  • The Incredible Burt Wonderstone Trailer

    The-Incredible-Burt-Wonderstone

Here is the first trailer for The Incredible Burt Wonderstone. The comedy stars Steve Carell, Steve Buscemi and Jim Carrey. Carell plays Burt Wonderstone who begins to be upstaged by a new magician played by Carrey. The flick looks like it could be chuckle worthy PG-13 fare and at least Carrey is doing slapstick again. Gotta take it where we can get it.

The Incredible Burt Wonderstone releases on March 15, 2013.

  • Bioshock Infinite’s First Five Minutes

    83283-bioshock-infinite

“Booker, are you afraid of God?”

“No, but I’m afraid of you.”

And with those two lines Bioshock Infinite should be on every gamers radar.

Irrational has released a video showcasing the first five minutes of their upcoming Bioshock Infinite. It is not too spoilery so don’t worry too much but it does introduce us to lead character Booker DeWitt and what his task is on the floating city of Columbia. I love how the rainy conditions and lighthouse interior kind of mirror the beginning of the original Bioshock.

Bioshock Infinite releases on March 26, 2013.

  • Nintendo TVii Is Up And Running

After a slight delay Nintendo has their TVii feature up and running on the Wii U. All you will have to do is turn on your system and download a new update for the system, answer a few questions about your cable provider and you all set to go. TVii also connects to your Hulu Plus and Amazon Instant accounts.

The best part of all is that Nintendo TVii is completely free.

  • This Is The End Red Band Clip

Well we are all still here so I guess that’s a good thing.

It is a great thing actually because we get to look forward to Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg’s This Is The End. The comedy stars James Franco, Seth Rogen, Jonah Hill, Danny McBride, Jay Baruschel and Craig Robinson (as themselves by the look of the clip) as six friends who are trapped together after a lot of weird and disastrous events happen to the city of Los Angeles. Seth Rogen and James Franco introduce the clip in a most unique way including a question I have always wondered about pleasing one’s self in a bunker.

Two things I take away from this video:

    1. That two people in this movie are Academy Award nominees.

    2. It is just another reminder how awesome Freaks and Geeks was.

This Is The End releases on June 14, 2013.

  • Star Trek: The Video Game Due Out April 23, 2013

Star Trek: The Video Game will be releasing on April 23, 2013 a mere three weeks before the crew of the Enterprise is set to return in Star Trek Into Darkness. Above is the official box art for the game which will have Kirk and Spock working together in co-op missions fighting against the classic Trek series enemy the Gorn who are (obviously) being re-designed for the new game.

Pre-orders for the game begin tomorrow, December 21st, and gamers will receive some in-game extras for dropping the early cash.

The “Elite Officers” Pack comes with:

    – Stealth Pack (stealth uniforms for Kirk and Spock as well as a Starfleet Stealth Sniper Rifle)

    – Brawler Pack (Kirk’s leather jacket attire and Spock’s Vulcan Science Academy attire)

    – Kelvin Pack (Kirk and Spock U.S.S. Kelvin uniforms and Kelvin hand phaser)

    – Academy Pack (Kirk Academy Uniform, Spock Dress Uniform and Academy phaser)

    – Kobayashi Maru Pack- (Kirk and Spock Kobayashi Maru uniforms)

  • Game Of Thrones Beer. You Read That Correctly.

Warning: Drinking Too Much May Cause Incest.

Here is the first look at the bottle for the first of many Game of Thrones inspired beers from Ommegang Brewery. It is called Iron Throne, a blonde ale that is (and I quote) “crafted to directly tie into themes and nuances of the medieval-like fantasy realm of Westeros and the surrounding kingdoms.”

The beer will go on sale next March with a second variety coming next fall.

At $8.50 a bottle you may think it is a bit overpriced but can you really put a price on 25 oz. of feeling like Tyrion Lannister? And by that I mean feel like a complete pimp.

  • Aliens Figures Will Be On My Shelf In 2013

I guess it’s a NECA kind of morning.

After showing off the Bioshock Infinite figures earlier today I went a bumming around on the company’s website and found these beauties that will be available in Spring 2013.

The first series will come with Hicks, Hudson and Alien warrior. Marines stand 7″ tall and have over 30 points of articulation while the Alien warrior will be over 9″. Hicks and Hudson will come equipped with pulse rifle, shotgun, motion tracker and shoulder lamp.

    Yes, please.

  • THQ Files For Bankruptcy

THQ has filed for Chapter 11 (the good kind…if there is one) bankruptcy but has also secured a buyer for the company all in one fell swoop.

Look, I am not an expert in bankruptcy laws but the basic setup is that THQ formally filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy while letting Clearlake Capital Group LLC offer a 60 million dollar consideration for the company as well as pay their creditors 10 million dollars. By filing Chapter 11, THQ was able to choose essentially who bought the company. After this it all gets really technical and I don’t feel like boning up on bankruptcy laws for this article when all you really want to know is if THQ will still finish and release South Park and Metro: Last Light.

    Yes. Yes they will.

  • Bioshock Infinite Figures By NECA Coming Soon

If you have already reserved your $150 Songbird Edition of Bioshock Infinite don’t think that will be the end of your Bioshock spending spree. NECA toys will be releasing these figures based on Irrational Games’ upcoming Bioshock Infinite. The first series will have Elizabeth and one of the Boys of Silence.

    Click [amazon_link id=”B009I6DH6Q” target=”_blank” container=”” container_class=”” ]here[/amazon_link] to pre-order the two-pack from Amazon.

Bioshock Infinite will release on March 26, 2013.

  • Gears Of War Erector Sets Let You Build Sera’s Defense

Gears of War and Erector have joined forces to bring four sets exclusively to Toys R Us stores ranging in price from 20-50 dollars. Shown above is the King Raven helicopter which comprises over 300 pieces and four figures. The other three sets are the Centaur Tank, Armadillo APC and a Battle Set which can be seen below.

I think it’s time to re-discover my kid side when Lincoln Logs and building model Millenium Falcons were the spice of life.
