  • Injustice: Gods Among Us Story Trailer

    injustice-gods-among-us-09

Have no fear DC fans, NetherRealm is making sure that [amazon_link id=”B0088I7L76″ target=”_blank” container=”” container_class=”” ]Injustice: Gods Among Us[/amazon_link] is no Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe. The developers behind the incredibly fun Mortal Kombat reboot are putting the finishing touches on their follow-up fighter starring the characters of the DC Universe.

A new trailer for the game reveals the basics for the story mode. If you thought Injustice was going to be a simple player one vs. player two fight fest then you were wrong. NetherRealm is including a fully fleshed out story, like Mortal Kombat’s, that sees The Joker planning to detonate a nuclear device in Metropolis. It shows heroes and villains forging unlikely alliances as the world crumbles around them.

A big part of why the recent reboot of Mortal Kombat was so fun was its over the top story mode. I hope that with the wealth of DC characters in the game that Injustice’s story can easily surpass MK’s.

Injustice: Gods Among Us releases on April 16th.

  • How To Build Stark Tower In Lego Marvel Super Heroes

    Iron Man Lego Tony Stark

This video from the good folks at Game Informer gives us a look at the interior of the Star Tower level in Lego Marvel Super Heroes. In it you see Tony Stark, Captain America and Hulk in Tony’s workshop while showing off a little bit of the puzzles involving small RC helicopters and Cap’s shield. You can tell the game is still very early in development. As great as Lego Batman 2 was my expectations are high for Lego Marvel Super Heroes.

Lego Marvel Super Heroes releases this fall.

  • When Vaas Meets McLovin

    far-cry-3-lost-hollywood-star-location-guide

Machinima is on a roll lately. Halo 4: Forward Unto Dawn hit all the right notes before the game released last November, then they were the first to roll out the lost Battlestar Galactica: Blood and Chrome pilot which was broken up into multiple mini-sodes and now….now here is the Far Cry Experience.

Based on [amazon_link id=”B0050SYV70″ target=”_blank” container=”” container_class=”” ]Far Cry 3[/amazon_link] (the review is coming I promise), the series stars Christopher Mintz-Plasse as himself. He and a cameraman head out onto a tropical island where they encounter Vaas and his merry band of pirates. Needless to say that things do not go so well for everyone involved.

If the man playing Vaas seems to be perfect for the role it is because that is Michael Mando, the actor that brought Vaas to life in the game as well. Does it disturb your soul to know that there is a real Vaas out there? His performance is just as great as Far Cry 3 and is watchable over and over again much like Heath Ledger’s Joker.

The video below is all the episodes that have been released combined into one video. A bit of warning: if you have played Far Cry 3 then you know what to expect, but those watching that have not should be warned there is excessive violence and language as well as some cannibalism (but I laughed, should I be worried?). Enjoy!

  • Sony’s Mysterious Game Day 2013 Trailer

    gamer-day-sony_175c9

A video has been put up by Sony on their YouTube channel titled Game Day 2013. In the short 16 second teaser a woman is shown walking in a field and then a demonic yellow eye is shown with the date February 1, 2013. Right off the bat I think it is most likely Kratos’ wife hinting at a God of War  announcement set for Friday.

We can always hope against hope that it is Heavenly Sword 2 right?

  • Metal Gear Rising Trailer Trifecta

    metal-gear-rising-revengeance-pic-2

Metal Gear Rising is hoping you like trailers because you are getting three of them today. One focuses on all the locations you will be encountering in the game like open city streets and…..open city streets. Next the “Zandatsu” video shows how Raiden has become the best Sub-Zero he can by ripping the spines out of every enemy to restore vitality (didn’t Christopher Reeve do that in a South Park episode?) and finally we are given a suit overview which has Raiden using his augmented reality when his visor is down. Its detective mode from Arkham Asylum/City, just detective mode.

Even with all the sarcasm, I do want to give this game a try. Devil May Metal Gear, I mean [amazon_link id=”B002I0J8FI” target=”_blank” container=”” container_class=”” ]Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance[/amazon_link] releases on February 19th.

    untitled-270rif

2013 is going to hit gamers like a punch in the gut very soon. Between March and May there are no less than five triple-A games set to hit consoles. [amazon_link id=”B004FS8LYK” target=”_blank” container=”” container_class=”” ]Tomb Raider[/amazon_link], [amazon_link id=”B007FTE2VW” target=”_blank” container=”” container_class=”” ]Sim City[/amazon_link], God of War: Ascension, [amazon_link id=”B002I0H2AG” target=”_blank” container=”” container_class=”” ]Gears of War: Judgment[/amazon_link] and [amazon_link id=”B007CM0K86″ target=”_blank” container=”” container_class=”” ]The Last of Us[/amazon_link] will cerainly occupy a lot of your free time. Then you have the new consoles to look forward to.

If you are like me, you probably have a stack of games that have been started and put aside for a later date. Well that is what February is for! An idea was given on a gaming group I am a part of on Facebook (taken from a story on Kotaku) called “Four for February” in which we pick four games that we decide to finish in the 28 days of the month to catch up on the “Pile of Shame” we collect as gamers.

I will be attempting to do this beginning next month and encourage all of you who are besieged by unfinished games crying out for your time to do the same. Let us know what games you would want to attempt to finish in February. Here are my four:

    [amazon_link id=”B0076ZPYPI” target=”_blank” container=”” container_class=”” ]Sleeping Dogs[/amazon_link]

    [amazon_link id=”B0050SYLRK” target=”_blank” container=”” container_class=”” ]Assassin’s Creed 3[/amazon_link]

    [amazon_link id=”B005THAX5Q” target=”_blank” container=”” container_class=”” ]Aliens: Colonial Marines[/amazon_link]

    [amazon_link id=”B0050SWTAQ” target=”_blank” container=”” container_class=”” ]Need For Speed: Most Wanted[/amazon_link]

Will you accept the challenge? Or let your games remain to look sad on your shelf?

  • Bioshock Infinite’s New Trailer Goes 70’s Documentary

    E32011GameplayColumbiaMail2

As someone who has watched his share of British produced 70’s documentaries (mostly of the Jack the Ripper variety) I can appreciate the style and tone of this look at Columbia’s creation and subsequent secession from the United States. It gives the odd story a creepy look and feel and just adds to the ambiance that was so prevalent in the first Bioshock.

    [amazon_link id=”B003O6E6NE” target=”_blank” container=”” container_class=”” ]Bioshock Infinite[/amazon_link] releases on March 26th.
