Apparently Disney has taken the patented “Harry Potter poster route” and plans to release twenty-three separate posters before the movie hits. This one has Tony and Pepper in an embrace. Tony better be careful because holding Pepper that close might become embarrassing.
DING
Yeah, I went there. An erection joke. You try writing a different post everyday for another Iron Man 3 poster.
In a recent interview with IGN, Robert Downey Jr. revealed that at one point in the production of Iron Man 3 they turned to Star Trek and Star Wars director J.J. Abrams for some advice on the film’s third act.
“There were a couple times in Iron Man 3 where our lifeline was we’d call Jon Favreau. ‘What do we do?’ He’d be like, ‘Stick with this. Stick with the love story,’ or whatever. Then he’d say, ‘Wait, didn’t we used to do this same thing with Shane?’ Because we reached out to Shane a bunch, particularly in the first Iron Man.
Then I think we reached out to J.J. Abrams at one point when we were really confused in Act III, and he helped us, too. It’s just interesting. Usually you think, in the legacy of filmmakers that come and go, there’s something so evocative about how strange it is that this particular strain of the Marvel universe was so successful, so what are the reasons for that and how do we keep that vital and just have fun?”
Seriously?! Is there nothing that Abrams has his hand in now?? First Star Trek, then Star Wars and now Marvel?
Well…now that I think about it there is no guarantee that Joss Whedon would return for The Avengers 3.
Smooth move J.J. You sir, are thinking ahead of the curve.
Excited yet for Iron Man 3? Well if you aren’t then the new trailer just released today should do the trick.
We get a bunch of new footage and a good look at every character including Ben Kingsley’s Mandarin and Guy Pearce’s Aldrich Killian. Tony Stark is left a changed man after the events of The Avengers and The Mandarin finds this time the perfect time to strike.
And try to contain the goosebump feels when Tony and Rhodes make their appearance at the end with an army of Iron Men ready to fight.
And the Iron Man 3 poster bonanza keeps on rolling! Today we get a final one sheet showing a beaten to hell Tony floating atop a piece of debris as all the different versions of his suit take off around him. Rumors suggest that during the film Tony makes an Iron Man army that he controls himself thus the armor he is wearing is the Mark 47 with all the other armors being different Mark numbers.
A new trailer will premiere next Tuesday March 5th at 11AM CST.
Hell wouldn’t you if you were holding your boyfriend’s metal shell of a head? Gwyneth Paltrow joins Don Cheadle, Guy Perace and Ben Kingsley to get the single poster treatment for Marvel’s threequel.
Marvel can keep preaching that Iron Man 3 is not going to be a darker movie, but the trailers, posters and director (Shane Black) are saying otherwise. Now I am not saying this will go into Dark Knight “pit of despair” stuff, but it certainly looker to be much bleaker than the first two films.
The newest poster for the Marvel sequel has Ben Kingsley’s Mandarin front and center looking very militant and quite badass.
One quick thought: as much as I like this poster and Kingsley’s look I can’t help but also get a Sasha Baron Cohen as The Dictator at 65. Seriously, I can’t help it.
Marvel is ready to make this May’s release of Iron Man 3 something to remember with four special edition 3D glasses for the film. The pairs include Iron Man, Tony Stark, War Machine and Iron Patriot. There will be a small extra for the glasses which will bring the total cost of a nighttime showing of Iron Man 3 in IMAX 3D with DBOX seats and special glasses to around a cool $47.50.
I don’t see why more movies don’t take advantage of this honestly. I would have went to see Lincoln in theaters if they offered special 3D glasses with beard attached.
Hey! It’s a new Iron Man 3 poster and I think after seeing it we can agree on one thing:
Thank God they replaced Terrence Howard with Don Cheadle.
The new one-sheet focuses on Cheadle’s Iron Patriot complete with sunset sky and flying debris that is required in every action movie poster by the secret Hollywood pact of 1984 which Michael Bay adheres to in the strictest possible way.
If you were like me then you spent a good part of last night’s Super Bowl waiting for the Iron Man 3 trailer. And also, if you were like me, then you were a little disappointed when it was a snippet of an airplane rescue.
Fear not true believers!!
The extended trailer (which the Super Bowl ad shared the link to) completely makes up for it. For all you ladies, you get thirty straight seconds of Robert Downey Jr. then we get to see more footage including Happy not looking so happy, Rhodey in full Iron Patriot armor and more Ben Kingsley as The Mandarin. I really don’t see why Disney didn’t foot the bill and put the full trailer up last night.
Paramount and Marvel have released a new poster for Iron Man 3. In it our dear friend Tony Stark appears to be free falling to Earth as his suit breaks apart.
Director Shane Black seems to be taking Tony down a dark road in this third installment of the franchise. With the tone of the trailer released late last year and the introduction of Ben Kingsley as The Mandarin, it looks like Tony’s worst days are ahead of him.
Iron Man 3 will have a Super Bowl ad that will run during the big game this weekend and we will have it here for you on Monday.
