We are only six days away from the release and I am on official countdown.

Star Trek Into Darkness releases on May 16th with special early IMAX screenings on May 15th.

  • First Trailer For Gravity Will Take Your Breath Away

Director Alfonso Cuaron’s labor of love, Gravity, is set for an October release and the first trailer looks extraordinary. Sandra Bullock and George Clooney star as two astronauts who are left drifting in space, tethered together when their station is destroyed during a space walk. To me, this is the type of movie I go to the theater for to experience on the big screen and not wait for home release.

    Gravity releases on October 4th.

  • Watch Batgirl Take On The Joker In Injustice

I am a Batgirl fan. Actually the more appropriate statement would be I am a Batgirl addict. I have statues, comics, graphic novels. I can not help but watch every episode of the Adam West batman when Yvonne Craig would be on as Barbara Gordon in Season 3 (seriously, do you not know how hot she was?).

Now Batgirl is the second of four DLC characters for [amazon_link id=”B0088I7L76″ target=”_blank” container=”” container_class=”” ]Injustice: Gods Among Us[/amazon_link]. Here we have a video of Barbara taking on The Joker and showing off all of her moves.

And yes, The Joker is wearing his beach attire from The Killing Joke. Please let this be part of the DLC. For a bat fan like me, that is worth almost the price of the game.

  • Trailer For The World’s End

It looks like Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz made beautiful love and Dr. Watson came along for the ride. Anyone up for a double feature viewing soon? No weirdos.

The World’s End releases on August 23rd.

  • Diamond Toys Star Trek “Space Seed” Toy Set. Now I Am Complete.

    Star-Trek-Select-Captain-Kirk-Action-Figure

Space Seed was the episode of The Original Series that began a legend whose name was Khan. Now Diamond Toys is releasing this set which lets you recreate Capt. Kirk’s fight with the genetically enhanced warrior. You can position the set like you see above or even make Kirk give Khan his famous flying kick.

There is so much want exuding out of my body right now that I am sure the people next to me think I am ready to take them out for a nice seafood dinner and never call them again.

A Spock figure will also be released from the episode “Devil in the Dark” complete with a Horta.

Bethesda is going back to the grandfather of first person shooters with Wolfenstein: The New Order.

Set in an alternate 1960’s where the Nazis have won World War II and control the free world. You will play as original character BJ Blazkowicz and attempt to take down the Nazi horde once and for all.

  • Big Gran Turismo Announcement Set For May 15th

To celebrate Gran Turismo’s 15th anniversary, Sony has announced that they and Polyphony will hold a Gran Turismo event on May 15th that will unveil the future of the franchise while looking back at its history.

Rumors have swirled that Sony is planning to release Gran Turismo 6 on PS3 before the end of the year. Some would say that it should be released on the PS4, but they already have Drive Club coming for the next-gen system and GT6 would be a great way to keep interest in the PS3 high during the fall of a new console launch.

I will venture a guess that a Gran Turismo anniversary edition of some sort will be announced too.

  • First Trailer For Ender’s Game

Ender’s Game is a big gamble for a movie. I consider it in the same category as Dune. It is a legendary sci-fi book that may be too much for the big screen. Now I am in no way saying that Orson Scott Card’s book is near as complicated or engrossing as Dune, but it is a seminal work of science fiction that I hope does not get screwed up by Hollywood (looking at you David Lynch).

If there is something to take away from this trailer it is that the movie should look very pretty and Asa Butterfield needs to hurry up and get nominated for an Academy Award. Seriously, the preview points out this fact with each star announcement.

    Ender’s Game releases November 1.

I think even Dr. Sheldon Cooper, who famously said, “suck it, Zachary Quinto”, would approve of this commercial from Audi starring Leonard Nimoy and his alternate reality counterpart.

There are many things in life that make me happy: football, caramel apple empanadas, Far Cry and now, this.

This is Super Bowl worthy and not in the “I wish that was better” sort of way, but the “Betty White playing mud football with Abe Vigoda” sort of way.

  • Star Trek Into Darkness Moves Up Release Date

Paramount has announced that the early showings of Star Trek Into Darkness in IMAX 3D set for May 15th at 8PM are selling out nationwide. Cities like New York, Seattle and San Diego are reportedly at capacity.

In response Paramount has moved up the release date of the sequel by a day to Thursday, May 16th. So if you already have tickets reserved through Fandango for Friday showings….I guess you’re f***ed. Actually I am pretty sure you can change your tickets, I just love messing with you.

Any way I can see Star Trek sooner is certainly fine by me.
