This is a stupid good deal.

How good a deal is this? I paid full price for this when it came out three years ago and I am not even mad about having it be available this cheap. It is the most comprehensive Blu-Ray collections I have ever bought and still watch the movies and special features on a regular basis. If you are in any way a fan of this series you owe yourself to pick it up today.

Amazon’s Deal Of The Day Is The Undiscovered Country Of Blu-Ray Deals

Ok, first off, that title was like the 14th pun I thought of and my brain was hurting so it is the one I went with.

Amazon is making it hard to resist your inner Trekkie (or Trekker, don’t get uppity) with the Gold Box Deal of the Day which has the Star Trek Original Motion Picture Collection for only $29.99 on Blu-Ray and $21.49 on DVD. For those of us that do not do math well that is $55.00 off the regular price and the cheapest I have seen the collection since its release.

A deal this good is worth adding Star Trek V to your Blu-Ray collection when it is this cheap. I don’t know why God needs a Starship, but I know that I need this.

It Is The Breaking Bad Complete Series. All Your Dreams In A Barrel

Breaking Bad is still a few weeks away from ending, but you super fans can go ahead and pre-order the collector’s set now.

Releasing on November 26th, the set comes with all five seasons in a handy barrel along with a coaster, booklet and apron. Be warned that you will be paying a pretty penny for this set, though I think this won’t deter some Walter White lovers.

Man Of Steel Flies Home In November

Zack Snyder’s [amazon_link id=”B008JFUPK8″ target=”_blank” container=”” container_class=”” ]Man of Steel[/amazon_link] was the huge hit Warner Bros. was hoping it would be and now the movie will be coming home on November 12th in three different editions. There is a standard Blu-Ray/DVD/Ultraviolet version, the 3D Blu-Ray/Blu-Ray/DVD/Ultraviolet version and a special edition set that comes in a metal “S” symbol holder with a stand.

Here is a rundown of the extras that will total about four hours:

-Journey of Discovery: Creating “Man of Steel” – This immersive feature-length experience allows you to watch the movie with director Zack Snyder and stars Henry Cavill, Amy Adams, Diane Lane and others as they share the incredible journey to re-imagine Superman.

-Strong Characters, Legendary Roles – Explore the legendary characters of the Superman mythology and how they have evolved in this new iteration of the Superman story.

– All-Out Action – Go inside the intense training regimen that sculpted Henry Cavill into the Man of Steel and Michael Shannon and Antje Traue into his Kyptonian nemeses. Includes interviews with cast and crew.

-Krypton Decoded – Dylan Sprayberry (Clark Kent, age 13) gives the lowdown on all the amazing Krypton tech, weapons and spaceships featured in “Man of Steel.”

-Planet Krypton – The world’s first exploration of Krypton and its lost society.

World War Z Blu-Ray Dated And Detailed

Paramount has announced that [amazon_link id=”B005LAIIN0″ target=”_blank” container=”” container_class=”” ]World War Z[/amazon_link] will be released on Blu-Ray on September 17th.

The movie based on the Max Brooks book was a surprise hit after having multiple production problems and delays. It has grossed over $470 million dollars worldwide and a sequel has been put into motion. We gave the movie a good 7.5 review back in June.

Here is the list of special features that will accompany the Blu-Ray:

-“Origins” — The filmmakers discuss collaborating with renowned actor/producer Brad Pitt to create a zombie film the likes of which have never been seen.

-“Looking to Science” — Explore the scientific realities of zombie behavior in nature and learn more about zombies in literature and film.

-“Outbreak” — Go on set with Brad Pitt and director Marc Forster for a behind-the-scenes look at the film’s breathtaking first attack in Philadelphia.

Doctor Who: Series 1-7 Limited Edition Giftset Headed To Blu-Ray

Alright fans, your 50th anniversary celebration for Doctor Who begins here! Amazon has started taking pre-orders on the Doctor Who: Series 1-7 Limited Edition Giftset on Blu-Ray.

This impressive collection gives you Series 1-4 with Ninth Doctor Christopher Eccleston and Tenth Doctor David Tennant for the first time on Blu-Ray and Series 5-7 featuring current (and soon to be exiting Doctor) Matt Smith. The best part of this set has got to be the inclusion of a Sonic Screwdriver Universal Remote Control which will be the best way to control your viewing in the Doctor’s 50th anniversary.

The sequel did not live up to lofty box office expectations, but did surpass its predecessor in its worldwide total. We gave the film a stellar 9/10 review and can not wait to experience it again.

The Dark Knight Trilogy: Ultimate Collector’s Edition Dated And Detailed
Here is the official first look at the American packaging for The Dark Knight Trilogy: Ultimate Collector’s Edition. The set will release on September 24th and retail for $99.99. In it you will get six discs, three for the three films and three for extras. The extras will be comprised of what you have already gotten in the previous Blu-Ray versions as well as two new features that have Christopher Nolan and Superman director Richard Donner discussing the path it took to bring both heroes to the screen and the second feature is a look back at The Dark Knight Trilogy as a whole and its impact on the superhero movie genre.

The collection also comes with three toy vehicles from the films: the Tumbler, Batpod and the Bat as well as five villain character cards and a 48-page hardcover book.

If you do not own all three films this collection is well worth a look or, if you are like me, and own all three movies and are a collector then you will be getting this anyway because we have a disease. We need help. But not until after I buy this.

About The Films

Batman Begins (2005)

Batman Begins explores the origins of the Batman legend and the Dark Knight’s emergence as a force for good in Gotham. In the wake of his parents’ murder, disillusioned industrial heir Bruce Wayne (Christian Bale) travels the world seeking the means to fight injustice and turn fear against those who prey on the fearful. The Dark Knight (2008)

The follow-up to Batman Begins, The Dark Knight reunites director Christopher Nolan and star Christian Bale, who reprises the role of Batman/Bruce Wayne in his continuing war on crime. With the help of Lt. Jim Gordon (Gary Oldman) and District Attorney Harvey Dent (Aaron Eckhart), Batman sets out to destroy organized crime in Gotham for good. Dark Knight Rises (2012)

It has been eight years since Batman vanished into the night, turning, in that instant, from hero to fugitive. Assuming the blame for the death of D.A. Harvey Dent, the Dark Knight sacrificed everything for what he and Commissioner Gordon both hoped was the greater good. For a time the lie worked, as criminal activity in Gotham City was crushed under the weight of the anti-crime Dent Act.

But everything will change with the arrival of a cunning cat burglar with a mysterious agenda. Far more dangerous, however, is the emergence of Bane, a masked terrorist whose ruthless plans for Gotham drive Bruce out of his self-imposed exile. But even if he dons the cape and cowl again, Batman may be no match for Bane. Christian Bale stars, along with Michael Caine, Gary Oldman, Anne Hathaway, Tom Hardy, Marion Cotillard, Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Morgan Freeman.

Game Of Thrones Season 3 Home Release Date Set, Vote On Favorite Cover.

For those of you that want to relive the intense heartache that was the third season of Game of Thrones, you will get your chance to next year. HBO has announced that Season 3 will be released on DVD and Blu-Ray on February 18, 2014, just over a month before the premiere of Season 4.

To keep you invested while you wait HBO is letting you vote on what exclusive packaging will accompany the set at Best Buy’s nationwide. There are three different sets to choose from including three character covers and two different sets of house sigils. All you have to do is go and like the HBO Facebook page and like which set you want to occupy your shelf space.

Of the three I prefer the character profiles, but if I had my druthers, I would go a different route.

Star Trek Into Darkness 3D Blu-Ray Set…Yes Already

Be still my Trekker heart.

How soon is too soon to get ready for the home release of a big summer movie? How about two days?

Amazon is already taking pre-orders on the Star Trek Into Darkness 3D Blu-Ray Set which comes with a full-scale replica of a Starfleet phaser. The set retails for $99.99, but Amazon is offering it for $79.99. No release date is set although it will be in the fall sometime.
