  • Is Riddick Returning For Another Video Game?

    883_187479373

On the heels of Riddick releasing in theaters, it seems Vin Diesel is wanting to get the character back into the video game world as well. Not only that, but he is bringing along [amazon_link id=”B001L18RIE” target=”_blank” container=”” container_class=”” ]The Chronicles of Riddick: Escape from Butcher Bay[/amazon_link] developers Starbreeze to the project.

In a recent interview Diesel talked about another gaming adventure starring Riddick.

“We just over the past couple of months — just this year — we assembled that team from Starbreeze that brought Escape from Butcher Bay to create the third game.”

If you could see my face right now I would first wonder why you were looking at my face then I would realize you were because of the giant, idiotic grin across my face. Not only is Escape from Butcher Bay one of the best shooters from the Xbox era, but it is one of the best shooters ever made and if you have not ever played it then I suggest you go and correct the error.

    Excitement.

Taking on Apple TV, Ouya and other Android based boxes at the same time is not an easy thing to do, but Sony is going for the win with the PS Vita TV. The small (6x10cm) box that will play PS Vita games, connect to the PS Network to play PSP and PS1 classics as well as connect to TV based services like Hulu and NicoNico Douga (in Japan). You can also use Sony’s great Twitter app.

The box has a slot for Vita games, memory cards, HDMI output, Ethernet ports and USB ports.

Not all Vita games will be available for play due to the various features the Vita utilizes like the touch screen, but over 100 Vita titles will be available.

The device can also be used to connect to the [amazon_link id=”B00CMQTVQO” target=”_blank” container=”” container_class=”” ]Playstation 4[/amazon_link] for remote play when your console is not in the room with you. Am I the only one that thinks this is pure brilliance? If my PS4 is hooked up in my living room and I want to play it in my bedroom with my PS Vita TV in there I can just remote connect to the console? Nice.

PS Vita TV releases on November 14th in Japan for $100. A set that comes with a Dualshock 3 controller will cost $150. There is no worldwide release information.

    Microsoft has announced that the [amazon_link id=”B00CMQTVMI” target=”_blank” container=”” container_class=”” ]Xbox One[/amazon_link] will be released on November 22nd, one week after the [amazon_link id=”B00CMQTVQO” target=”_blank” container=”” container_class=”” ]Playstation 4[/amazon_link].

The date is also the eighth anniversary of the release of the Xbox 360.

While it will not be beating Sony to store shelves, a one week gap is nothing to be worried about sales wise. They will be just in time for Black Friday which is the most important thing when planning a holiday release.

  • Ryse: Son Of Rome Shows It Is More Than Just QTE’s

Ever since its debut at E3, Ryse: Son of Rome has been trying to convince people that there is more depth to their game than a lot of pretty QTE events. With each new showing they are showing more of the hack and slash combat that makes up the majority of the gameplay. This video gives a look at how the developers worked on the free flow combat and counter controls for the [amazon_link id=”B00CMQTVMI” target=”_blank” container=”” container_class=”” ]Xbox One[/amazon_link] title.

The game has many doubters and I am sure this video will not sway their thinking, but Ryse is still high up on my list of next-gen launch titles that I am eager to play. There is no doubt that the game looks gorgeous. Maybe it can surprise a few people.

  • Playing With Balls On People- It’s The Batman: Arkham Origins MoCap Trailer

You would think with all the Arkham Origins coverage we were excited about the game or something. Good guess.

This new video shows off the work WB Games Montreal put into the motion capture for the game. They did not go full face involving the voice actors rather they did body-only as actors matched up their motions to the voice actors performance. It is an interesting look inside the game that is worth a look.

    [amazon_link id=”B00C7103DO” target=”_blank” container=”” container_class=”” ]Batman: Arkham Origins[/amazon_link] releases on October 25th.

  • Lords Of The Fallen Trailer Is Quite Pretty

    11829-offsite_resizing_lords_of_the_fallen

Lords of the Fallen is a new fantasy RPG for the [amazon_link id=”B00CMQTVQO” target=”_blank” container=”” container_class=”” ]Playstation 4[/amazon_link] and [amazon_link id=”B00CMQTVMI” target=”_blank” container=”” container_class=”” ]Xbox One[/amazon_link]. It is being developed by Deck13 and published by CI Games.

The first trailer for the game was shown at Gamescom and is being shown at PAX this week also. It does have a certain Warcraft look to it. Any new RPG being developed for next-gen instantly has me interested.

No release date has been given for Lords of the Fallen.
