Can Bioware Win Back Dragon Age Fans With Third Entry?

Bioware has announced that the Dragon Age franchise will be returning to consoles next year and will be using a new engine.

General manager of Bioware Montreal and Edmonton Aaryn Flynn also seems to know that a lot of fans were turned off by Dragon Age 2 (this one included) and wants fans to know that a lot of work is going into making this game a brand new Dragon Age.

“The Dragon Age team has been working on Dragon Age 3: Inquisition for almost two years now. We’ve been poring over player feedback from past games and connecting directly with our fans. They haven’t held back, so we’re not either. With Dragon Age 3: Inquisition, we want to give fans what they’re asking for – a great story with choices that matter, a massive world to explore, deep customization and combat that is both tactical and visceral.”

Bioware is not resting on their laurels when it comes to how Dragon Age 3 will run. They have partnered up with DICE to use the Frostbite 2 engine as the games base. Frostbite 2 was used in the creation of last year’s Battlefield 3 and the game looked stunning so one can only guess how well it will be used in the hands of Bioware.

Dragon Age 3: Inquisition will be released in late 2013.
