Lionhead Studios revealed the next entry in the Fable franchise at Gamescom and it is taking it in an exciting new direction.

    Fable Legends will be an [amazon_link id=”B00CMQTVMI” target=”_blank” container=”” container_class=”” ]Xbox One[/amazon_link] exclusive title which will feature five-player co-op.

    Why five, you may ask?

Well, four friends will take control of four different character classes including a cocky prince character, a burly archer, a female mage and another female with a rather huge wooden shield to take on the forces of evil in the land of Albion. The twist comes in the fifth player who will be playing the role of villain. They will be able to view the world from a top-down perspective and will have control over the enemies the heroes face as well as setting up traps and other nefarious means to defeat the doers of good.

Intrigued yet? I know I am.

You are able to play Fable Legends as a single-player experience with AI taking over the other four roles in the game, but the game is being built to be fully enjoyed with five friends online.

No release date was given for Fable Legends. Check out the trailer below narrated by the wonderful Michael Gambon, who should really do narration for everything from airplane safety videos to feminine hygiene. His voice is that soothing.

  • Will Star Wars Episode VII Release Date Break From Tradition?

    Star-Wars

We all know that Disney has promised that Star Wars Episode VII is coming in 2015. They even said as much at their D23 conference. Everyone automatically assumed that the return of the legendary franchise would take place in May, which is its normal tentpole month.

    Maaaaybe not.

Badsass Digest is reporting from multiple sources that Disney may, in fact, release Episode VII in December of 2015, possibly in the middle of the month.

Merry Sithmas to us. ( I feel bad for that…I apologize)

The reasoning is sound for Disney to want to do this. With filming set to begin early next year, it only leaves J.J. Abrams and crew a little over a year for shooting and post work including special effects, etc. For a film the size of Star Wars that is not a very big window. So Disney is reportedly looking to push the date to December to afford Abrams more time to make the film right and not feel rushed.

This also would get it out of the huge sharknado that is the summer of 2015 which will see the release of Avengers 2, Batman/ Superman, Pirates of the Caribbean 5, Jurassic Park IV and more.

    Microsoft is at Gamescom in full force and have released this trailer focusing on all the games that will be coming to the [amazon_link id=”B00CMQTVMI” target=”_blank” container=”” container_class=”” ]Xbox One[/amazon_link] including: [amazon_link id=”B00DB9JYFY” target=”_blank” container=”” container_class=”” ]Titanfall[/amazon_link], [amazon_link id=”B00DB90AHA” target=”_blank” container=”” container_class=”” ]Dead Rising 3[/amazon_link], [amazon_link id=”B00CMQTTQG” target=”_blank” container=”” container_class=”” ]Forza 5[/amazon_link] and more.

With all of Microsoft’s policy shifts in the past few months it certainly looks like they have turned a corner going into the launch of their new system. While the PS4 has the better price and positive feedback with gamers (including me) I can not deny that the Xbox One launch lineup has me more excited.

Kick-Ass and Hit Girl were no match. For this week they faced the wrath of The Butler. Lee Daniels’ film about Cecil Gaines and his life of serving under eight presidents easily took the top spot with $25 million. We’re the Millers and Elysium had strong second weekend showings which left Kick-Ass 2 coming up with only $13.5 million which is even below the low expectations of $17-19 million. I guess Jim Carrey really didn’t have anything to worry about with the vilence of the movie since not a lot of people are going to see it in the first place.

    1. The Butler- $25.0 million/ $25.0 million

    2. We’re the Millers- $17.7/ $69.5

    3. Elysium- $13.6/ $55.9

    4. Kick-Ass 2- $13.5/ $13.5

    5. Planes- $13.1/ $45.0

    6. Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters- $8.3/ $38.9

    7. Jobs- $6.7/ $6.7

    8. 2 Guns- $5.6/ $59.2

    9. The Smurfs 2- $4.6/ $56.9

    10. The Wolverine- $4.4/ $120.4

2K Sports have revealed the alternate cover for WWE 2K14 as decided by a contest the company held and the winner is everyone’s favorite “YES” man, Daniel Bryan. Mike Rodriguez of Corona, CA was chosen as the winner and to prove that the love for the bearded wonder is worldwide, Alexis Zankowitch of Martin-le-Vinoux, France was chosen as the alternate cover for the overseas regions also featuring Daniel Bryan.

WWE 2K14’s original cover features The Rock, but let’s face it, who is going to swap their covers right when they get home? (raises hand)

I am a little bummed that my entry of a Kronik cover went unnoticed.

    [amazon_link id=”B00CMC6HCY” target=”_blank” container=”” container_class=”” ]WWE 2K14[/amazon_link] releases on October 29th.
