  • The X-Men: Days Of Future Past Honest Trailer Even Knows Quicksilver Was Awesome

I really liked X-Men: Days of Future Past. I thought it successfully brought together both generations of X-Men movies and did the comic movie world a favor by erasing the events of X-Men 3. Even the guys at Honest Trailers admit that it was a fun ride with their newest video.

Like with X-Men comics, it is best to ignore timeline problems. You will just make your head hurt.

  • Warner Reveals DC Movie Release Dates, Casts The Flash

    justiceleague12

Warner Bros. opened the floodgate today on DC Comics movie news. They released dates for nine movies based on DC characters including TWO Justice League movies (both directed by Zack Snyder) and announced the casting of Ezra Miller as The Flash, who will appear in Justice League and his own movie. This puts to rest any rumors that Arrow or The Flash TV series will have anything to do with the DC movie universe.

Justice League will come out in 2017 only one year after Batman v Superman as rumors suggested. Suicide Squad, directed by David Ayer (Fury) is Warner’s second DC movie of 2016 following Batman v Superman. We should hear more about casting for the Squad soon.

There are two DC movies per year starting in 2016 until 2020. Wonder Woman leads the way in 2017 with a June release while Justice League will avoid the summer of 2017 and stake its claim as the biggest movie of the holiday season. The Flash will open in March 2018 which is smart since it is not in the middle of the summer onslaught and should find a good audience. Aquaman with Jason Momoa has a harder task with a July 2018 release especially if audiences aren’t accepting of the character in Justice League.

    The-Flash-Casting-Writing-Interview

Shazam starring The Rock as Black Adam starts 2019 with Justice League Part 2 in June. 2020 seems to be the year that has the most questions with a solo Cyborg movie and a rebooted Green Lantern. Hopefully eight years is enough time to get the taste of the first film out of their mouths.

This is certainly a balls out move by Warner, but a necessary one if they are going to compete with Marvel in theaters. They have to stick to their guns, even if some of these movies are only moderate successes.

    Check out the schedule below.

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice – March 25, 2016

    Suicide Squad – August 5, 2016

    Wonder Woman – June 23, 2017

Justice League Part One – November 17, 2017

    The Flash – March 23, 2018

    Aquaman – July 27, 2018

    Shazam – April 5, 2019

Justice League Part Two – June 14, 2019

    Cyborg – April 3, 2020

    Green Lantern – June 19, 2020

  • Robert Downey, Jr. Signs For Cap 3. Civil War Coming To Marvel Movies

    robert-downey-jr--in-iron-man-2-109269

Robert Downey, Jr. was teasing a big Marvel announcement last week during his press tour for The Judge and he was not joking. RDJ is finalizing a deal to be in Captain America 3 that will kick off the Civil War storyline in Marvel movies.

Civil War was Marvel’s big event in 2006 that saw Iron Man and Captain America at odds over the Superhero Registration Act that made vigilantes register their real identities with the US government and act under regulations. Looks like we will get more tension between the heroes that we saw in the first Avengers.

Downey’s role was going to be a small part in Cap 3, but the star convinced Marvel for a bigger part which comes with a bigger paycheck. He will make $40 million for his appearance along with percentage of gross if Cap 3 does better than The Winter Soldier at the box office.

As many know, the Civil War storyline ended with the death of Captain America at the hands of a brainwashed Sharon Carter and Crossbones (whose character, Brock Rumlow was introduced in The Winter Soldier). With Chris Evans’ contract ending after Avengers 3 you wonder if the movies will mirror the comics.

Marvel’s plan is for Civil War to have effects all the way to Avengers 4 that will have Tony Stark creating a new team with Ant-Man, Doctor Strange and other heroes. So while we may not be getting Iron Man 4, we will definitely be getting plenty of Iron Man in other places.

  • Tomorrowland Teaser Trailer Excites

Here is what I knew about Disney’s Tomorrowland:

    1. It is based on the Disney attraction

    2. It is being directed by Brad Bird (The Incredibles, Mission: Impossible: Ghost Protocol)

    3. It stars George Clooney

Disney has kept wraps on this project and I am glad since we live in a world of trailers that tell the plot and a hundred posters per release. So it is with great eagerness that I watched this teaser trailer and guess what happened? It teased me. Showing just enough to make me wonder what the heck is going on that I will want to see this opening weekend.

    Tomorrowland releases May 22, 2015.

  • Transformers: Age Of Extinction Has An Honest Trailer Because, Transformers

You don’t need an Honest Trailer to tell you that Transformers: Age of Extinction was bad, but it can offer some relief for anyone who spent real money to see this piece of sh**.

I was waiting until I could Redbox this for a dollar to at least see how ugly it could be, though I can’t even do that now with the parts of the movie I have seen beforehand. I have spent nine hours watching the first three movies. I could have used that time so much better. Having root canals, pulling out my nose hairs one by one until I cry, trust falling off a building praying the concrete is fluffy.

  • Watson Wields Sting In New Poster For The Hobbit: The Battle Of The Five Armies

    hr_The_Hobbit__The_Battle_of_the_Five_Armies_10

If you were expecting Martin Freeman to be holding onto an aging singer vigorously this is not the poster for you.

With the big winter releases this year (Interstellar, Dumb and Dumber To, Mockingjay) it is weird to think this has gone under the radar a bit.

The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies releases on December 17th.

  • Exodus: Gods And Kings Trailer Is Full Of Frogs & Locusts & Bales. Oh, My

One of my favorite movies is Cecil B. DeMille’s The Ten Commandments. I have watched the movie countless times and even to this day watch it at least once a year. It is the epitome of Hollywood in its heydey with huge sets, big stars and enough extras to populate a small country. So I am hoping Ridley Scott does not piss away the story of Moses with his new movie Exodus: Gods and Kings.

A new trailer has been released and offers a good look at just how big a picture this is aiming to be. I will say that I did like what I saw and I am cautiously optimistic that something good could be on the way.

Now if I get a Yul Brynner CGI appearance in there somewhere, I will sing its praises from Mt. Sinai.

  • Star Trek 3: Shat Happens?

    Spock_and_Kirk,_1986

Star Trek 3 writer and director Roberto Orci is wanting to bring back William Shatner for a part in the third revamped Trek film. The original Capt. James T. Kirk was supposed to have a cameo in the J.J. Abrams 2009 reboot, but was cut which led to Shatner doing his Shatner thing and getting pissed.

Orci’s script has a scene which reunites Leonard Nimoy’s Spock and Kirk, whether it will really happen is anyone’s guess. I am of the thought that you can not have enough Shatner (of which I might be the minority).

With Star Trek 3 releasing in 2016 to coincide with the 50th anniversary of the original series it would be a nice callback to the show’s history. Just keep Nichelle Nichols away from ever doing this again.

  • Liam Neeson Kill Map. I Want To Frame This

    liam-neeson-kill-map

Reason # 4663 why the internet is amazing: this Liam Neeson Kill Map which shows the actor’s various forays into his murderous side.

All of his greatest hits are here. From Darkman, Taken, Gangs of New York to Chronicles of Narnia included with a map key showing the different methods of death. Find it funny how he has two kills as Aslan the lion which has always been representative of Jesus in the C.S. Lewis series. Lion Jesus doesn’t take any sh**.

  • First Look At New Batmobile From Batman v Superman

    BxN9u_AIgAIq_qp

Zack Snyder tweeted out our first official look at the new Batmobile from Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. A little piece of the vehicle could be seen in the first shot of Ben Affleck’s Batman and a few pictures leaked online from filming so I think Snyder just decided to show off Batman’s new ride in all of its Frank Miller-y glory.

It looks like a mix of the Tumbler from The Dark Knight Trilogy and Batman’s weaponized tank (for the lack of a better term) from The Dark Knight Returns.

The more we see from this movie it is easy to see how much Miller’s work is influencing Snyder’s take on the character.
