  • Crysis 3 Release Date Confirmed

EA has announced that [amazon_link id=”B0050SY77E” target=”_blank” container=”” container_class=”” ]Crysis 3[/amazon_link] will release on February 19th for Xbox 360, Playstation 3 and PC. Everyone should prepare accordingly meaning if you own an Xbox 360 or PS3 you should pre-order the game and if you own a PC it means it is time to buy a new video card or PC altogether.

People that pre-order the game will receive extra weapons available in multiplayer, a level 5 upgrade and a digital copy of the first Crysis game.

This release date give Crysis a rather slim one-week window before the video game floodgates open on February 26th with Bioshock Infinite. After that it only gets more crowded.

  • Bioshock Infinite Cover Art

Here is the cover art for Bioshock Infinite, one of our most anticipated games of 2013. It certainly is….a cover.

For such a creative group of guys at Irrational Games you have to admit that the cover is pretty standard. We will just call it “Frontward Facing Uncharted” for lack of a better term.

I still have no doubts that this game will live up to its lofty expectations but there is no denying this is pretty uninspired. But I guess if you want the masses that are unaware of your game to give it a try you can never go wrong with “guy holding gun and fire”.

Bioshock Infinite releases on February 26, 2013.

  • Xbox 360 Version Of Lego The Lord Of The Rings Shipped With Demo Discs

It seems today is not a good day to buy new games because here is our second big mistake of the day.

Earlier we told you about PC copies of Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 shipping with Mass Effect 2 discs now reports are that the Xbox 360 version of Lego The Lord of the Rings were shipped with demo discs instead of the actual game. The disc is marked “Not For Sale” on the front. Calls to our local Gamestops have not seen any problems but there are some other stores in other cities that have pulled the game off the shelves altogether.

WB Games has said that they are aware of the situation and are taking measures to correct it. Until then, just be sure and check your game before leaving the store.

  • PC Version Of COD: Black Ops 2 May Have A “Mass”ive Mistake

Let’s Hope You Have A Good Internet Connection.

It seems that some PC owners are going a little bit farther in the future than they were promised with today’s launch of Call of Duty: Black Ops 2.

Forums began getting reports this morning that some PC owners of the newest Call of Duty game were given a Mass Effect 2 disc for the second disc of the game. This disc art reads correctly but when installed into the users PC it said that the information on the disc was a copy of Mass Effect 2. That is not the kind of thing that people want to see especially on the release of the biggest game of the year.

How many copies of Black Ops 2 that are affected by this are not yet known. Users with a Steam account can download the second disc info from the site so let’s hope they have a good internet connection or it may be a much longer wait to play Black Ops 2 than anticipated.

  • New Game Releases. October 30, 2012.

Assassin’s Creed and WWE Lead The Biggest Week Of The Year (So Far).

    [amazon_link id=”B0050SYLRK” target=”_blank” container=”” container_class=”” ]Assassin’s Creed 3[/amazon_link] (360, PS3) $59.99

Besides Halo 4 this is arguably the biggest release of the year. Every bit of the game has wowed anyone that has seen it and the anticipation has been at a fever pitch for months. Finally moving out of the Ezio era and bringing the American Revolution to the forefront looks like it will really pay off for the franchise.

    [amazon_link id=”B0085L2T0A” target=”_blank” container=”” container_class=”” ]WWE 13[/amazon_link] (360, PS3, Wii) $49.99-59.99

Last year’s game saw a complete change in the control scheme and physics engine so how do you possibly keep it fresh? By celebrating the 15th anniversary of the Attitude Era with its own storyline set as well as having Attitude Era stars on the roster. Don’t like your WWE programming PG? THQ may have the answer by looking to the past.

    [amazon_link id=”B0050SWTAQ” target=”_blank” container=”” container_class=”” ]Need For Speed: Most Wanted[/amazon_link] (360, PS3, PC, Vita) $39.99-59.99

My favorite racing series of all time is Burnout. So when it was announced that the guys at Criterion would be releasing the next Need For Speed game you can imagine my excitement. The real wonder of this release is how they managed to fit the entire game, as in every mode, into the Vita. Nice job Criterion.

    [amazon_link id=”B0088MVOUC” target=”_blank” container=”” container_class=”” ]Lego Lord of the Rings[/amazon_link] (360, PS3, Wii, PC, Vita, 3DS, DS) $29.99-49.99

Lego Batman 2 was released earlier this year to good reviews as well as being the first Lego game to feature voice acting. Now Lego Lord of the Rings is here and features actual dialogue from all three movies as well as Lego’s own unique humor mixed in. Co-op play are back as with any Lego game as well as tons of hidden goodies and unlockable characters.

    [amazon_link id=”B007BJNR6C” target=”_blank” container=”” container_class=”” ]Assassin’s Creed 3: Liberation[/amazon_link] (Vita) $39.99

This Vita only adventure follows a new assassin, Aveline, as she tries to decipher a Templar plan in New Orleans during the years of the American Revolution. I still have to wonder why they would release the game on the same day as Assassin’s Creed 3. Most people won’t have the money for both and releasing apart from the main game may actually sell a few Vita’s. Sony….that is all.

Next week is a bit lighter on the releases with everyone getting out of the way of Master Chief’s return. That’s right, it’s finally time for Halo 4.

    Happy gaming!!!!

  • The Elder Scrolls Online Website Officially Launches

Take An Extensive Look At Tamriel

Bethesda has launched the website for The Elder Scrolls Online today. You can learn about the back story of Tamriel, ask the developers questions and even take a look at a wealth of game concept art and videos. There are in-game shots as well as custom wallpapers to search through. It is an impressive start for a game that is still most likely a year away from launching.

Will you be paying a monthly charge for The Elder Scrolls Online or will Bethesda take the free-to-play approach that most MMO’s are swapping to? Only time will tell. Until then go and enjoy the large amount of Elder Scrolls goodness on the site.

  • Skyrim Censorship Adds +25 To Speechcraft

I have put over 100 hours into Skyrim since it’s release in November and somehow can’t believe that I have never heard of these videos till just today. And even as great as the game is I can’t help but think that I would have actually put more time into the game if it was censored like this. Wait…is there a PC mod to make this happen? If not, someone is sitting on a gold mine. A GOLD MINE!!!

  • Mass Effect 3 Leviathan DLC Gets A Trailer

Mass Effect’s latest single player DLC is about to hit on August 28 and has Commander Shepard searching for a mysterious being known as Leviathan that may be strong enough to destroy a Reaper. The trailer look gives us a glimpse of what looks like some underwater mech action.

Being a Mass Effect nut I am looking forward to diving back into the universe but I am wondering how fans who were critical of the game or it’s ending(s) will feel about playing what can only be called a prequel to a known ending.

Mass Effect 3 Leviathan DLC releases on August 28 on PSN for $10 and Xbox LIVE for 800 MS Points.

  • State Of Decay Brings Zombie Killing Into The Open World

The game formerly known as Class3 now has an official title. Undead Labs has announced that State of Decay will be coming to Xbox LIVE and PC.

I know, I know some of you are thinking that zombies are on overkill right now but at least Undead seems to be trying something new by bringing the zombie apocolypse into an open world game that is completely shaped by your actions. Dead Island found great success last year and I think the market is ripe for State of Decay to do well.

No release date has been announced for State of Decay but one would venture we won’t be seeing it until next year. Until then, here is the first trailer for the game.
