It seems like there are a lot of people that appreciate quality shooters with a quirky style and loot galore. 2K Games has announced that [amazon_link id=”B0050SX9VO” target=”_blank” container=”” container_class=”” ]Borderlands 2[/amazon_link] is close to shipping 6 million copies of the game since its release last September.

Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick had this to say about the success of Borderlands 2:

“Building on its extraordinary launch in September, Borderlands 2 continues to expand its audience and remains on pace to become the highest-selling title in 2K’s history. It has also been the largest contributor to our digitally delivered revenue this year, driven both by strong sales of full game downloads, and high attach rates for the title’s add-on content, especially the Borderlands 2 Season Pass.”

With almost 6 million copies of the game out in the wild (actual sale numbers were not given), I would love to know just how much money has been looted total in all the games. I can’t think of a number that high.

  • Assassin’s Creed 3’s ‘King Washington’ DLC Releases This February

One of the more interesting announcements before [amazon_link id=”B0050SYLRK” target=”_blank” container=”” container_class=”” ]Assassins’s Creed 3[/amazon_link] released last year was the announcement of a three-part DLC  pack called The Tyranny of King Washington, which takes a look at an alternate reality in which George Washington becomes mad with power and transforms into America’s king instead of first president.

Today it was announced that the first part of the DLC pack would be released on February 19th. The title of Part 1 will be The Infamy and costs $9.99 (800 MS Points) or you can buy the Season Pass for all the DLC for $29.99 (2400 MS Points). For the eight of you that have Assassin’s Creed on the Wii U, the DLC will be available later this year.

  • Waiting On That Tomb Raider Demo? Keep Waiting.

Crystal Dynamics has announced that there will be no demo released for the upcoming reboot of [amazon_link id=”B004FS8LYK” target=”_blank” container=”” container_class=”” ]Tomb Raider[/amazon_link], saying that they did not want to spoil the story in any way and also did not want players to start the game and have a week or so break before having to pick it back up. Seems logical especially given how long we have been waiting on this game, holding off an extra week to get the full version should not bother anyone (except your hardcore trolls).

Also bucking with a recent industry trend is the fact that the game will not offer any kind of season or online pass for it’s downloadable content. This has become the norm for many big titles to offer a $20 or $30 package right at release that includes all future DLC in one package. To me, this says that they may not have a whole lot of DLC planned to justify a $30 charge.

    [amazon_link id=”B004FS8LYK” target=”_blank” container=”” container_class=”” ]Tomb Raider[/amazon_link] will release on March 5th.

  • Assassin’s Creed 3 Announces Season-Pass DLC And An Evil George Washington?

DLC Pack Will Have George Telling Plenty Of Lies.

Ubisoft has announced that Assassin’s Creed 3 will be selling a Season-Pass for it’s DLC that will save buyers a total of 25% and a week early release on the first downloadable pack. But the biggest news seems to be that three of those packs will be a big single player add-on story entitled “The Tyranny of King Washington” which sees America’s beloved first president become mad with power and places himself on the throne as America’s king.

“As the revolution comes to a close, a new and most unexpected enemy emerges. Driven by the desire to secure the fate of the colonies, the greatest hero of the revolution, George Washington, succumbs to the temptation of infinite power. The new King is born and his reign leaves no one untouched. To return freedom to the land our new hero must dethrone a tyrant he once called friend.”

The Season Pass will include 5 DLC packs in all and cost $30 or 2400 MS Points.
