  • New Grand Theft Auto V Character Trailers

As promised, Rockstar released a trio of trailers today for Grand Theft Auto V, each focusing on one of the protagonists in the game. The trailer below has all three which you can watch in a row. Each video is accompanied by a different song and already has me excited for the soundtrack possibilities. Michael’s video has Queen, Franklin has Jay Rock and Trevor is accompanied by Waylon Jennings.

Rockstar is very ambitious with the three person story arc. It looks like each protagonist will have his fair share of solo missions while also participating together as a trio in other story missions.

Grand Theft Auto V releases on September 17th.

Wait…is that a Grand Theft Auto cover? How could you tell? I wonder if it is because it looks like every other GTA cover?

Don’t worry Rockstar, I’m not busting your balls. If it’s not broke, don’t fix it and the covers are not broke, but the driving and cover combat system are, especially after playing [amazon_link id=”B0076ZQSFI” target=”_blank” container=”” container_class=”” ]Sleeping Dogs[/amazon_link] and realizing how good they could be in an open-world game. I am excited for GTA V, but cautiously excited.

  • Grand Theft Auto 5 Set For September Release

    Grand-Theft-Auto-V

Alright spring games, you may now breathe a sigh of relief. Today Rockstar announced that Grand Theft Auto 5 would be pushed back to September to allow time to polish the game. The game will now launch on September 17th, which should make it one of the last huge releases of this current generation.

Rockstar released a statement on the delay.

“We know this is about four months later than originally planned and we know that this short delay will come as a disappointment to many of you, but, trust us, it will be worth the extra time. GTAV is a massively ambitious and complex game and it simply needs a little more polish to be of the standard we and, more importantly, you require.”

“To all Grand Theft Auto fans, please accept our apologies for the delay, and our promise that the entire team here is working very hard to make the game all it can be. We are doing all we can to help ensure it will meet if not exceed your expectations come September – we thank you for your support and patience.”

    Dead-Space-3-Splash-Image1

There are a lot of big name titles coming out in the first half of this year and Microsoft is giving you an incentive to reserve the ones you want on their store site. The The Microsoft Store is offering a free 1600 MS Point card ($20) when you reserve any of the games they have listed on their site from the promotion. Big games like [amazon_link id=”B0050SXKU4″ target=”_blank” container=”” container_class=”” ]Grand Theft Auto 5[/amazon_link] and [amazon_link id=”B0050SWVIQ” target=”_blank” container=”” container_class=”” ]Dead Space 3[/amazon_link] are on the list. All in all it’s not a bad deal when you are essentially paying $39.99 for a game when you get your card.

Take a look at the list of game available for this offer.

  • The New Trailer For Grand Theft Auto 5 Is Here

Are Three Heads Better Than One?

After teasing us with screenshot after screenshot Rockstar at last took the wraps off of their newest trailer for Grand Theft Auto 5. In it we are introduced to our three protagonists who you will swap between in the game to pull off heists and complete missions.

Franklin is a professional repo man with what appears to be annoying girlfriend, Michael looks to be the “reformed” family man who’s son is wanting to be like his father and Trevor plays the part of the completely psychotic wildcard. All three have their moments in the trailer but it already looks like playing as Trevor is going to be a blast (sorry for the pun).

Have a look at the trailer and let us know what you think? Does the change to three main characters excite you? How about the change to Los Santos, which appears to be much more open than Liberty City.

Grand Theft Auto 5 is set for release in Spring 2013.

  • Grand Theft Auto 5 Protagonist(s) Revealed (UPDATED)

Game Informer Cover Unveils GTA’s “Heroes”

The new issue of Game Informer should be making its way into people’s emails or mailboxes soon and the cover story reveals a big story element from Rockstar’s Grand Theft Auto 5. It appears the games will feature three central characters instead of one. Whether their stories will be separate or cross over has yet to be announced. What we do know is that the game will take place in the city of Los Santos and will involve shooting, driving, buying clothes and unnecessary chase missions.

This picture has also been making the rounds online today. Take a look and let us know what you think about this theory.

    !!!UPDATED!!!

More information from the new Game Informer has confirmed that the three characters are named Michael, Franklin and Trevor quickly squashing the rumor above (although I rather liked the rumor). You will play all three characters being able to switch between them to complete missions in different ways.

I am not sure how to take this news. It certainly is ambitious of Rockstar to try something like this and hopefully it won’t turn into a Resident Evil 5 experience (i.e. sucks).

A new trailer will be released soon. Grand Theft Auto 5 is slated for a Spring 2013 release.

Halo Is Here. Anyone Going Up Against It?

    [amazon_link id=”B0050SYX8W” target=”_blank” container=”” container_class=”” ]Halo 4 (360) $59.99/$99.99[/amazon_link]

After the avalanche of new games last week, this week is a much different story. Can you blame anyone for not wanting to release against Halo 4? Master Chief is finally back after a five year absence and he has a brand new developer. With Bungie breaking away from Microsoft, the pressure of delivering a new Halo fell to 343 Industries and if early reviews are any account then they have delivered a complete package with a great story and the always engaging multiplayer. We will have our review up as soon as we can.

    [amazon_link id=”B009KG9AL0″ target=”_blank” container=”” container_class=”” ]Rockstar Collection-Edition 1[/amazon_link] (360, PS3) $59.99

Rockstar has GTA 5 coming next year so what better way to remind people how great they are then by releasing “best of” collections. The first contains Grand Theft Auto: Episodes From Liberty City (but no GTA 4, weird), Red Dead Redemption, L.A. Noire and Midnight Club: Los Angeles Complete Edition. So here’s the rundown: one great game (Red Dead), one good game (Noire), a good racer (Midnight) and a couple of good expansions for a great game (Episodes). Pretty good job Rockstar. Now can I have my GTA: Vice City HD remake?

    [amazon_link id=”B0053BCMAC” target=”_blank” container=”” container_class=”” ]Paper Mario: Sticker Star[/amazon_link] (3DS) $39.99

Do you like your Mario with some RPG added in? Paper Mario is here to help you out. This newest in the Paper Mario series goes back to the turned based combat like the first two games in the series. Mario will have to find various stickers during his adventure to battle enemies as well as alter the environment to access new areas. 3DS keeps spacing out its big releases and should have a big holiday due to games like Paper Mario.

    [amazon_link id=”B0050SX00Y” target=”_blank” container=”” container_class=”” ]Little Big Planet Karting[/amazon_link] (PS3) $59.99

What? You say you didn’t know that Little Big Planet had a karting game coming out? It’s Sony so of course you didn’t. Open up your poppit and get racing with Sackboy (or girl) along with all the creation tools that has made LBP so popular. And yes this is a PS3 only title even though it sounds perfect for the Vita. Here’s hoping we get a handheld version down the road.

Get ready for next week. Not only does a little game called Call of Duty arrive but we also get Epic Mickey 2, Sony’s Wonderbook and the Nintendo Wii U is almost upon us. We will have a special release list for Wii U to go along with our normal releases next week.

    Happy gaming!!!

  • Grand Theft Auto 5 Release Confirmed.

Rockstar’s Next GTA Title Takes On A Crowded Spring.

The early 2013 game landscape just got a lot more crowded with Rockstar’s official announcement today that Grand Theft Auto 5 would be released in the spring.

This is certainly huge news for game fans that have been waiting almost five years for the followup to the popular game series. Almost certainly other game companies are waiting for a solid release date to see if any adjustments need to be made to their own game releases.

There are a host of big name games releasing early next year like Tomb Raider, Gears of War and The Last of Us but almost any game should avoid being released on or near GTA’s release because they are among the biggest you see in gaming.

Rockstar has said that they will open the floodgates on Grand Theft Auto 5 starting next month and that pre-orders on the game begin November 5th.

  • Rockstar Releases More GTA 5 Photos

You have to hand it to Rockstar, they know how to keep folks talking about a game even when it is still a ways off. This week they released new screenshots of Grand Theft Auto 5.  If the screens are true gameplay then it loooks like the team developing this has gone way above the bar that GTA 4 set four years ago. Take a look and let us know if the screens get your interest up more or are you waiting on some gameplay videos first.
