Development has a whole new season to enjoy thanks to Netflix! Except, wait, if you didn’t get the joke, it means you haven’t seen the first three seasons…

Let me start over, since I may have just blown my wad on what was supposed to be a dry run, and now this whole article is a bit of a mess on my hands.

After a completely foreseeable cancellation that still caught everyone by surprise, A.D. is back for another fifteen episodes exclusive to the aforementioned streaming video service. The episodes went up yesterday, and I have already finished my initial viewing; after all, I have to give you good people a review by the end of the week. If you’re a fan of the show, you really shouldn’t be reading this anyway; you should be watching them. Go watch them.

If you aren’t a fan of the show, I have great news for you as well: The entire series was just re-released on DVD with new packaging and is currently [amazon_link id=”B00CE4L28E” target=”_blank” container=”” container_class=”” ]Amazon’s TV Deal of the Week at just $25.[/amazon_link]

Of course, you could just use a fake e-mail address to sign up for a one-month free trial of Netflix, which has all three original seasons as well as the new episodes… But you really expect the guy with the $25 deal to not tel you about it? C’mon!

  • Two New Man Of Steel TV Commercials With New Footage

Two new TV spots for Man of Steel are here featuring new footage of Zack Snyder’s epic feeling movie. More action and more Russell Crowe are the name of the game.

Man of Steel releases on June 14th.

  • At least this Apocalypse Movie has Anna Kendrick

A new trailer was recently released for the apocalyptic comedy Rapture-Palooza.

It has talking crows.  And they’re mean talking crows.  If the original trailer wasn’t already amusing enough (which to me, it was — I mean, the guy hits Jesus!), this one just made the movie look so much better.

Read more about Rapture-Palooza here.  The movie should be in theaters on June 7th.
