  • Batman: Arkham Knight Announced! Watch The First Trailer Here!

    black93472340

The new issue of Game Informer has revealed the next game in Rocksteady’s Arkham series; Batman: Arkham Knight.

The game will be releasing this year for Playstation 4, Xbox One and PC. If you can’t tell by the cover, the Batmobile will play a role in the new game and be drivable over the streets of Gotham in combination with Batman’s normal means of travel (grappling hook and gliding).

Notice there was no mention of current-gen consoles? And that the cover says that this is the series finale for the Arkham games?

Check out the first trailer for the game which encapsulates everything I love about Batman in four minutes.

  • Review Roundup: South Park: The Stick Of Truth

    South-Park-The-Stick-of-Truth

It is finally time to head on down to South Park.

Today sees the release of South Park: The Stick of Truth and it looks like the gods of comedy have shone down on the game. Despite some technical issues (resulting in the “not yet” score by Kotaku), the first reviews of South Park are saying it is a true representation of the show and one of the funniest games made.

    Sweet.

    IGN9/10

“Speaking of the quiet Colorado mountain town, it is itself one of the stars of The Stick of Truth. For the first time in the series’ history, it has been fully mapped out and given official geographical context. As a superfan who’s seen every episode of the show, I spent the first two to three hours of Stick of Truth exploring every kid’s house and each recognizable location, and from Stan’s bedroom closet (be sure to check it!) to Stark’s Pond and South Park Elementary, they’re all packed incredibly densely with in-jokes. Even every piece of inventory junk loot I collected is a show reference with a funny description attached to it.”

    Polygon8.5/10

“But as well constructed as the mechanics are, Stick of Truth work so well as a South Park vessel because it puts the story first. Without spoiling anything, the boys’ game soon triggers a crisis that threatens not only the town of South Park but the planet itself.

    Game Informer8.5/10

“I can’t think of a better way to bring this franchise to gaming consoles. The RPG format allows for a ton of funny items and sidequests, the objectives are unlike anything else in the genre, everything moves along at a solid pace, and the overall feel is distinctly South Park. It’s one of the most faithful adaptations of a license I’ve seen, and it ranks among the best comedic games ever released.”

    KotakuNOT YET

“In general, wandering through South Park is a ton of fun—which, for me, just made those stuttering issues even more annoying. I wanted to take my time, saunter around the city, and soak in every moment of the game, but it’s tough to really get into a game like Stick of Truth when things don’t run smoothly.”

    EGM8.5/10

The Stick of Truth is finally the game Parker and Stone have wanted to represent their beloved comedy series. Not only does it pay tribute to some of the show’s best moments, but it also builds new lore on top of that. As a game—and not just a story—it certainly could be better, but South Park fans will still feel immensely satisfied with the effort.

    Joystiq3.5/5

“How you’ll feel about South Park: The Stick of Truth comes down to how you prefer the peanut butter to chocolate ratio in this weird little flavor mash-up. To get the most out of it, you have to buy into its world; you have to play pretend. More than that, you’re going to want to know the kids you’re playing with. If you’re well-versed in South Park history and can imagine cookies as a “health potion,” you’re off to a good start. If you can also forgive the repetitive nature of combat and some uninspired quests, it’s worth taking up arms – or dildos – for The Stick of Truth‘s hilarious, disgusting adventure.

Chris Evans may take a break from acting after his Marvel contract is up.

“I think when I’m done with this Marvel contract, I’ll take a little break from acting, with acting, you’re one piece in a very big puzzle. It’s like you helped buy a gift but you don’t know what the gift is, so you come back and see the movie. Sometimes it’s nice, sometimes it’s tragic. This process [directing], you’re involved in every single decision. If I hadn’t done it, I’d be really kicking myself. At the time, it was a daunting task for a number of reasons, but in hindsight it was the right move.”

    The Walking Dead

For the first time since the plodding Season 2, an episode of The Walking Dead bored me. The name of the episode should have been a warning; it was titled “Still”.

    Rob Zombie

The rocker/director is developing a limited series based on the Charles Manson murders on Fox. The series will “tell converging stories of people and events leading up to and after the murders, from shifting points of view.” Everything about this seems like a win.

  • Watch Batista’s Heel Turn From Smackdown

    http://youtu.be/oL3ATgvGMPM

In case you missed last Friday’s Smackdown, here is Batista’s promo where he went full heel. He talked about being back for him alone and taking down everyone’s heroes on the way to WrestleMania.

Thaaaank you WWE, This is how Batista should have been brought back in January. When he left four years ago, he was the best heel in the company and doing his best mic work ever. Now he can just pick up where he left off.

Now that he and Orton are both heels, this make the main event at Mania much more interesting, most likely meaning a triple threat match.

    Non-Stop-Liam-Neeson

Even Jesus couldn’t take down Liam Neeson this weekend, but seeing as Neeson played Aslan in The Chronicles of Narnia series, we will call it a 1-2 finish for the Lord.

There is almost one sure thing in Hollywood; if Neeson has a new action movie opening, it will open at #1. Non-Stop finished with $30 million beating Son of God which made way more than expected considering people had already seen the movie.

    What’s that?

Yep, Son of God is most of the Jesus story that was shown in History Channel’s big miniseries, The Bible, with deleted scenes added in to make a movie. Brilliant move seeing as Son of God brought in $26.5 million.

    My brain hurts a bit.

The LEGO Movie fell to third with $21 million, crossing $200 million domestically. Frozen continued its wonderful run becoming the newest movie to cross $1 billion worldwide.

    1. Non-Stop- $30.0 million/ $30.0 million

    2. Son of God- $26.5/ $26.5

    3. The LEGO Movie- $21.0/ $209.3

    4. The Monuments Men- $5.0/ $65.6

    5. 3 Days To Kill- $4.9/ $20.7

    6. Robocop- $4.5/ $51.2

    7. Pompeii- $4.3/ $17.7

    8. Frozen- $3.6/ $388.7

    9. About Last Night- $3.4/ $43.7

    10. Ride Along- $3.0/ $127.1

    Jurassic-World

    Movies

    Gravity

Sandra Bullock could make up to $70 million for her performance in the Oscar-nominated movie. She made $20 million for signing on and will make 15% of the total gross which sits at around $700 million worldwide as well as about $20 million from DVD/Blu-Ray sales, TV deals, etc. And yet, I will still feel like she got robbed if she loses the Best Actress race at the Oscars.

    Ant-Man

Patrick Wilson, who played Nite Owl in Watchmen, has signed on for an unspecified role in Edgar Wright’s Ant-Man. Could anyone see him playing a young Hank Pym? Me too.

    Jurassic World

Vincent D’Onofrio will play the villain in 2015’s Jurassic World joining Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard. One would guess he will not play a giant cockroach…or Thor.

    James Bond

Ralph Fiennes has said that Bond 24 will begin filming in October for a November 2015 release. It has to follow Skyfall, one of the greatest Bond films ever made. No pressure guys.

    Parks and Recreation

First lady Michelle Obama will guest star on the season finale. This is just leading to the inevitable team-up of Michelle and Burt Macklin.

    Titanfall

Developer Respawn has announced that a Season Pass will not be released for Titanfall. You will, most likely, purchase the DLC packs individually. To me this says that there is no set number of DLC releases. Could be one, could be eight.

    Halo

Phil Spencer from Microsoft has said that 343 Industries has some big Halo news coming at this year’s E3. If this is a big build up to a Halo 2 Anniversary announcement, I will be disappointed. Halo 5 or go home.

  • See The First Photo Of CW’s The Flash

    THE-FLASH-First-Image

Production is about to begin on the CW series, The Flash, who was introduced earlier this season on Arrow. They have just released the first image of Grant Gustin as the titular character and from the neck up…it looks pretty faithful.

The show will premiere this fall on the CW.

What do you think of the first look of The Flash? It can never match the goofy wonderfulness of the John Wesley Shipp version but so far, so good.

  • Reserve Your Ticket Now. Jeff Goldblum Is In Independence Day 2

    jeff-goldblum

He may not be returning to Jurassic Park but the awesomeness that is known as Jeff Goldblum will return to fight the second wave of aliens.

The Huffington Post asked Goldblum about the possibility of David Levinson returning in Independence Day 2. He had this to say about his talks with director Roland Emmerich:

“Yeah, they’ve talked to me about it and I’ve talked to them about it and they’re excited and I’m anxious and eager to see — I haven’t read anything — what they cook up. You know, I think they’re trying to put it together.”

So at this point, who needs Will Smith? The Fresh Prince may have said no but now ID4-2 (?) will have The Blum.

    Ticket sold.
