Microsoft has announced that the [amazon_link id=”B00CMQTVMI” target=”_blank” container=”” container_class=”” ]Xbox One[/amazon_link] will be released on November 22nd, one week after the [amazon_link id=”B00CMQTVQO” target=”_blank” container=”” container_class=”” ]Playstation 4[/amazon_link].
The date is also the eighth anniversary of the release of the Xbox 360.
While it will not be beating Sony to store shelves, a one week gap is nothing to be worried about sales wise. They will be just in time for Black Friday which is the most important thing when planning a holiday release.
Michael Bay’s fourth Transformers movie will be called Transformers: Age of Extinction. The new poster even says as much right up there. By the look of it, the Transformers will travel to Tatooine and try to pod race in Mos Eisley with their new racist Mexican robots and it will make a billion dollars and Michael Bay will sit back, collect his money and maniacal laugh.
I have been burned by the Transformers movies before and can honestly say the only way I would ever give it a chance again would be if Dinobots were in it.
Ever since its debut at E3, Ryse: Son of Rome has been trying to convince people that there is more depth to their game than a lot of pretty QTE events. With each new showing they are showing more of the hack and slash combat that makes up the majority of the gameplay. This video gives a look at how the developers worked on the free flow combat and counter controls for the [amazon_link id=”B00CMQTVMI” target=”_blank” container=”” container_class=”” ]Xbox One[/amazon_link] title.
The game has many doubters and I am sure this video will not sway their thinking, but Ryse is still high up on my list of next-gen launch titles that I am eager to play. There is no doubt that the game looks gorgeous. Maybe it can surprise a few people.
If you have an insatiable urge to kill the undead then [amazon_link id=”B00DB90AHA” target=”_blank” container=”” container_class=”” ]Dead Rising 3[/amazon_link] is your fix. The [amazon_link id=”B00CMQTVMI” target=”_blank” container=”” container_class=”” ]Xbox One[/amazon_link] launch title is looking more an more like the Dead Rising we know the more we see it. A new gameplay trailer shows off a small variety of the ways to keep the hordes of zombies at bay including flaming swords, firearms and even breathing fire.
Only one week remains until you can get your hands on what looks like the Vita’s first great shooter, [amazon_link id=”B0050SWYTC” target=”_blank” container=”” container_class=”” ]Killzone: Mercenary[/amazon_link]. I hope it can deliver in bringing a true console quality experience to first-person shooters on the Vita.
For you trophy addicts here is the list of the 53 trophies that will have you busy on Sony’s handheld beginning next week.
Bronze
-Aces High – Attain an ace Valor card ranking.
-Anti-Air – Shoot down 10 enemy VAN-Guard drones in Multiplayer.
-Beachcomber – Destroy all bamacles in ‘The Package’
If you own the [amazon_link id=”B0083SBMGW” target=”_blank” container=”” container_class=”” ]Marvel Phase One Blu-Ray Set[/amazon_link] then you already are familiar with Matt Ferguson’s artwork. He created the alternate covers for each of the movies in the collection. Now he has made this inspired yin yang piece based on the Batman vs. Superman movie coming in 2015. It is a frame-worthy piece to be sure.
Dungeon crawling and real-time strategy are the name of the game this week. Diablo 3 and Total War: Rome II are the big releases and just in time to occupy your time until GTA V hits in a few weeks. Also, if platforming is more your style, Rayman Legends is out this week on console and Vita.
Ok, so We’re the Millers didn’t finish on top, but I don’t want to post another picture of Forest Whitaker on here and damn if I am going to have One Direction up there.
So Labor Day is summer’s last hoorah and people took advantage of the holiday weekend to give every movie a boost. Lee Daniels’ The Butler took first again for the third week in a close race with the One Direction movie, This is Us.
The weekend’s other big release, Getaway, was lost in the shuffle. It had to have been hard to market a kidnapped wife/racing movie starring Ethan Hawke and Selena Gomez. Yeah, it is even hard to type.
You would think with all the Arkham Origins coverage we were excited about the game or something. Good guess.
This new video shows off the work WB Games Montreal put into the motion capture for the game. They did not go full face involving the voice actors rather they did body-only as actors matched up their motions to the voice actors performance. It is an interesting look inside the game that is worth a look.
[amazon_link id=”B00C7103DO” target=”_blank” container=”” container_class=”” ]Batman: Arkham Origins[/amazon_link] releases on October 25th.
Lords of the Fallen is a new fantasy RPG for the [amazon_link id=”B00CMQTVQO” target=”_blank” container=”” container_class=”” ]Playstation 4[/amazon_link] and [amazon_link id=”B00CMQTVMI” target=”_blank” container=”” container_class=”” ]Xbox One[/amazon_link]. It is being developed by Deck13 and published by CI Games.
The first trailer for the game was shown at Gamescom and is being shown at PAX this week also. It does have a certain Warcraft look to it. Any new RPG being developed for next-gen instantly has me interested.
No release date has been given for Lords of the Fallen.
