  • Nintendo’s New 3DS Releasing February 13th

    new3ds-780x438

It won’t be very long before you can get your hands on the New 3DS. You can get the new handheld on February 13th for $199. The only colors available will be red and black and it will not come with an AC adapter because…Nintendo. Any old 3DS adapter you have will work, unless you are a new adopter or someone that is buying a new 3DS after a few years of not having one (me), in which case, you will need to add $15 to your total.

There will be a special edition for The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask which you can find on eBay because it is already sold out and people want to use your love of a childhood memory to pay way more than you should for the handheld.

A special New 3DS will come with Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate as a Gamestop exclusive as well with a copy of the game for $229.

There is a smaller New 3DS that is available worldwide. Nintendo decided not to bring it here because everything is bigger in Texas, hamburgers, Red Bull, Merica likes it big. I guess.

  • E3 2014- Damn, Is 2015 Going To Be Awesome

E3 is over. While that may make you sad to hear, remember that E3 is not the end all of gaming shows. Hell, if we are being honest it is barely holding onto third best show after Gamescom and PAX and followed by TGS in fourth.

If this year’s E3 taught us anything it was that 2015 is going to be a clusterfu** of amazing games. There are plenty of fun times ahead this year with Far Cry 4, Dragon Age: Inquisition, Destiny, Shadow of Mordor, Alien: Isolation, Super Smash Bros. and the like, but if we are being honest, companies were squarely focused on the huge titles that will (presumably) be in consoles next year.

If most of these titles hold serve and release next year, 2015 will be one of the biggest years in video game history. Take a look at the lineup expected to hit next year.

    Yoshi’s Woolly World

    Star Wars: Battlefront

    Xenoblade Chronicles

    Dead Island 2

Will all of these be released next year? Doubtful (I am looking at you Zelda and Battlefront). Yet, there is an over-abundance of triple-A titles coming in 2015 and then you add in the dozens of indie titles coming, you won’t be able to throw a fat guy in any direction without hitting a good game.

But really, if you can throw a fat guy any kind of distance you should not be playing games. Maybe do those ESPN strong man competitions. Chop wood, flip tires, have a really long name that sounds like an angry German screaming.

You go do that. I will play some games.

File this under: Achievement Unlocked- Childhood Dream Attained

I will just go ahead and say it: Nintendo brought it today in their digital event. The star that shone the brightest was the first look at The Legend of Zelda for Wii U.

    OPEN-WORLD! EPONA! WAKE ME UP!

Sorry, I have to catch my breath. I do believe I have the vapors like a southern belle being courted by a suitor. Mine is named Link. He likes smashing pots, excessive grass cutting and fishing.

    Don’t judge me.

  • Zelda And Dynasty Warriors Make Sweet, Sweet Love. Hyrule Warriors Is Born

Do you like your hack-n-slash games with an Asian feel? Have you played any of the 38 (safe estimate) Dynasty Warriors games? Nintendo is giving you the ability to take your skills to Hyrule. Tecmo Koei is making Hyrule Warriors for the Wii U and will see Link Master Sword his way through thousands of enemies. It will release in 2014.

I am sure Robin Williams will be excited.

    Still waiting on Zelda U.

2K is back to defend its b-ball crown, The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker gives Wii U owners a reason to get excited and one of the most unique looking games ever comes to PSN. Also, the 3DS keeps its library growing with Etrian Odyssey and Rune Factory.

  • Wii U Getting A Price Drop

    And the heavens open up.

On September 20th you will be able to buy a Wii U for $299.99. The system’s 32GB model will be getting a $50 price reduction and come in two models: the existing set with NintendoLand and a new one that comes with The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker and a special edition Gamepad.

$50 is not the drastic cut I think the Wii U needs, but it is a start and at least shows that Nintendo knows that something has to be done to save the system. If the drop and a strong fall lineup do not bring up dismal sales, Nintendo is going to have some tough decisions ahead when it comes to the future of the console.

For [amazon_link id=”B009AGXH64″ target=”_blank” container=”” container_class=”” ]Wii U[/amazon_link] owners it has been a tough 2013. Releases have been slim to none, but now it looks like you are in store for a good bit in the next few months. [amazon_link id=”B0050SWBAE” target=”_blank” container=”” container_class=”” ]Pikmin 3[/amazon_link] just released a few weeks back and [amazon_link id=”B002I08CSW” target=”_blank” container=”” container_class=”” ]The Wonderful 101[/amazon_link] is coming on September 15th.

Now it looks like October will get you another release. The HD remake of [amazon_link id=”B002I0GF72″ target=”_blank” container=”” container_class=”” ]The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker[/amazon_link] will be on shelves October 4th. One of the most beloved Zelda titles ever is looking more beautiful with each new video and screenshot and should give Wii U owners a real reason to enjoy their console. God knows they need it.

During the Nintendo Direct today, a new trailer for the HD remake of The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker was shown and there is no other way to say it…this game is freaking beautiful. Wind Waker was always the dark horse of the Zelda franchise (despite being the brightest…irony), but has grown to be loved in the ten years since its release. The Wii U version will come with a new feature called the Tingle Bottle. Despite sounding oddly dirty, the new feature will let Wii U messages randomly show up on the shore in players games so, like Sting, you can have a message in a bottle.

The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker releases this October for Wii U.

  • First Video Of The Legend Of Zelda: A Link To The Past 2

    http://youtu.be/6oaS9yBGbmU

We brought you some shots yesterday from A Link to the Past 2, but here is the official announcement video which features the first look at gameplay of the 3DS sequel.

With Fire Emblem and Luigi‘s Mansion both selling huge and Mario Party, Mario and Luigi: Dream Team, Bravely Default, Donkey Kong Country Returns and A Link to the Past 2 coming it is hard to deny that the 3DS has the best looking lineup of any system going right now.
