Many of you may know by now that author Tom Clancy passed away last night. The author had over 100 million books in print and his most famous character was undoubtedly Jack Ryan. Paramount has picked today to release the first poster for their Jack Ryan reboot, Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit. Whether it was planned ahead of time or done as a tribute to Clancy, it still seems a little odd.

Despite the sad news of Clancy’s passing, there is good reason to be excited about this new movie. Chris Pine takes over the role previously played by Alec Baldwin, Harrison Ford and Ben Affleck. Kenneth Branagh is pulling double duty as director and villain. Kevin Costner and the human stick figure Keira Knightley also star.
